Sure - both fight and have bad times but it's like a marriage. Stay together in good and bad times.
I know it's a zombie apokalypse show... I feel pure love between them but they are scared.
Scared to loose the other if he/she don't feel the same, scared one of them dies like the other couples they know.

If they do have to kill them - it would be better for them to die together, in battle. Neither would want to be without the other at this point
I imagine in the finale Carol gets severely injured and she thinks she is gonna die but Daryl says she won't and tells her that he loves her and that she needs to live for him and the he kisses her picks her up and takes her to a doctor and its a close call and when she wakes up he starts crying of happiness and then she tells him that she loves him and kisses him then cut
