  • #Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve in the East Sikkim district of the state of Sikkim in India. It is about 30 kilometres east of Rangpo. The total notified area of the park is around 124 square kilometres. The area that comes under this biosphere has been declared in 1999 as a wildlife sanctuary under biogeographic province category 2C. Altitudinal range of the sanctuary lies between 1760 metres to 4390 meters. Pangolakha range in the east separates Sikkim from its eastern neighboring country Bhutan. Whereas it is linked through forest patches to the south by Neora Valley National Park of West Bengal.
    There are 3 changes namely,
    17:29 - 17:30 - Dark-rumped Rosefinch instead of dark-breasted
    20:39 - Eurasian Sparrowhawk instead of perigrene falcon
    21:33 - Rosy Pipit instead of olive-backed

    Beautiful video! Enjoyed a lot. Loved the last point of us being sustainable tourists. I, too observed a lot of plastic pollution when I went to Arunachal for a trip. Made a point of carrying our own water bottles and filling it up locally. Also, putting all of our plastic waste in a large bag and disposing it at a larger town/city. Fantastic documentation. May I know the name of birding guide and his contact for these places? Thank you.

    It is a wonderful video and a real treat to watch. Please let me know 2 things.
    1. What types of birds can be found if someone visit in Nov/Dec.
    2. Where to stay to do birding here apart from Padamchen?

    • @ArijitSen
      @ArijitSen  3 роки тому +1

      1. The types of birds are same throughout the year..except for some migratory birds in winter. But their activity is very high in April May as it is the mating season...thus chances of viewing them is also high then in their bright plumage..
      2. U can stay at Zuluk, lungthu and nathang for high altitude birding
