    Some things I picked:
-Don't leave trades on their own for hours.
    -Use stop losses.
-Pull the trigger when it goes against you.
    -Reverse wrong trades.
Basically is the opposite of investing for mid/long term. I reckon just few people can do the both successfully.

I was long Euro Swiss, also with a stop. But I got bored watching it trickle sideways. I thought of switching to Euro Yen. So I closed out Euro Swiss first, went to the bathroom, came back to my screens and my wife called out "Can you open this tin for me ?" So I go to the kitchen, the rim of the tin was damaged, so the only way I could open it was to punch a series of holes and then lifting out the lid by forcibly levering with a screwdriver...so I return to my screens...and lo and behold....the swiss pairs are suddenly in the process of a huge fast whipsaw....talk of a narrow escape ! Phew ! I was so freaked I went for a swim and didn't go near my monitors for two weeks, LOL.

Hello, I just heard about your loss in copper. I had something like that my self,
2 weeks ago the eur/gbp went up hard and I was buying for a long time and accumulating , soon after I close my trades I went to withdraw money that I worked for about 2 months.
I cant describe the feeling of happiness that I felt that evening, so I decided to go sit somewhere nice and enjoy the rest of the night.
I went to a small local café and sate there to enjoy the music and a beverage, at that time I felt EGO and I wanted to trade more...
I opened USOIL chart and checked the price and it was on a perfect run on the trend so I put a couple of shorts on it (price 88)
immediately 5 mins in my lose reached 3k dollars , and I was like fk me I cant take this lose the price went to high and it has to come down , I was confident about that because it was all time high, so literally while I was thinking this the lose went up to 4.5k , at that moment I started to have a mental melt down,
I literally felt dizzy and something burning inside my heart , I ordered the check and wanted to grasp some air outside,
after I left the café, I went home to see what happened on my position, when I checked it was 7k loss.
I didn't know what to do, I couldn't think, and couldn't breathe, I went to close my position on 7k loss, my finger was on the close button but I was hesitating
in this moment (3-5 sec hesitating) my loss went from 7k to 9k and I closed everything at oil price 90 and lost 9k :(
30 minutes later the price of oil went to 91.8 which is 8 years all time high, I could have been liquidated and double my losses.
The big loss taught me a lot , mostly I was not able to trade for couple of days because of the mental trauma, I felt anything I do will go wrong side.
but slowly went back to my strategy and started to pick up the pieces.
Hearing your story made me laugh a lot on my self and made it easy, THANK YOU FOR SHARING

Traders like alcoholics after a successful recovery therapy: losing discipline one time could destroy you fully and completely and beyond that. You never know when it come, what will be the trigger event(s) an how deeply affect your mental state, judgement, discipline. Once your guard down you smashed. The real difficulty is that your discipline is working hundred times day by day. You have the sense you are in control what is true, until it is not. Could you keep up discipline for five years, ten years day by day? Even if you could still have other dangers lurking on the corner as we heard, like software errors, black swan events, etc. Knowing these spec rules should be implemented and practiced daily to minimize the probability of discipline errors an other threats. An it is still not 100% safe system, far from that. Welcome in the trader's paradise!

Traders biggest enemy is trend flipping on A dime(e.g. 1H/lower time frame trend).Trend on 4H chart is the best trend guide for majority of forex traders( if one keeps trades for 2-5 days). By the time trader realizes that trend on daily chart is up, market has already gone up about 3-5 days & if you ask supercomputer for the mathematical odds, computer tells you that odds are negative right from the start.Trend based on the last 5-10,four hourly candles has enough players/juice behind it so that it would not flip on A dime, so trader has decent chance to make something without buying overpriced asset. We seek your wisdom?
