Mother Water Buffalo & Her Newborn Calf

This video documents an early encounter between #7082 (first freshener) and her heifer calf, Emma, who was born on Friday, June 24 between 9-10 p.m. She weighed 90 pounds. The buffs are residents of Windshadow Farm & Dairy of Bangor, MI, owned by Ron and Suzanne Klein.

She is beautiful and hef calf is a cutie although I has the misconception that buffaloes mothers would be very protective of their newborns . Although you didn't walk to close to her I was suprised she tolerated you even that close , Well we learn something new everyday and maybe this momma was an exception. Mom was just trying to teach the baby too follow her ,it is very important for them in the wild because of predators and its a natural instinct 😊

Reincarnation in my experience water buffaloes are very disciplinary mothers, they love their calves but they don't spoil them. They lick them only just after birth.

Mother buffaloes are not like mother cows. They love their calves and are very protective of them but they don't spoil them. Infact unlike cows you cannot kidnappe a Buffalo's calf and expect her to give milk.

BackAndStillBgMsDangerus Dangerus no she has not. They just act like this. They do not behave like cows. They just check whether their calves are safe or not, they actually love their calves but they don't spoil them.
