    This was my first real look at the conditions under which my father worked. My father worked on the RPO for 38 years mainly between New York and Pittsburgh My father was always studying the schemes. This brought back memories because I would sit with him sometimes and calll the cards. He had to carry a gun ans did all of the men on the RPO in those days. He knew the names of every tiny little town in PA. The men took pride in their work.

    HI! From Green Bay, WI., the home of the former National Railroad Museum. This is because, until 8 years ago, we had the twin to your RPO car #60 of the AT&SF RR, RPO # 57, that was acquired in 1963-64. It was rumored that this was the first of these series of cars. It was supposed to a additional companion piece to the giant steam locomotive ATSF # 5017 Texas-type 2-10-4, but instead, it was used only as a storage car, but it somewhat saved the interior. Yet it was kept outside and was vandalized, and weather-beaten. Until 8 years ago, when an outside manager who did not have any railroad experience whatsoever, and the Board decided to sell it off via the Internet. Only just Tuesday 1-2-17, did I find again on the net , because now it's at the LS&M RR in Duluth, MN. Personally, I want it back here. But if the volunteers in Duluth can restore the rusted body, and broken windows, and use it for demonstration runs, then the best of luck, and congratulations for saving it, instead of being destroyed like 17 other pieces that used to be here at the NRRM, like the Cassville and Exeter RR Plymouth Center-cab 50 tonner #2001 nicknamed "Mighty Mite" that was this museums very first gas electric engine donated by the Ashley family in 1961, but destroyed by different outsiders in 1985. I took pictures at the threat of being kicked out, and even arrested for trespassing. So, PLEASE!!, save every thing you can. Do NOT let unscrupulous outsiders in with you, because it's just like fire and water that don't mix, because they will throw cold water on ALL your good plans, and the fire of the cutters torch will destroy all your efforts.

    I WORKED AS A CASUAL IN THE 90S FOR TH POST OFFICE. PEOPLE WOULD ANSWER THE DOOR HALF DRESSED MOST OF THE TIME. I WAS A SUBSTITUTE ROUTE CARRIER IN SAN RAFAEL CALIFORNIA THE WORKED IN A GMF IN NEW YORK
