Tommy Morrison is a bassoonist with a passion for collaboration and learning. A Northern New Jersey native, he has been serving in the role of Principal Bassoon with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and Hawaii Opera Theater since 2017. He recently performed as guest Principal Bassoon with the Colorado Music Festival, and was featured in a recital on Classic King FM Seattle’s Northwest Focus Live. Tommy is a founding member of the Noctua Wind Quintet, an ensemble that has garnered top prizes from the Fischoff, Coleman, and Yellow Springs chamber music competitions. As a passionate educator, Tommy is on faculty of the Punahou Music School, The Pacific Music Institute, and the Mānoa School of Music and Art, in addition to being a frequent clinician for the Hawaii Youth Symphony.
