You may not know it, but the fans in a match count a lot, if you have the whole stadium against, it affects the game, due to the pressure, and you don't feel supported, this is important for the players. The Italy-England final had 55,000 English fans and only 6,000 Italian fans, and you toxic English fans booed not only the Italian anthem, but also the Italian team throughout the match, even during penalties. Like your videos bro especially your commentary at the end about the poor behaviour of SOME England 'fans'.
However, as for penalties, I can't agree it is a lottery. A lottery is pure chance, no skill whatsoever involved. Penalties require skill and above all mental strength. You wouldn't argue that if you asked a nervous wreck limping up to the spot on crutches that you would be confident they would score would you? Southgate's mistake was to bring on Rashford and Sancho who hardly even played in the tournament at the last minute. But even worse than that was to ask that poor boy Saka to take the 5th when you had more experienced players available to take the penalty.
In the Euro 1996 penalty shootout with Germany when Stuart Pearce went up to Terry Venables and volunteered to take the penalty, Venables said to him "Are you f....ng sure?" - it's the job of the manager to assess the mental state of the penalty takers and not rely on practices where there is no pressure or nothing at stake.
I hope England and Southgate learn some lessons from this, you have the makings of a good squad there that should be a contender in next year's WC.
