As someone with photosensitive epilepsy, THANK YOU so much for the flashing lights warning. I had enjoyed a few of your videos and that warning caused me to subscribe. That is more helpful than you can imagine. I know other medical conditions are sensitive to those things as well, and I truly, from the bottom of my heart appreciate the sensitivity. I have asked other content creators to do something similar in the past, and either my comments went unread or were ignored. My service dog thanks you, too, as she’s happily napping and didn’t have to stop her nap to work. Love the plants, love your personality. Keep up the good work.
This is probably one of your best videos everyone struggles at sometime or another. This actually gives regular people that not everything is perfect and without a challenge even an expert such as yourself. Thank you for doing this video.
Gorgeous Albo 😍 Totally agree with cutting the arial roots, I’ve seen so many times them wrapped in a circle in water an they rot every time. 💚 Excited to see updates.
That plant is still so gorgeous!!!!!! How fun to propagate all those cutting to make some money! I definitely can’t wait to sell some Albo Monstera cuttings. I need to start having my plants make some of my money back 😂
I paid a LOT of attention to what you've said before about variegation on cuttings and took my time choosing what I thought could be an awesome albo. Still waiting for a new leaf since I haven't had it long, but the potential is there for it to be beautiful. Just wanted to say thanks for giving me the info I needed to give me the best shot of getting what I wanted. 😊
I love the quest of looking at albo stems for strong variegation. Thank you so much for all the detailed information and videos on it, and for being so real and down to earth. Would love a video on planting propogations….ie methods of water vs semi hydro vs aroid mix, stem planted above/below substrate, pros and cons of each. The info of long aerials having more potential for rot was super helpful since it seems counterintuitive (and just happened to one of my props). Thank you for wonderful content.
I really enjoyed the video. I didn't know how to propagate variegated plants before and your video has showed me how and where to propagate. Thank you so much for the video.
I absolutely love this style of video. The more I can learn, the better I feel about my abilities to be a better plant parent. Yes, please add tags with your predictions, that will be so cool to see how spot on you are! 💚
So I knew about the variegation in the petioles and how the buds work, etc., but somehow I never connected the dots that the variegation of the next leaf translates very literally to the position of the variegation on the node itself (even though it's so intuitive and obvious now that I've heard it said). You did an excellent job of explaining it, thanks for droppin' that knowledge!
This is a really helpful video for someone like me who wants to take the plunge into an albo! Someone in Chicago is selling a plant half this size (and much leggier) for $7,000 USD!
I’ve bought two wet sticks to grow on. One less variegated and one more variegated. I’m quite enjoying the less variegated one at the moment! It’s growing much faster and has some lovely patterns in the leaves.
After binge watching a lot of your videos and taking in what you've said about albos and thai... I have just this week added both to my collection! 4 leaf albo all leaves with fenestration and 50/50 (ish) variagation has taken me so long to find, knew what to look for thanks to your videos ❤
Literally bought myself an albo from my garden centre last week and the newest leaf is like that top cut 💚 I avoid half moons, not just because of propping but also because if the white burns you only have half the leaf left
I literally just chopped my standard monstera for this very reason. It hasnt liked its new home and ive neglected it. I left the roots and a couple leaves in hopes it will grow back. Crossn my fingers yours doesnt rot while on vacay.❤
Good news! I've cut my long boy roots when I was propagating and they do in fact still root from them when cut back. I actually just cut my hanging roots to about the full length of my hand and I wrapped a bag of sphagnum moss over it so it could get itself prepared for the next big chop
LOVED this video! I personally like the same kind of variegation you do for the same reasons. That said, everyone has their own look they are in to. But I just get annoyed with half moons or mostly white dying off. Would love to see an update on these too! I like updates. ❤
I would love to see the process of you cutting them up further and putting them into trays!! I've never had luck with stem propagation and would really like to learn from your process ❤
Thanks for sharing your knowledge of propagation and the process of considering the potential of the monstera. Would love a prediction follow-up on these cuttings.
I’d love to see the prediction follow ups. I actually bought a cutting like the 15% cutting you showed. I must say, the variegation is lovely. Lots of speckling and white or cano variegation. I chose that cutting as I rather have an evenly variegated specimen. The stems are nicely variegated though. Have fun on your vacation
I have watched your video yesterday and it already helped me so much. I fell in love with an adansonii variegated and I have closely inspected the leaves today and already learned so much about the half moon and what to expect of the next leave!
The half moon problem happened to me recently, i bought a half moon monstera and it got cold damage. I was able to save only a small part of the plant with 3 growing points, they were at the line where green and white meet but when they activated i have 2 fully white and 1 fully green. Next on my wishlist is a Monstera Mint, i hope i will have more luck with it since the mint part should be less problematic compared to fully white variegation. Now i only have to wait for the prices to drop at a resonable level :D
I like half moons and I tend to go for lower variegated because I love a challenge and it has been rewarding watching it get more variegated lately. I have another that’s almost 0 variegated (I knew the risk) and I used it to practice propagating
A half moon monstera is my absolute DREAM plant. I know the risk and I'm here for it. But I haven't gotten one yet bc I'm afraid I'll burn the leaf too easily. Waiting until I'm more experienced to finally pull the trigger on it. I would love to see an update on your predictions! And progress updates on the growth in general. What did you plant them in? I don't really know how to propagate plants and I want to learn. I'm too scared to try on my own still! Thanks for explaining your thoughts and I enjoyed it being informal :)
Personally I love it the way it is, it’s actually way nicer than what I was expecting given your comments. If your not happy with it then can understand why you want to chop it 👍
Yeah I avoid half moons, I want a good spread of striping on the stem / node. I actually prefer really marbled var anyway aesthetically! I too would be interested in a follow up to see how these go! Var has such an element of luck involved!!
I think it would be better if the leaves had matured more; more secondary fenestrations. I wrap mine tightly to the pole and it climbed and matured in a few leaves. Please do that to the new cuttings! Beautiful plant, I'm so curious about how these cuttings will grow. I have a few props of mine i started last year and they are so much fun 😊
I wished I would have known this useful information before I wasted money on a pink princess.. however I am really ok if my monstera is mostly green.. Thank you for sharing this video
This is probably a silly question but... Is cutting lower and then separating the cutting into smaller cuttings better? I always do that, thinking that I'm hurting the plant less to make one cut away from the main root and then separating vs cutting each smaller section from the top down.
half moon top cut is probably okay to buy though right? bc new growth doesn’t come from the bud… it’s just when you cut it that it’s an issue? also what happens if you cut right through the bud on a 1 leaf cutting? SOL?
I made 6 cutting of my albo and all the halfmoon went green and the other ones with diffused variegation are BEAuTYfuL! I would agree with all u said with the petiule thing …
What do you pot your Monstera props in? With the fleshy Ariel roots can you do a mix of leca and perlite or pon? I usually do on perlite or pon but because Monstera roots are so thick I wondered if leca would be better for staving off root rot?
I have been on the hunt for a Monstera Albo for sometime I would like Halfmoon, but vera gated is probably all I’m going to find. Do you sell yours and are yours as expensive as everyone else. Any suggestions for me because I can’t afford $100 for a small piece but I love them they’re beautiful.
I got an albo cutting a while back. The leaf is like… 40% moon, so not full moon, and the green was nicely spotted. BUT… the bud quickly went to the « wrong » side, so now… it’s growing a (I’m pretty sure, it’s not fully out yet) full white leaf. Luckily, I still had nodes with quite a bit of green on the stem so fingers crossed!
You once said that you are making a video on how to tell the difference between the large form monstera and the smaller monstera have you made this video yet? if so could you please send me a link I haven't found it but I'd love to watch it! Your content is awesome & keep kick a$$... also do you ship to United States preferably Phoenix Arizona what is the state I live in?
Not sure why you would take cuttings now, knowing you'll be away for 2 weeks & they could not be in best condition (or dead) by your return. 🤔 Why not just wait till you get back?
I wish you would allow yourself some grace and kindness. 2020 was a pandemic afterall.. and you were running a thriving business for all of us who needed plant therapy.
This is why I won't buy one, this and the reverting issue..to me it's not worth the hefty price. Beautiful yes but not worth it to me. There's too many other plants with Beautiful variegation.
I would absolutely love a prediction follow up on these cuttings. I'm a nerd for that kind of stuff.
Same.
Same
Same!

As a photosensitive migraine sufferer, I'd like to second this entire comment, even though I'm really late :)
This is probably one of your best videos everyone struggles at sometime or another. This actually gives regular people that not everything is perfect and without a challenge even an expert such as yourself. Thank you for doing this video.

Loved this laid back yet super informative video style Kaylee! Keep us posted on how the cuttings do! 💚

I really enjoyed this video, thank you for showing you beautiful monstera and explaining so well
Love your videos. By far the best, most accurate info on UA-cam. Even your opinions are well founded. Kudos on that. Big fan, keep up the great work!

Love the shirt Kaylee!80’s kid here and big fan of the movie😊.

Thank u! This video explained how 2 prop good variegation very well & in a way I THINK I understand. Very helpful! 🤎
I literally just chopped my standard monstera for this very reason. It hasnt liked its new home and ive neglected it. I left the roots and a couple leaves in hopes it will grow back. Crossn my fingers yours doesnt rot while on vacay.❤
Such a helpful video. I kept on pausing this to look at my albo to determine what next leaf’s variegation would be.
Good news! I've cut my long boy roots when I was propagating and they do in fact still root from them when cut back.
I actually just cut my hanging roots to about the full length of my hand and I wrapped a bag of sphagnum moss over it so it could get itself prepared for the next big chop

Your videos are a highlight of my Saturday mornings ))) Love you, love your shop, love everything about you!
Thank you for explaining how variegation works!!!
Ok, I know you have really high standards but this is still a beautiful plant. Especially from two steps back :)
I thought the same thing! I still thought it was gorgeous
From someone without an Albo, I would be over the moon obsessed if my plant looked like that!! It’s beautiful ❤
Loved this video, actually one of my favourites of yours of all time- it was super interesting and learnt heaps!
I’d love to see the prediction follow ups.

Would love to see an update. And to see if your predictions are correct. She is a beauty crisp and all. I will be inspecting mine now ❤
Thank you. So helpful to see all the details. Appreciate your opinions.
I have watched your video yesterday and it already helped me so much. I fell in love with an adansonii variegated and I have closely inspected the leaves today and already learned so much about the half moon and what to expect of the next leave!
Have a lovely well deserved holiday. Xxx
Very informative video! I learned so much! Also, your makeup is always on point.
What a great teaching video thank you so much!
THANK YOU! This video is so very helpful.
Such a lovely gnarly albo you got there. Please update on the propagations!
The half moon problem happened to me recently, i bought a half moon monstera and it got cold damage. I was able to save only a small part of the plant with 3 growing points, they were at the line where green and white meet but when they activated i have 2 fully white and 1 fully green.

whats more wholesome and relaxing than watching you cutting up 3-4 giant monstera albo and imagining all the potential
So informative! Thank you for sharing!
I like half moons and I tend to go for lower variegated because I love a challenge and it has been rewarding watching it get more variegated lately. I have another that’s almost 0 variegated (I knew the risk) and I used it to practice propagating

Love the shirt ❤
Personally I love it the way it is, it’s actually way nicer than what I was expecting given your comments. If your not happy with it then can understand why you want to chop it 👍
regardless of the burn its really pretty from a close distance its really not that bad
I love your crispy monstera. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this informative video!
I personally love around a 25% variegation on leaves.
But beautiful albo. I'll one day get a monstera for myself!
Yeah I avoid half moons, I want a good spread of striping on the stem / node. I actually prefer really marbled var anyway aesthetically!

You needed to do this for your soul LOL!!!!!!! I’m proud of you, KE!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Love the video, hope to see updates !
I loved this video!
I wished I would have known this useful information before I wasted money on a pink princess.. however I am really ok if my monstera is mostly green.. Thank you for sharing this video
I would love to order a cutting of this! I need an albo still.
I had to take cuttings from young plant, which is now 1 year old. But so far none of the leaves has fenestration 🙁. What can I do?
i'd love go see a follow up video on these cuttings!
This is probably a silly question but... Is cutting lower and then separating the cutting into smaller cuttings better? I always do that, thinking that I'm hurting the plant less to make one cut away from the main root and then separating vs cutting each smaller section from the top down.
TYSM for that flashing light warning. You're the bees knees!
Omg the Neverending Story!
How are you propagating these, I tried in moss a few years ago and they all rotted I lost all my cuttings :(
half moon top cut is probably okay to buy though right? bc new growth doesn’t come from the bud… it’s just when you cut it that it’s an issue?

“Potential unassisted albo rot.” 🤣🤣🤣
Yes please. I would love watch a research video. Please tag with your thoughts.
Can we get an update on the cuttings?
My Albo’s last 2 leaves were half moons and I don’t know what’s going to happen next.
I got an albo cutting a while back. The leaf is like… 40% moon, so not full moon, and the green was nicely spotted. BUT… the bud quickly went to the « wrong » side, so now… it’s growing a (I’m pretty sure, it’s not fully out yet) full white leaf. 😂 “this is why i haven’t done this” we literally don’t mind LETS GOOOOO *insert Michael Scott* “snip snap snip snap” ✂️
Did you say how many plants are in that pot?
You once said that you are making a video on how to tell the difference between the large form monstera and the smaller monstera have you made this video yet?
if so could you please send me a link I haven't found it but I'd love to watch it!
Your content is awesome & keep kick a$$... also do you ship to United States preferably Phoenix Arizona what is the state I live in?
How are the props doing? Are they for sale yet?
To be fair… I’ve been singing the never ending story theme song since this.. thank you lol my Albo is slightly like my Valcor 😂
can we get an update!? please.
Is that a Spiritus sancti hanging behind you on the right?
Please give us updates.
I can't believe that is the same monstera!!!
❤❤
Do you prefer Albo or Thai?
My half moon propagated extremely consistently got a friend
Why don’t you just wrap it with spagnum? It won’t rot, and when you get back you have some lovely root growth
Unsolicited advice that you were probably already gonna do, but consider putting an aquarium pump tube in the water of the cuttings?
Not sure why you would take cuttings now, knowing you'll be away for 2 weeks & they could not be in best condition (or dead) by your return. 🤔 Why not just wait till you get back?
Ummm philodendron part 2???
I wish you would allow yourself some grace and kindness. 2020 was a pandemic afterall.. and you were running a thriving business for all of us who needed plant therapy.
Can i have just 1cutting🥺
Please sell me some cuttings!!
Hiii
Hiiii
I feel like you resemble moonchild on this shirt 🤷🏻♀️
This is why I won't buy one, this and the reverting issue..to me it's not worth the hefty price. Beautiful yes but not worth it to me. There's too many other plants with Beautiful variegation.
