  • Abduction holds a vivid place in our collective imaginations. The idea of being taken and possibly harmed is a terrifying one. We would likely do anything, pay anything, for a safe return. For that reason, kidnapping has been a staple for criminal organizations across the world, for as long as there have been people who can profit from it. Now with the rise of virtual kidnapping and the kidnapping of migrants, the global kidnapping trade is expanding even further.
    In The Business of Crime, VICE World News looks at different parts of the criminal economy, separating fact from myth. In this episode, we find out the reality of the global kidnapping boom.

    I almost got kidnapped in LA. Was walking in the evening with a friend and we turned down a sort of industrial area to check out the artwork/graffiti and suddenly this car drove up behind us and a van came and cut us off from the front. They opened the van and we’re acting hella creepy. My friend said keep walking and exchanged some words I don’t remember with the van guys. I truly believe if I had been alone and not with a male friend they would have tried to grab me into the van. I think the only thing that saved me is that they perhaps thought two of us were too much trouble vs single girl all alone.

      I got glassed and nearly blinded. The girl got off with a suspended sentence and I received £500 comp (which I only got £200 of, through £5 cheques every 6 months).
      She already had several other cases of assault in her home town, but escaped jail time due to her getting pregnant.

    Me and my brother almost got kidnapped while playing across the street from our house in the school parking lot here in Chicago suburbs. A Mexican lady pulled up in a silver caravan and said "come here, come here." Me and my brother started screaming and that scared her off. Then we ran across the street and told our parents who then called the police. Later that day we seen the same van with a cop chasing it on down the street by the corner. Don't know if she was arrested or what.

      A lot of buildings in NY have young kids buried in their founds. Up until like 60s I believe. And who knows if they stopped afterwards or just got better at hiding it.
      It’s originally a pagan ritual that many convert Irish/Scottish Catholics followed for centuries even after their conversion.
      Just like how Christmas and Halloween r originally pagan, but adopted into Christianity. Many parts of original pagan cultures were absorbed into Christianity . Like how our calendar is egyptian and most of the the months r Greek god names; July and august were name after Julius ceaser and Augustus Ceaser. Maths is from Hindus brought to Europe by Arabs. So many English words r also Hindu. Many of Bible stories r also similar to pagan stories.
      Even some greek gods originated from Hinduism. Thor for example is very similar to Indra in Hinduism. They both carry hammer and wield lightening. And both followed similar storyline about killing certain monster and have similar character.

    Tip: If you are being contacted by a kidnapper via phone, the first thing you do is hang up. If he/she calls again, then you are dealing with a real kidnapper. While virtual ones would randomly find another victim to scam, the real ones have to heavily rely on friends or relatives of the victim to obtain the ransom.
    To be extra sure, demand the kidnapper that they talk to the victim directly and be sure to ask for very specific details on how the kidnapper want the ransom to be paid.

    I know this is controversial, but it seems the best way to eliminate this problem is to stop paying the ransoms. Yes, some may die, but these kidnappings will continue to happen as long as the criminals are paid. A handful of deaths now will prevent millions more from experiencing torture, grief and death in the future.

    • @mucholangs
      @mucholangs 2 роки тому

      It is easier said than done though. If a family can afford the ransom, they'd prefer to pay to rescue a loved one.
      The other aspect you forget is that many kidnappers sell their victims if no payment is received.
      In the worst cases, satanic kidnappers dismember their victims, and sell their body parts for rituals.

    The problem is the governments won't allow the families to avenge their loved one who either suffered and lived or suffered and died. Instead, they want the kidnappers to live in a jailhouse where the tax payers keep them alive and healthy. The families should be the ones to deal out the punishments to the kidnappers and rid the world of the vermin.

    • @PresidentialWinner

      Makes sense but there are a few things there; 1. Illegal 2. They already do this with dogs, kidnappers disable the device fairly quickly so if this was common practice with children, the same would happen here 3. What kind of device? It needs to be safe, have a long battery life, GPS signal etc. Can't be big and has to be implanted.
      I bet the new Neuralink brain device will actually be able to do all this, legally, with no health risks, and have all the necessary capabilities.

      You a trip if you believe what you just commented. There’s people that get off on peoples fear and get off on killing people, Child molesters and rapist care little for their victims and There’s plenty o rich and elite indulging in these actions. There just needs to be harsher punishments and more aggressive search an rescue missions. I’m all for cameras everywhere in public spaces, open carry should be a thing and it’s common sense that crime would drop significantly if everyone was carrying.

    • @TheGoodContent37
      @TheGoodContent37 2 роки тому +3

      @@incelisshowing3247 No, you are wrong. Even when there are a couple of complete psychopaths that would do what you say they represent the extremely small minority. Like less than the 1% of total potential kidnappers.
      Also your solution is uselss and has been proven ineficient for hundreds of years. Punishment only makes criminals smarter, the thing that pushes them to commit crimes still exists. The best aproach is to give better life quality and equality to everyone so they see as more dangerous or not worth it to risk their lifes and livelihood commiting crimes.
