Let me route to a no-name shitty charger. Then you basically said, "You see that? Charging is a pain. EVs suck." I rolled my eyes so hard. Overall good video and the R1S appears to be amazing. I'm rooting hard for you Rivian!!!
Part of the problem is marketing. Many CPOs “Max power” is often quoted for 800v cars by CPOs….They put 200 amp cables on it and say it’s a “180kw charger” when in reality most are going to get 65-75kw. It’s a big issue. Thankfully, most new installs are actually installing cables that can handle 4-500amps to provide actual high speed charging to most cars out there (400v cars)
I've been waiting for so long for you to do an audio review of these version 2 Rivian with the upgraded premium sound system. A good sound system is on the very top of a must-have for me.
Rivian has consistently disappointed in this area. The meridian system was pretty good, but all versions since have been disappointing. My “premium” audio should be the base audio, with an upgrade option to something better. This isn’t a 100k vehicle audio system. We should have been able to pay to get the meridian system back.
Nice review. 100% agree on lack of Android Auto/CarPlay. I get that not everyone needs or misses it, but for us it just has so many plusses that make daily driving better and it was the primary reason we didn't buy a Rivian R1S (and why we won't get an R2)
3:52, math is way off on that. The absolute cheapest max range is $90k on their website. But realistically, my builds kept coming out to roughly $97k with a couple option packs/different colors inside and out. Performance pack is $5k that pushes it up to $102k.
@@666dualsportyour math is inverted. 40% depreciation has been roughly the average (60k used market price compared to ~100k MSRP. ) not great, but not that far off from normal vehicle 33%.
The max pack is a waste of money. Standard pack being LFP is actually the best option for most buyers. Those who roadtrip should get the large because most people are going to stop to pee every 3 hours anyways. For as expensive as max pack is, it absolutely is not worth it.
Dumb! What a horrible experience just to charge it. And you blocked another charger just to do it! Can you imagine if it was busy and someone came in and saw you blocking a Tesla charger to charge your Rivian! I’m sticking with gasoline 😂
V4 cabinets don’t have this problem thankfully, and most 12+ v3 stall supercharges have enough space that this isn’t a problem in real world use. It’s only when you try and use 8 stall locations that it becomes a problem.
@ real world is relative. I live in the middle of British Columbia and I will never see one of these. They’re few and far between as it is. Vancouver will be the first. Lots of Teslas there.

You get use to it (and see some advantages), but I certainly miss cop warnings on Waze, and having my text messages read out.

DEPRECIATION @60% OVER 2 YEARS---YEAH GREAT CHOICE
@ lol no chance I’d buy one of these. Just an interesting video to watch and learn about.

🥶🥶
it has Apple Music?
@@Jodywshelton it does, but not Apple podcast app unfortunately.
They added it via software update, along with Atmos support.
