Love the kayak videos from my old stomping grounds. I live out west now and fish the Sierras and Northern California from a yak. Would enjoy a chance to fish there again. Well done.
I have fished for cobia there several times with various luck. Probably catch a cobia about every 3rd trip but we are going before the end of april so we can keep what we kill. I was told the best time is when the magnolias are in bloom. We usually tie up on the washboard where the bottom is undulating. its on the ocean side about 50yard from the bridge. We have had the best luck using cut chad we catch in the early spring up on the santee river. I didn't go to that spot this year. I have a 17 ft boat and anchoring is a pain and the current can be strong there. If you do hook a cobia I would expect you would be instore for a good boat ride esp if you hook a big female. I am no expert but its worth the trip from Summerville. If you ever want to fish Bulls bay let me know. I shore fish the north end of the island. Its a blast having the island to virtually yourself. Hooked a big spinner shark sunday along with 1 keeper red and 3 black drum. Love the videos and your progression. Later.
Thanks for the great videos.im still waiting on things to settle down hear in ohio.i really like fishing the broad rivet fishing pier. Look forward to your next video. I really enjoy them
I'm going out Saturday or Sunday for cobia. I'll probably use cut mullet or live bait. btw Have you thought of anchoring or fishing from the pilings. I know at higher tides you can actually stand on them.
cobia will chew on a bait flatten and scale it. If you have something chewing on it and it doesnt take it immediately leave the bait man because that cobia will come back to the bait. Also I would recommend a big bucktail jig for when they swim up to you because it will happen. Be careful out there man there are spots in the broad that are over 50ft deep not far from where you were. Hope that you get one soon. Also grab you a Gotcha brand jerk bait they slay the spanosh out there.
Whatsup man, Love the videos, been down in beaufort trying to catch some reds and trout and have only really been catching sharks and stingrays. Any suggestions of rigs and or different spots to try from land! Thanks!
Also, do you recommend fishing the middle of the river, or sort of in the 50 ft shallows. Thanks! Which day did you go out again? Might have seen you from my house.

Are there any baits beside cut shad that work well?
live menhaden and large pinfish are great baits if you can catch them

I tried to tie up to the pillings but the current was too strong to get a rope around them.
How about next time I bring my skiff from savannah and some live eels
Cool video man

That current looks serious idk if I'm ready for that lol but cobia is some good eating lol 👍
Get a sabiki rig to catch greenies. Cobia in broad river is hit or miss though
What about fishing from one of the pilings...?
Do mean tying to one of them?
@@BeaufortSCFishing No like standing on them and fishing? idk if that would work...just a suggestion

I honestly dont know what I am doing when it comes to cobia. I fished in about 30 to 40ft of water. this was on Saturday.
@@BeaufortSCFishing Yo! We were out their all day Saturday. I thought I saw a smaller red kayak. I caught 7 reds, 3 sharks, and a stingray btw.
@@BeaufortSCFishing I think I saw your kayak but had no clue it was you
How are you soo good
I'm really not lol
I find anchoring a pia in deep fast water. I would rather work the water while drifting. I know nothing about cobia fishing Thank you
