〈悄然離去〉是一首經典的傳統黑人靈歌，經摩斯．霍根的重新編曲後，以三 段簡單歌詞的反覆吟誦，訴說黑奴在生命走到盡頭時，苦難終於得以解脫的心境。輕柔的旋律有如內心之獨白，輕述自己已不久於人世，將順應主的召喚回歸天國。
編曲者摩斯．霍根（Moses Hogan，1957-2003），美國鋼琴家、作曲家及合 唱音樂編曲家。畢業於奧伯林音樂學院（Oberlin Conservatory of Music）和茱麗亞 音樂學院（The Juilliard School），後又在奧地利維也納修習音樂。自幼接受專業音樂教育，深受教堂合唱音樂的影響，於 年成立新世界合唱樂團（New World Ensemble）。其黑人靈歌作品最為有名，代表作有The Oxford Book of Spirituals 《牛津靈歌曲集》、Feel the Spirit Vol 1&2《感知主靈（卷一、二）》等。

This hymn " Steal a way home" written by a Black lyricist in 1800 , sustain and comfort me during a cold winter night in Korea during the war, i was only 18 years old, to me it's the most beautiful hymn of all.

They're just singing the music they're given, they may or may not even know who Jesus is. But it's inspiring anyway.
Good singing blurs racial and nation barriers. A beautifully conducted piece of African American Spiritual gospel standard. Bravo!

I sang this song in my high school's sacred-choir... getting the chance to learn how to sing such a beautiful song is a blessing from God I'll always treasure. The NTU Chorus sounds divine here. Bless these members. May Jesus Bless all who read this.
Inexpressibly beautiful! Music that was created out of misery and sorrow that was slavery in America; incomprehensible to us today. How appropriate for it to be performed by the Taiwanese. As a people over the centuries, in terms of numbers, the Chinese have suffered pain and suffering we cannot imagine. "Incomprehensible" is what comes to my mind and heart when I think of slavery and suffering under despots, regardless what race it was or how long ago it was.
We see most of the inhabitants of Taiwan as Chinese and their more recent ancestors were able to escape there and blend with the native population. Now they all live under very threatening conditions. However many have learned to seek Jesus, The One True and Living God!
He Is Our Salvation and Deliverer!
This is sung so perfectly, majestically, smoothly, and peacefully, it brings tears to my eyes. My Hope is in the Name of the Lord who made Heaven and Earth.

A beautiful and truly heartfelt rendition of a "Negro Spiritual" from an unlikely source. I do hope they realize the true nature of this piece , it is very important to be in the moment.

The most beautiful rendition I have ever heard. Absolute perfection, the harmony, & way it was sung brought tears to my eyes. Excellent performance. I live in the U.S. & I pray that positive change happens for
the black communities in my country & all countries where racial discrimination occurs.
This had me so emotional. I don't normally get tears in my eyes from much but this rendition of the song really caught me off guard and I confess, I cried a lot. There's something deeply moving about this song apart from any other hymn or religious song I've encountered. So glad I learned of it from George Washington's Mount Vernon UA-cam channel!
Something drew me to this song on the outskirts of college campus three miles away from home at age five, it was the first time I heard anything sang so beautiful ,I'm sixty plus and still get goosebumps when ever I hear it.
