You notice there are not many groups or bands today. Whether it's by design, I don't know. You remember listening to the radio, & if a song wasn't extremely hot on the charts, you had to wait 3 or 4 hours before you heard that song again.

Most of the black artists back then and even before were victim to "counter marketing" It is where whatever residuals and profit were made from the black artists records were then used to promote and market white pop artists instead of reinvesting back into the black artists. These schemes were widely used in the industry. Name 5 black male artist from Atlantic records that were HUGE from at least 25 years back. Dont worry... I'll wait.

They killed it!! I still watch this video to reminisce. Now that I’m 56 and I still trying to practice the dance moves but of course I can’t keep up now just like I couldn’t keep up then!
