The 640 is definitely my favourite van. I love the mid bathroom layout and if I was looking for a new van this would be a contender. Never been a huge fan of Bailey's but this range looks like a winner.
It may well be an entry level van but for the price looks superb value to me. We have been looking out for a van with this layout that has a full length lounge that can be used as 2 singles as well as a full length rear bed too and have struggled to be honest. the fact that it comes in well under our max mltpm and wouldnt need to upgrade our tow car would be a massive selling point too. At this price it would allow us to tweak and add on a few extras, as its probably 4 to 5 grand cheaper than other vans we were considering. It may not be perfect for everyone but I cant wait to take a look at one when it hits the showrooms !! I think we may be saying goodbye to our beloved GT60 ranger soon
Looks nice, but I still don't like the hob up against a side wall, how is anyone going to use the rear right if the others are being used, without getting heated handles.
Oh no - I have found a new layout I like. I have been happy with my Pursuit 430/4 for all this time and now they do this. Am going to have to be careful when I go to the NEC now.
Nice van. Shame no duel hob, we never use all the rings at same time, so we'd be happy with a 3 ring hob and have extra worktop space, would like ATC as standard too. If doing stable doors, wish manufacturers would do a split fly screen too. You can't use both at the same time in the current designs.
I have a 2017 Bailey 560-5 and I love it. I like the bunks and the dinette. I do however like this 640. Very nice. Why dont they just make all the lights with a USB socket? Weird.
Had one for a year. Only downside so far is the mattress. IT IS LIKE CONCRETE !!!!! We had a Pursuit prior to this and the (french style) mattress was perfect comfort wise but we noticed on pre purchase how hard mattress on this van. . Mentioned this to saleswoman at Lowdhams, Huddersfield, reply was “buy a mattress topper”. Real helpful that. (Not). Asked if there was a choice of softer mattresses. Told no, what you see is what you get but rest of van just as we wanted so purchased. Now, I am a military vet and a tankie to boot and have slept on tank engine decks so if you are used to sleeping on the ground or decks of tanks, the mattress would be perfect for you. First weekend out was sleepless so had to fork out a couple of hundred quid for a mattress topper on return home. So be warned, damn good caravan, rubbish mattress !!!!! We
Saturday, 21st july, 2018 dan goes back to the future to finally find the new family caravan. :-) boss review dan, wishing you and your family good luck in your search for your replacement caravan. :-) vinny.
Not quite sure how you've arrived at that conclusion, but I can confirm you indeed.... wrong lol. We discuss the 640 in an upcoming update video, stay tuned for that - that should help.

Looks like your next van Trudgians, and possibly ours, like the kitchen layout and bedroom!
I don’t get the mains hookup outlet being on the awning side. Do manufacturers not realise that we want to connect everything on the off side??
Your perfect caravan Dan! Cheers Oliver
This should be on your list.

Very professional review Dan. Well done.
Could the be your next caravan? It ticks all the boxes except for the lack of a dual fuel hob and TV bracket. The Swifts were also strong contenders.
Great overview of the 640 Dan. This would be our choice of layout, however i’ve got used to Alde heating now! cheers Martin 👍
This is lovely! We've only had our 9 year old swift 4 months but I'm already thinking of upgrading x
How many box's will this now tick Dan..

Love the bailey floor plan great value for its price! Dan.

Oooh, I do like that one. 😍
Not a fan of the drab fabric I’m afraid. Does the loo door close against the loo room to allow full sight from lounge to bedroom?
Something a bit brighter perhaps ? what colour would you think it should go with ?
take care
Dan
It’s a difficult one as i guess it’s good for keeping clean for a family, too much lighter and will it risk showing marks?
Is this one on your list of possibilities Dan?
It never really was, but after today, who knows....
I'm confused about the change in tack as well. Nice van though. What about the missing TV bracket and the list you had?
Just a review of the brand new caravans from Bailey today - nothing more than that, not a part of our buying series.

Like the look of this one, but I’m put off straight away by the electric hook up point position, bad design having that stuck out in the awning. 👍🏼👍🏼
I agree, it does seem to stick out quite a lot.
D
Beautiful van

Just as I buy a new van they bring a brand new one out I really like 🤦♀️ bad timing or what
nice review
No tv brackets
ha no, and nowhere to store a device if using a USB charging point either...
Might just be suitable for you
Are you trying to tell us your getting a new Bailey? a 640? At a reduced rate😉🤣
Not quite sure how you've arrived at that conclusion, but I can confirm you indeed.... wrong lol.

See what you mean by the cushions making you go cross eyed 😵 they world need to go
Those cushions yuk...
3rd ahhhh not mint lol
Sorry m8 that looks cheap and nasty for the money horrible colour decals out side the van looks like bottom of the range

Completely agree.
I agree the nearside hook up is very odd
