Hi Joanne.......thanks fro making the vid...... your the best ..... I have liked it and I subscribed ..... Love the different formations....now that looks cool.... great times right there ....good job on the vid ....now .....we want to see another one ...So you know what I am gonna say huh....So C'mon...Let's Go !!!!!!!
Hey there Jeff! Thanks for the kind words. That sure was a fun time. Yep, I'm already planning the next video. I'm thinking it's time for a bit of work on the Desert Dawg. I don't want to be camping in a tent... :-)
Amazing video! I visited the Florence Mine in 1970, when Martin Duffy was still being lowered into the shaft every day by his wife Ruth. We didn't get to go down in the mine, but he showed us all around the grounds. Fascinating then, and fascinating still!
As coincidence would have it, we visited the mine just a couple of days apart. I've been visiting Goldfield for over 10 years and this is the first time I've been able to see the mine site and explore the remaining workings. Yes, we were in the same levels. With the ladder being missing below level 5, next trip we will take ropes so we can rappel and explore level 6. I believe that is the last level that is above water and certainly we can verify that when we get down deeper. It would be cool if a couple of levels were still intact! Just curious, I'm thinking about doing some videos of bike rides...Death Valley, Route 66, north and south rims of the Grand Canyon, and such. Would that be something you would be interested in watching? I love everything outdoors, but don't want to get too many different themes going in the same channel. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Very cool video thanks for taking us along you are one brave woman Joanne, going into that old sketchy gold mine it differently looks like it is caving in and very dangerous glad to see you guys made it out safe, Its got a lot of history sharing on my FB .page.
I certainly understand! Mine exploring isn't for everyone. One reason that I like making these videos is to share the underground world with those who can't for whatever reason. I love to watch flying videos. I have medical issues that would never let me get a license, but it's still great to watch others. Thanks for joining us on the adventure!
Yeah, great vid Joanne. Boy, there is a lot of colours down there, not seen anything like that over there before, looking like our mines here in the UK. It's amazing what a bit of moisture does. Everywhere you turn you see the timbers being crushed down, amazing forces at play. I saw so many fresh breaks in the timbers too, shows the movement is still happening. Fascinating but that place really does have a limited time left, maybe the next decade will close off many of those passages for good, not that there are too many left now, so sad. We need to get in there and explore the heck out of it ASAP. Maybe find some alternative routes to lower sections should the main route end up cut off. Whatever we do, it needs to be done soon though. Yes, you need a catch phrase or signal. Maybe end with " America, f*ck yeah" then a quick back somersault...? Ask Jon to make sure the main shaft stays open until next year when hopefully I will be able to come out and play. Great stuff, keep it up. :-)
Thanks a lot Tony. You said you are coming out for next year? That's perfect! It will give us plenty of time to work on our mine. And Jeff's mine. Explore Delamar some more. And of course, completely explore the Florence. That's just the backlog...we need more new stuff too. You need to talk to some important people over there so they will drop the travel embargo....or is it on our side?
Hey! You are doing some good and interesting work with these video's, keep it up! I have one small tip that will probably help you make your videos just a little bit better and that is to get a deadcat windscreen for you microphones. I noticed you use a lavalier mic(and maybe a shotgun on your camera) but they seem to be picking up wind in the audio. A simple and cheap deadcat will really help your audio in outdoor environments. Good luck on your adventures and on UA-cam, keep it up!
You are right about the deadcats! I have been thinking about them and your comment prompted me to order them this morning. Thank you for that feedback. I'm finding that producing good audio is a real challenge in my videos. I'm filming outdoors, indoors, and underground using shotgun, lavalier, and studio microphones. I knew audio is important but did not anticipate that it would be this challenging to figure out. I'm trying to learn and improve with every video. Thanks again!
Joanne, was this before you hurt your back?.. Why did they shut down?. By the looks of thangs, this mine wont be standing much longer....Good job on the video...Thanks.............JB.
Hey John! Yes, we visited the Florence Mine well before I was injured. Like all mines, it was a financial decision. As the ore becomes less "rich" the profit margins start to fall and at some point it's no longer financially feasible to keep the mine operating. Of course the price of gold then was around $20 an ounce. Many of these mines still have gold in them, but it's just not cost effective to commercially mine. You are exactly right about the mine slowly collapsing on itself. I've been in a lot of mines and this is the most obvious case of slow-motion collapse. I am so happy that I have gotten to explore this historic mine. I look forward to a more extensive exploration in the future. Thanks for writing! Joanne
I reached out Jon Aurich and he said to go to his Facebook page: facebook.com/groups/20873310799/user/100040899224099 You can message him from there. I hope this helps. Joanne
I know few things about Nevada, area 51, atomic test area, Las Vegas, a lots of mine , and this is the example America is built with gold or money no legend true story.... PS. I know people with your speleological experience can pass thru a very tiny space 😅✌ and Jeff always funny guy 👍
Mirko, Goldfield and Tonopah are both just to the west of the Nevada test and training range. The Delamar Mine from last video is almost due east of Area 51. We've camped all around the area and I keep hoping to see something I can't explain. We've seen plenty of cool planes flying around, but nothing out of the normal. Yes, Jeff is funny! He and Lila are great fun to hang out with.
@@OutdoorAdventureTV wow you like same things like me, ufo or human ufo I mean, underground exploration, aeroplane ect, in my pass life in Italy I was a private pilot now here in Canada is different reality 😉, then I'm a member about speleological group in my town for 6 years, and last job in Italy working for movies theater production, but life changing fast, Jeff yes is lucky guys because his wife can help him and follow him, unfortunately my wife have 2 veins broke on his brain, and she's lost almost 50% of capatity or energy, so I keep going calm and quiet for another year👍💪
@@OutdoorAdventureTV thanks Joanne I appreciate that, we needed , her father too stay in the hospital for another reason, doctor mistake this time, fighting between life and dead, is a very hard time, but we stay calm and keep going 👍👋

Always awesome to see you down in the shafts of old mines Joanne
We always have a great time when we go out exploring! Glad you like it! 👍
A very interesting explore. I came here from TVR Exploring. You both were in the same levels.

It's great that you got to meet them! James is growing up so fast and Jon is a historian, geologists, and all around great guy. 👍
Looks like you guys had a grate time. Who knows maybe one day I will get the chance to see her for myself.
Jon is a super cool guy and offers tours. Its absolutely worth stopping in to see it. The hoist is just spectacular.

Tom, thanks for joining us on the adventures! There are so many neat places to visit. Looking forward to making more videos.
How many ounces per ton?? wow! That's amazing! So incredibly interesting to see this mine.
Goldfield had some of the richest ore ever found. Jon is amazing source of history
You rock ! You would not get me down there!
