      +John May because the overwhelming majority of game cracks ARE malware, and it's been that way for a long time. in a world of f2p games, you have to be pretty stupid to just let them trojans on your pc... then to be mad about it when anti-virus software catches it >.

    • @johnmay5957
      @johnmay5957 7 років тому +1

      i disagree with you.. i have been using no cd cracks and such since i was using a windows 98 computer. never once did i have a problem with a or no cd patch as long as it came from a good source.. windows10 even deleted some of my patches for older games.. for example.. the original farcry had a problem with certain nvidia graphics drivers.. an official patch from ubisoft which fixed the graphics issue happened to be a patch windows 10 decided to delete. some of my original starcraft maps were deleted and character skins for quake 3 were targeted too.

    • @Missony74
      @Missony74 7 років тому

      I know that all executable file 'ar' some how a virus behavior - a crack is always shown as a virus but is just a modificated file you need to play x game - or run x software for free ! A real virus is detected to late so that - is - a real problem!

    If you do decide to use CCleaner, make sure you uninstall it as soon as you're done using it, as they are notorious for telemetry & data collection.
    My personal favourite is Revo Uninstaller, though you can only use the full version for a month or so at a time. I'd personally recommend buying the software anyway though as they're good people.

Why are there SO many garbage apps running in the background like CANDY CRUSH SODA SAGA?! there needs to be a way to turn off everything at once and then turn back on the ones you want so we don't have to click through a ton of apps. One of the best ways to speed up your computer is to add a second hard drive on which to save your games and files to, because adding a second drive makes use of the second address controller (you have at least four usually). That alone will double the access speeds of files because the computer can access system files and your files simultaneously. BTW, CCleaner FTW! Buy an SSD or two! Definitely run two hard drives. Also, use a latency monitor if you use your computer to make music.

    1. Regularly schedule deep defragments on your hard drive
    2. Clean your temp folder on a weekly/monthly basis
    3. If you're a bit more savvy with computers, try taking apart, cleaning, and re-assembling your computer. Dust is a fucking demon.
    4. While you're at it, static electricity on the motherboard tends to make it run better. Get a pair of gloves or something and rub them on the carpet, then quickly wipe them across the motherboard. Once you're satisfied, re-assemble the machine and it should work like a charm.
    If you do it wrong, don't blame me for damages.

    About disc cleaning, no app so far managed to clean C:/ as windows itself. Right click on C: and select properties(at the bottom). Then select disk clean. It will calculate some files then will show a window where you'll press clean system files. Let it calculate(for windows update files). Then select everything except recovery files (I recommend not to delete them in case of emergency). After this you can clean other junk files with any app on the market.
    Thanks for the tips in the video by the way. =)

    Haha, good ol ccleaner... I cant tell you how many times that program has helped me be the hero speeding up computers, clearing out the garbage and blocking malware and toolbars from starting up and allowing me to get rid of the problem. Registry cleaner in ccleaner is also a godsend. Occasionally has removed important registry items tho. Great video! Agree with just about everything.

  • @Dominic-du4ow
    @Dominic-du4ow 7 років тому +14

    I’d recommend against running registry cleaner. The Windows registry contains hundreds of thousands of entries; removing a few hundred (at most) won’t give you an increase in performance. Registry cleaners can accidentally remove important registry values.

    • @comptvlee
      @comptvlee  7 років тому

      +Dominic Plaza yeah I understand that standpoint completely but I don't think CCleaner would delete anything important

    • @KingpinRonin
      @KingpinRonin 7 років тому +1

      CCleaner shows you what it might delete and gives you the option of backup. It is convenient because it scans the registry for you, shows you potential unnecessary entries, and from there you can look them up and see what they do, or just hit the delete button and hope for the best. The amount of damage done depends on the user, as always.

    1. Disable windows defender through local group policy and install 360 total security and malwarebytes adwcleaner.
    2. Disable windows search service and superfetch service through services.msc, disable auto scheduled defragmentation, because disabling these services really speeds up the windows.
    3. Enable win32 long path in registry, uncheck hide file extensions for known file types in view options of file explorer, enable launch explorer windows in own process.
    4. If using vpn, make sure to disable webRTC in all browsers using add-ons.
    5. Disable administrative shares to enhance security.
    6. Install shareX for advanced screenshot.
    7. Install deskpins for pinning any window to always stay on top.
    8. Install auslogics boostspeed and tweak windows with its dozens of god level options you can never find in other softwares, and install auslogics driver updater.
    9. Install Picasa photo viewer for ultimate full screen transition based photo viewing experience.
    10. Install .Net framework 3.5 and 4.5 or above or enable through turn windows features on dialogue box. Many programs depend on it.
    11. Install all vc++ redistributable packages since version 2005 through 2018, also install x64 versions if the os is 64bit.
    12. Install MPC-HC full version, k-lite codec pack, divx including divx player with HEVC codec, ac3 audio decoder, QuickTime codecs and dfx audio enhancer for rich media experience.
    13. Install gif viewer, swf viewer, 7-zip, autoruns, Ccleaner, speccy, defraggler, recuva, ultracopier, unlocker, USB safely remove, clipboard fusion and synergy.
    14. Install clonezilla, AOMEI backupper, mini tool partition wizard, Erunt emergency recovery unit to take complete control of your files, applications and registry.
    15. Install portableapps from portableapps.com straight to the hard-disk or USB.
    16. Install and use peerblock as an additional firewall for ip based advanced blocking, install and use Tor browser if you know what you're doing.
    17. VyprVPN and PIA are good vpn services, make sure to enable vpn kill switch. Vpn flashed routers are handy.
    18. Install Dnsjumper to quickly flush and refresh dns cache and find fastest available public dns services and apply to all or specified network adapters.
    19. Install object desktop and rainmeter to change the look and feel of windows like never before, with these applications, UI and UX are heavenly experience.
    20. Install virtualbox to try out other OS and install bluestacks for ready-made android.

      I love widows 7,,most stable version i think, apart from XP what still used today!! Windows 10 sucks!! power and performance! Even my gaming tower does not like windows 10,,slows it down like mad,, dunno how some these cheap laptops run it? But yes it works OK from clean install, but becomes unstable after few months, dunno what i hate more 10 or vista!!

      @justinlion1422 6 років тому

      @@coffei4543 That maybe so, it does run well when on a clean install, also it does have some benefits. But iv'e noticed that after a month it will update and then drivers wont work, also antivirus software doesn't get along with it, and i don't depend on windows defender for viruses as i have detected many that defender did not! Also i don't think you should be forced or pestered to update when things are running smooth. Iv'e tried disabling start up apps and going into services and turning windows update off. But eventually it some how manages to restart the automatic updates. Why should you have to go through all the hassle of turning and closing applications down each time i want full performance for gaming, well am not a gamer as such am more into Microsoft flight simulator X and train simulator 2018, and windows 10 really does affect the performance, even when overclocked the GPU, and i have a GTX 1050 TI graphics card and a 12 core processor. Lets forget about gaming for now, and if you were to take 2 standard 2.5 GHz laptops that came with windows 10, and you install windows 7 one one of them, you will see how fast windows 7 will run compared to windows 10. Not only that but i like privacy!! and windows 10, well you might as well have Microsoft watching you, through your webcam if you have one. Lets say ill be a bit naughty and order lets say,,some duty free tobacco from overseas. I can 99 percent say that you will not receive it!! As Microsoft will report your activity and it will be seized!! My opinion is windows 10 is for Nonses out there!! it has been designed for these issues, like illegal activity will be reported no matter what it is you have done. Just to end it here,,why it it most offices and even the job centre are still using windows XP, instead of 10? if its that brilliant! But each one of us is different, and if you like windows 10 then good for you! But to me and many others windows XP and windows 7, are the most stable!! Koko albir,,i take it you like windows vista then lol?

    Number 1 Speed-up by far, night and day, buy an SSD for Windows and all your apps. Nowadays, 1 TB SSD's are 'affordable' (

    • @MLWJ1993
      @MLWJ1993 7 років тому

      D Jaquith I got a perfectly capable HDD on my 5 year old laptop which boots in about 25 secs after all those years. Just take proper care of your system and you won't need to have a SSD (not saying a SSD isn't a viable option).

      @DJaquithFL 7 років тому +1

      Mark Jacobs .. I can tell you with absolute certainty an SSD for both your Apps and OS is night and day faster. The SSD's are worth every penny.

      Or just go nas for the fastest expericance. Theres no loading just stright into stuff with nas, only downside is clearly it's online but that's the upside you can litterly hook onto any computer and get your files and put them on a system. If you're a offline person then M.2 SSD is the way to go. It completely outshine a standard ssd. Like I went to ssd and never looked back the too M.2 then to nas and man I can't even begin to tell you how it's changed my life lol

      @CrazyBikerGuy 6 років тому +2

      @@Teeb2023 So the OS goes too a nvme ( samsung 970 pro) and everything else goes to a NAS drive. It's the fastest way to current date. You just has to have a good enough network band width. 10gb speed is key for the fastest experience here. A 970 only does approx 3.5gb but that's not even half of what you can run a nas off. Trail and error building it all, but running off 10gb is just bonkers for home use. I never seen it in any place I've been too before work wise and now at home. Just makes life easier and also work from home, gets work done quick so bigger bounus at end of the month for me lol.

      Just download it here for free www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10 then buy a key on Kinguin. www.kinguin.net/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=windows+10 ;) Just make sure you buy a key for the version you installed. Also, you _can_ use it without a license key, but you'll just have a watermark at the bottom right of the screen that says "You need to activate Windows" or some crap like that. But you can still use most of the OS regardless.

    Luckily I always make use of the "backup the registry keys CCleaner is about the delete" feature and just found the backup file in the default My Documents location. I found the file and right-clicked it and used the merge option before restarting my system.
    The Blizzard app worked fine after the restart.
