To answer your question about why geto couldn't absorb the curse. The manga has a single narrator line at the end of the chapter that says geto couldn't absorb the curse because Toji has a master servant pact with the curse so he couldn't override their pact with his cursed technique. Once Toji died the curse then was released from that pact and sought out geto because geto became the new master. Also great job.

Now if we look at mob psycho 3, towards the later episodes they didn't have big name animators available anymore because of CSM and Tengoku. But even the young animators who participated were doing Genga work instead of LO. If they were only contacted for LO, they wouldn't need to make genga for any of their cuts, but they still did genga for 2 cuts here because they want to prioritize their artwork for the important scenes. If you think about it, genga is just a more detailed and polished version of LO, which will decrease the load on AD and second KA, so there's no reason for these artists to not make genga. The ideal process goes: animator makes LO > gets corrected by AD > same animator cleans his LO and makes genga > AD/CAD makes final corrections > douga. Right now though the meta is: animator makes LO > AD input > army of 2nd KA take LO as base and AD drawings as reference to complete genga. As for the Kurosaki scene it could be as you said and pre-decided that he'll be completing the genga for it.

When making in-between drawings for organic shapes, sometimes the drawings don't line up properly. This will lead to inconsistency between frames and affects the illusion of animation as a whole. The characters look like they "melt". Can be seen a lot in chainsaw-man towards the later episodes; episode 8 and 10 had some articularly bad cases of melting.
What does a Genga artist do? Manko mentioned it often and I really want to know what exactly a Genga artist is doing in an animation. Does anyone know?
Should've just called it Kekkai sensen again lol. Always think of Kekkai sensen's english name a concrete revolutio for some reason. I think it's because these two shows are where Yutapon came up with his current style of animation, so they get mixed up in my head.

What is melting, when referring to in-between animators?
When making in-between drawings for organic shapes, sometimes the drawings don't line up properly. This will lead to inconsistency between frames and affects the illusion of animation as a whole. The characters look like they "melt". Can be seen a lot in chainsaw-man towards the later episodes; episode 8 and 10 had some articularly bad cases of melting.

Should've just called it Kekkai sensen again lol. Always think of Kekkai sensen's english name a concrete revolutio for some reason. I think it's because these two shows are where Yutapon came up with his current style of animation, so they get mixed up in my head.
Come to think of it, some of these shots looks quite a bit like Bleach, but even closer to Kubo's style than even the TYBW anime, oddly... hope its not a pipe dream for him to direct an episode of Bleach😩

What's with the hate boner for Hell's paradise?, the animation wasn't even bad. The majority of the show looked solid 🙄
Eh, it doesn't look good, and the animation barely exists. There were so many anime from that season that looked better, and not just the high profile shows, but even the low budget romcoms.
@@thomasffrench3639 It does look good, the art was consistently solid and there were plenty of moments with good animation. Just because it wasn't spectacular doesn't mean it was bad 🙄

@@patricktorres1292 yeah I did shoot myself in the foot by allowing weekly anime to enter the discussion, but that is inevitable. And Naruto has way better animation than Hell’s Paradise because it at least had some good animation.
In my opinion, in terms of image design, lighting, coloring and visual effects, Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 is better than season 2. It looks simpler. How did it happen?

Boruto team at studio pierrot was quite small they outsources 4/5 episodes to small unknouwns studios plus Boruto was a weekly long running show didn't help either.
