I don't know why, but somehow I can feel that Soohyun is almost going to cry. If you all watch closely at the end of this scene, Soohyun facial expression look sad, painful and trying so hard to hold his feelings. And his eyes, I can see that it is a bit watery. Poor him, he suffers from keeping his emotions inside, he looks like he's about to burst any moment. What I can decipher from Soohyun perspective in this scene is that, he felt sin, guilty and sad with his own life and situation right now. He also felt huge pain and sadness to Young Eun because, as you can see, even though she's curious and suspicious about him, she still put a lot of faith on him as her one and only precious friend and person in her life. She believes so much in him and that what makes Soohyun felt more sad. And with her smiling and trusting at him that way, it's getting harder for him every single moment. He didn't wish for their life and fate to meet like this. Both of them didn't ask for all of this. But, luck was not on their side I think. They live a life surrounded by horrible people and it kinda shape them as a person, to live in that kind of life. Their fate were in a dark and lonely road since the beginning. So sad for both of them, they deserve at least, a fair and peaceful ending.

Yes, I feel the same way too. It also seems like she knows it is him but, she is afraid that both of them especially her feelings will be in a painful state and left devastating. She's afraid to lose her only friend and person that she really miss, again. She doesn't want to be alone like 19 years ago when they were separated, that I can clearly see from her eyes. Although it may not seem obvious, but actually it does. Even though she determine and desperate to catch the killer, it is still very clear that she hope it is not HIM.
