This run aims to complete Majora's Mask in the first 3-day cycle.
It is different from a previous year's LOTAD, "The REAL 3 Day Challenge" ( • Majora's Mask: The REA... ) in the following key ways:
- There is *no* SRM used at all
- We don't have access to the Deku Mask when we become human
Just these changes make the challenges quite different, and completing the game with these conditions has surprising new obstacles that you'll have to watch to see!

Thank you GlitchesAndStuff for sticking around for the commentary as long as possible. He's at a speedrunning event right now (ESA) and it's nice he decided to set aside time to be there for the stream anyway.
I love the idea of Link sweeping in on the final day, and setting things right in the wee hours of the morning just before Termina's destruction.
Would be interesting to see the run with all the stopped time cut out.
Even seeing it "destroyed" in this fashion, anytime I see some new MM content, I'm reminded of just what a masterpiece this game is.

Can confirm, I was extremely impressed by the speed of the ice floe bounce.
And, you know, the entire rest of the run. I genuinely thought this was an impossible challenge until just now, even after the human in first cycle discovery. And yet this run manages to keep showing off one solution to an impossible problem after the next, I had no idea where things were going until the very end of the "puzzle section". And given the years and years of research that went into trying and failing to accomplish this goal... this feels to me like the most significant LOTAD accomplishment yet. I hope everyone realizes just how much history there is behind this one in particular!
Anyway, I can't see how RTA could ever happen, so I'm sure that means it will be done in a few months or so.

beating this game in only one cycle is such a huge milestone. For years and years and years we been playing this game in 2-3 cycles at the bare minimum for speed runs, but no longer! the legendary one cycle run without SRM is finally possible TAS!
I can't believe it's been 10 years! Every LOTAD has been so interesting, thanks for bearing the torch keeta and I'm excited to see how the tradition continues in the future

I'm not someone that regularly watches speedruns, but I've made a point to check these videos out every year. Thanks for keeping MM and OoT alive in my head.

That's crazy that without ocarina, playing oath to order just kicks you out to termina field. Because it loads the field to do the cutscene, and then it's like "wait what was i doing here?"

Hey Keeta! Just wondering, do you still plan on doing LOTADs from time to time? You said that you weren’t going to hold yourself to February 21st anymore (and I don’t blame you, needing to put a LOTAD together on a deadline is probably really stressful) but do you still plan on casually working on LOTADs for fun? As a sort of “if it happens it happens” kind of thing?

What prevents you from learning sonata and raising woodfall before turning human? Is there just no viable setup for ocarina items as deku in palace/woodfall? Or does either of them not work without the actual ocarina?
In particular... couldn't you do some restricted items method like ledge popup to pull out an explosive, then use that for OI with express mail?
I actually tried looking for such a ledge in the monkey's cage for a bit, but no luck. It would be great if a method like that were found.
Finally the true one cycle. Next do it in one cpu cycle.

no, it's kinda the opposite. every time you pause, the game time advances an extra tick than it otherwise would have

It is, but at this point it requires SRM, and that's banned in most categories.

Then you need a fairly optimal massive hover followed by a plausible way to beat Twinmold without losing time. The Big Octo skip isn't easy either, even though you have more time to do that.

can you not just use tatl text to action swap to shoot fire arrows at goht?
That is a MM3D only thing. If I remember correctly it’s to do with the 1 extra animation frame
You have to have an arrow in your inventory to do that, and the only way we know how to get that is by getting the quiver (by getting the bow from Woodfall).

So what's the difference between this and real 3 day cycle
This one doesn't use SRM.
No Stale Reference Manipulation or Get Item Manipulation, not even to get Deku Mask or the Ocarina. Also it's Any% rather than Max Masks.

Why do you need to skip magic?
I don't think they need to, it's just fast in a tas setting. Rta would probably get magic for deku bubble if anyone tries.
Right. We don't need to. We just can. Magic would also help in that you wouldn't need any pause buffering on the Clock Tower.
