You can see the pressure he puts himself under through each phrase and the release as he arrives at the end. Playing like this takes the whole soul, lots of energy.

I wouldn't call it underrated but it's definitely not overrated. Classical has been around for centuries and still is as popular as it always has been.
@@jelle7 I wouldn't say it's still as popular as it's always been, classical used to be like how pop is today, but nowadays it's not that common to listen to if you don't play an instrument especially
;ozart is like the finest porcelain, so easy to destroy. But this interpretation overcomes many style difficulties that feww others overcome. His trills are fantastic; yet I am not fond of his staccato. He finds an excellent solution to the singing phrase of the very first bars which should sound like vocal expression of a rainbow (Clara Haskil could do it best, Gregory Sokolov could do it worst). Oh, yes, his non-legato is brilliant clear, his finale-sin-coda really funny!
His continuous subtle, crisp pauses between phrases and tapering off of phrase endings is kind of exaggerated. These types of expressive devices are affectations and do not belong in Mozart playing (in my hopefully humble opinion). Otherwise - the young man has considerable musical talent.
A few errors in the final movement, due to its being played too fast. Everybody plays Mozart sonatas too fast, it seems, with the exception of Glenn Gould. Ending very abrupt. Entertaining rendition, but a bit of work still needed. Sorry, but I teach advanced piano.
Measure numbers, errors, and your corrective observations, "Maestro". Gould plays Mozart mechanically, as if he was playing Bach. And I Adore Gould's work. Agree: Post your rendition. Nehring's execution is flawless. Transcendent.
@@garyandrews7422 The advanced piano comment is entertaining but you can comment on a performance without being able to play better, the same goes for all the arts. I'm sure he plays better than his teachers. I can't play this flawlessly but this isn't flawless and that's totally fine the judges liked it enough obviously lol
@@eyalurimYour observation is that it isn't flawless, I have the score. Tell me where the specific mistakes are. If there are mistakes, and you are an "advanced" instructor, then tell us about them. If not, either you are a jealous liar, or your critique is merely one of Szymon's interpretation. And it is THAT which is actually entertaining. " Everybody plays Mozart sonatas too fast". You must be referring to your students. Post Szymon's mistakes here. Your "LOL" is inappropriate, after your "entertaining" comment. I am not laughing.
For me Mozart always writes too many notes. Dead boring piece. But I like his facial expressions. I can play every note of this sonata but not necessarily in the right order.

I. Allegro assai (0:21)

This is my go to version of this piece, such a controlled touch.
The most interesting Mozart I've heared recently. Simply wonderful.

Fabulous! Bravo Maestro Szymon! Spectacular performance.
What a wonderful performance.
彼のモーツァルト、初めて聴きました。素晴らしくて、とても心地よい気持ちにさせて頂きました👌🎶🎶👌😊
Nehring is a great talent!!! Bravo! Great sound coloring and superb pianissimo!!! Very good jury decision
Não sei como essa música não fez mais sucesso que a pequena serenata de Mozart, uma das primeiras sonatas desse gênio prodígio e a mais majestosa!
Perfection!!!
Absolutely!
He's really good. I really liked how he use the pedal specially
absolutely brilliant. Amazing phrasing touch and control. So much time love and effort went into this performance. utter total respect fine sir.
Bravo ….That Fazioli piano sounds awesome!
Charming! Meant to just watch the first A section and ended up listening to the entire first movement... You convinced me.
すごい!
Bellissima interpretazione. Bravo ! 👏👏👏
I loved it, I think Mozart would have loved as well. Well done!!
The guy is good especially with the pressure of his hand on the piano.

I feel his endings could have ended more subtle, rather than abrupt stops, that's just musically speaking, but otherwise, very pleasing to the ears

While Nehring's Allegro assai and Adagio are quite enjoyable, I'm much more fond of Alicia de Larrocha's precise and energetic staccato in Presto.

I hate to disagree with the comments here, but the Adagio seems way too fast to me, and thus without the pathos that Richter and Pires find.

Sounded like he missed some notes at the start, couldnt really enjoy hia sound since it was very tense. Just made me worry he was gonna mess up again.
