The rain really did set the perfect atmosphere for a castle in current decay. I think my favorite hiding spot was in the latrine, I don’t think anyone would even bother to look down there. The castle was awesome man
Holy shit man. I'm a student at the University of Cambridge. This looks exactly like Queens' College here. This is wild. This captured the vibe of the period so so so well. Well done
Oooo, this looks great! I know the video you referenced - lot's of priest-holes (for Catholics, as they were pursued because the Henry VIII founded the Church of England to get out of his marriage and obtain the wealth of the ~900 dissolved monasteries) there. And the rain fits because it makes it feel English, of course.
Nice video! This texture pack and build and the rain and sprites and everything is just so perfect! This is what my Minecraft builds looked like when I was daydreaming as a kid
Whoa, I'm really impressed how you gradient and texture the flat surfaces😮 If you ever do a "behind the scenes" on your thought process when texturing, I'd love to see it. Insane dude
The whole atmosphere in this place hits so hard, and there was one special moment. When you enter the perimeter of the castle walls, look up at the castle with the rain and cloudy sky in the background, and there are all these little details that make the place actually feel abandoned, that was special. At that moment, not only did it look like a photograph of a real abandoned castle, but it also fit the vibe so well, the scene was powerful. I don't know how hard it is to implement weather features, how customizable they are, how many options you have, but I truly hope to see more use of the environment in future projects and videos, even if it's slight changes in atmosphere between Sangraqur and Osterham, not necessarily a difference of "rain and sun", I think it would go a long, long way in terms of atmosphere. I hope these are features that can be designed for each place, so that if someone explores Ushea, the weather changes gradually so that every place will be visited with the appropriate weather. This castle always in rain, Sangraqur always blazing hot, Osterham... Whatever! As long as there's a unique vibe for each area. As usual, Viggo, a masterpiece of a creation.
The imagination and creativity it is insane. Absolutely jealous, i would never be able to produce something like this. It really is a power to be able to do this, i love to see it.
I've been watching your videos for a while and I love your builds and the lore that comes with them. I think this is the one that's finally going to make me break down and download Conquest Reforged. It's so gorgeous.
Beautiful work! A small correction: what you called "banners" in this video are actually coats of arms (or, more simply, arms). I love the one you created for the Lords of Darton Hall, it's heraldically correct and everything! I suggest you read some brief material on heraldry to make a medieval world feel all the more alive.
Looks amazing! I live just down the road from Harvington Hall! The priests they hid were catholic, not protestant. Interestingly, the family that owned it were involved with the gunpowder plot and harboured the fugitives, who were also incidentally catholic.
What an absolutely amazing and cool looking castle! The decaying adds so much ambience But wouldn't there be something like a grate where the water enters/exits the castle I don't fully know, but i guess it would have made sense? Otherwise thieves could sneak in quite easily
You should really build a castle that is under siege! Have buildings destroyed, with makeshift defenses like wooden wall coverings or ambush spots inside the city, and enemy siege defenses and trenches coming up to the walls, with tunnel wing efforts underway and a camp for the attackers to live in and black supplies from reaching the castle!
The video you’re referencing is by a channel called “thehistorysquad” and they’ve done tours of several castles. While Harvington Hall is a fortified manor house and not technically a castle, I love the idea of building realistic medieval castles with inspiration taken from fortified manor houses and Tudor architecture. Darton Hall is such a haunting and beautiful castle. Great video! Additionally, Harvington Hall had secret rooms to hide Catholic priests at a time when Catholicism was under persecution by the Protestants in England. I think you got that tidbit switched up. For anyone interested, here’s the link to the video about Harvington Hall by thehistorysquad. ua-cam.com/video/lDI2XoNfJnQ/v-deo.htmlsi=PE7-S3bYoQWQ5yik
sorry for spoiling the fun but, if this was supposed to be a real defensive castle reliance on one sorce of water is a major threat in case of conflict. The enemy forces might just pour poison down the stream and it would be bad. So I would love to see a addition of a well. Over all amazing build i wish i was able to build something like that. Thanks for the amazing video
The issue I have with this is, its so cozy, yet no way to enjoy it together on an RP server or anything. So sad when this mod offers such a great game.
Amazing video, But when i tried to go to the server to look around, it says that theres a bunch of items missing even though I'm in the Conquest Reforged pack. Do you have the exact pack that the server is using on CurseForge?
I'm trying to join your server via Modrinth, but after installing the 1.19.2 version of conquest reforged modpack, it's saying i'm missing a few more mods (victory mod was listed). Is there specific modpack for your server?
I like the way it looks, but i honestly think the texture packs and mods take away from it. Part of why i like Minecraft builds is that they’re built with familiar parts and within certain limitations you have to work creatively around, but with these textures its hard to tell which is which and it doesn’t feel like Minecraft. It’s an amazing looking build, just wanted to give some genuine criticism.

Thanks alot man
Viggo is a redstoner?!? So proud!
Darton Hall is outstandingly beautiful in the ambience, looks incredible man
Lol! I actually did alot of redstone back in the days

Man this may be my favorite viggoman build ever
The lore the hideouts the rain setting it's just perfect
Good job man 👏
So glad you liked it! Thanks

Haha! Super english feeling! Thanks

Very nice build, Viggo. love the texturing!
Thank you
The thumbnail doesn't look like minecraft at all, this is perfect
The rain was perfect and the overgrowth looked awesome
Thank you

Thanks! I’ll note that for a potential video idea

Thank you for this comment! I’m not sure its possible to have weather locally, but I can make it uniquely for the videos for sure

Thank you! I believe in you, give it a try
what a beautiful castle, and cool story.
Thanks alot
I love layout. I like slope within the atrium. I think you've placed this structure in the right location.
Thank you
Incredible history of the place, owesome !
Awesome lore. Really adds to the build and makes it super unique
Thank you
Amazing build this is crazy
Thank you
beautiful castle!🔥
Thanks
Incredible texturing work Viggo!
Thanks

Thank you so much
This is really cool man, the hideaways are a great idea and I like their implementation
The weathering is also really nice
Banger video as usual
Thanks alot
This is such an interesting project i love it
Thank you
Wow amazing job! I really like the lore and decay of the castle
Thank you
It would be awesome to get recommendations on castle channels you use to learn layouts and floor plans
I will try to leave links when I got a video as inspiration for future vids

Aaah! Fun little detail
21:57 i have an idea, you could put a button on top of the highest crate, so it’s functional but still hidden
What a masterpice 😍😍
Thanks
Beautiful
Thanks
What a nice castle, really. I wasn't able to tell it was Minecraft, seeing the miniature of the video...
insane, beauty
Thanks

Otherwise thieves could sneak in quite easily
That makes sense, i’ll add that
WOW, I really like it❤❤❤
Thanks
amazing build and really well planned!
Thanks alot
21:55 : I think you can make the secret door less obvious if
A) you put the lever in a hidden place
B) you replace the lever by a button
This world could make a great setting for a book
Lets get GRRM on this
@@Viggoman 👀 that would be super cool
Cant believe this is Minecraft what a work of art using these mods
Looks awesome!! Would be cool if there was a small town next to it?
Hmmm, it would, but not for now I think
Omg this guy from the Tudor castle…. He is so freaking handsome❤

True! The lines between fortified manors and castles are often blurry, but I agree. Thank you
Would love to see this with distant horizons ❤
only viggoman calls "the project of my life" a "small side project" in his discord.
Thats scary
Haha! A compared to other projects I work on most stuff is small lol
Please, more European architecture!
That will for sure come
Cool

Thats a good point🤔
Do people know what version of conquest this is because I’m still on the Darwin servers and non of this stuff is there
This is the newest version, 1.20 with believe mod and victory mod. You can download the custom modpack from my discord
The issue I have with this is, its so cozy, yet no way to enjoy it together on an RP server or anything. So sad when this mod offers such a great game.
You can get on the server tho and look at it yourself
Amazing video,
But when i tried to go to the server to look around, it says that theres a bunch of items missing even though I'm in the Conquest Reforged pack. Do you have the exact pack that the server is using on CurseForge?
You also need some more mods. You can download the instance with all the correct mods from my discord
👍👍👍
what shader are you using? Also you're very talented!
Do all of these builds get built in different parts of the same world or are they in separate worlds entirely?
Same world, different kingdom. This is built in Meria, and Sangra’Qur is built in Dokar etc
I'm trying to join your server via Modrinth, but after installing the 1.19.2 version of conquest reforged modpack, it's saying i'm missing a few more mods (victory mod was listed).

For what version of game you using Conquest Reforged? Also what are these shaders?
How do you get those little blocks and frames?

conquest reforged version?
Whats shaders are these?

@@Viggoman Thanks how do you fix the connected textures being weird with the grass and water?
