Absolutely LOVE this episode!! I have recently been laid off first week of June. BLESSINGGGGGG 😊 I’ve recently started a freeze dried candy company to raise money for my first grand baby (born 2 weeks after I was laid off) she was born with a cleft lip and palate. I wanted to help take some financial burden off my kids so they can both be there for all of her procedures without stressing! So here I am, taking orders, donations, shipping, doing special orders for holiday party’s, thank you gifts, wedding favors, party favors, etc. I am just getting f started and We hope to help thousands of families of cleft babies and others born with birth defects!!
I just got laid off after working for a company for 20 years. The feeling of sadness is real. Mel your podcasts & advise are keeping me sane, thank you! ❤
Unbossing yourself is such a powerful concept! This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to take control of their life and career. Thank you, Mel and Amy, for sharing these invaluable insights!
Oh Mel ❤️ Thank you so much for doing this podcast! I have been struggling so hard with Anxiety, stress and guilt from my job. I worked so hard to get promoted and now I hate my position. You are motivating me to pursue happiness and I can't thank you enough for that!
It's like you know exactly where I am in my life (I'm 44). Been working on starting my own business as an educational psychologist after way too many years in the public school system. I'm so exciting to be my own boss, but playing it slow and safe.
Wow, absolute divine timing! I am literally starting on this path now whilst fully employment. I've qualified as a counsellor and am now a certified coach. 🎉 I'm building this up so I can ditch the 9 - 5 They sky isn't even the limit 🎉
I love you Mel but I really wanted to hear Amy share her story. It was super interesting but I kept getting lost with all of the interruptions. Please give your guests more time to finish their thoughts before interjecting. Sending lots of love ❤
❤❤❤Thank you mel for your blogs...😭i cry listenning this cry for joy that we still have chance even your at 50 yrs old..before i was thingking im too old and life is enough..now im inspired ❤🙏
19:53 somebody else doing this is a validation that there is a business and money and more importantly people want this …in there lives. In a coaching session about choosing my niche I was telling the coach that your content and another individuals content majorly inspire me and that kinda stuff is my thing - I am in my 40s and have faced major identity shifts bc of what life has brought my way. Their words were no choose something different bc those people (you and this other women) are huge and there’s no space for you. I know better. Thanks Mel for always being so inspiring. There’s enough room for all of us!
I can vouch for what a great instructor Amy Porterfield is; I've taken several of her courses which have significantly grown my nature education business as well as my confidence and mindset!
It’s my birthday today. I’m 25, and I’m doubling down on my dream to make my own money and get closer to god. Whoever is reading this, just know that you’re more than enough. the best time to plant a tree was 5 years ago. The next best time is now. God bless🙏🏼🎁
Thank you so much Mel and guests for inspiring us to move forward with courage in trying out new opportunities ventures that we are naturally inclined to do so!!!! Great topic👍💕💜💕
I've been watching u for quite sometime now & u've been a huge motivation for me; a matter of fact I'm in the process of writing 2 different books. I have a question for u; Mel do u have any suggestions for a new writer/author like myself?
Mel, if we are being real like I know you always are. Example, when you got your nails done at a certain nail salon, I met her. She told me because you said you went there publicly, ske was getting crazy business. If I made something or did something....let's say I made a bag, you carried it and mentioned it we all know I'm going to sell a bunch. You need a few well-known people to say they use a product and all of a sudden everyone wants it. These people all have a degree. A pharmacist and an accountant make great money.
Mel, what would you tell someone who is seriously depressed but wants a change, and doesn't have any clue what to do? I'm going on a year of being reclusive after loosing my dad to suicide but had to hit the ground running to figure out what to do about my mom w alzheimer's since she no longer has a caretaker. I've got Like zero ideas. I'm on a second career (catering biz 13 years, then went into real estate, but i hate sales and feel like a fraud!) I'm in therapy, but still lost and a hot mess, and want to run away. I desperately want to find a calling, not just a job or new career.
PS it sounds to me like you have an amazing story. It could help a lot of people hear what you've been through. I spiraled after my grandfather died and then no justice. I had an existential breakdown and it's been 3 yrs. I am stuck in 2019. Doing ecommerce and trying etsy and trying this and that and seeing what sticks. Even reading a lot can make you an expert.
@@GeminiTwinning thank you for saying that and I'm sorry to hear about your experience after your grandfather's passing. Yes I also had serious injustice and had to go through six months of costly attorney bills, then court to get my mother's power of attorney reinstated after my step sisters came after me. I have learned a lot about the Alzheimer's journey, mental health, depression, ptsd, Rockbottom fatigue, insomnia, fibromyalgia, dark night of the soul, etc., etc. lol it is just stupid but goes on and on. Sometimes I fantasize about just being a waitress, but I would not be going from getting a fat check for 30 K to $300 and would live in poverty. I'm working on my poverty /lack mentality actually, but it goes deeper bc i married "the wrong guy" who's an alcoholic in recovery and i basically have to support him and raise our daughter and do everything. there's not a lot of room left over for what "i want". but i'm seeing that also is just an illusion snd an excuse for my fear of failure or inability to dream. Geez, what DID i used to like to do?! Honestly i'm just a happy person to begin with, with a lot of impossible things to deal with that make no sense to me. I can be happy sitting on the side of a road, cracking peanuts, waiting for a bus, but once there is obligation involved i'm immediately reminded of how trapped i feel.
@@goodpony1971if you want to talk reach out to me. I’m a realtor and father of daughters myself. I can’t help your husband it sounds like he may not make a change but I know the world of being fatherless it’s my life’s work. That said I’m happy to offer some guidance on the real estate side of things or busienss as a whole. You are more resilient than you think. You are not a fraud either. Keep going. Let’s connect
I am still self employed today even after being bankrupted by the high court. Today theres a lot more informational stuff available for free. I will gladly pay a successful business owner an hour of their time to ask them how they started in businesses but the criteria will be that you needed to have started in business and been successful in it without debt and that includes being supported by your family, because you still used OPM to create your business. Each to their own. Podcasters need to stop hiding the truth. If you brought your own house well your probably have a mortgage on it. It requires a whole different mindset to bootstrap and run a business on only the income it makes as opposed to using OPM but I can be done. Being in debt creates more restrictions than staying in a bad job. But most people have been brainwashed by society and the banking sectors into believing they are being successful when the reality is they are still trapped. I will die first before I ever get into debt again. And my “market” of who I want to see content from is 57, female and single and debt free and with a low IQ.
Hi Mel I'm curious. When I'm listening to certain episodes they switch half way through into another unrelated episode. Is this something on my end Thank you
Happened to me too. I'm usually listening while I drive, so I thought I hit the wrong button when trying to skip the ads, but then it happened again. Super disappointing, and if I may be blunt - annoying enough for me to stop listening altogether. We get an hour in with an abrupt cut to an entirely different topic, and zero conclusion to EITHER of the topics. Byeeeeee. 👎
This is the first time I'm experiencing this. Totally unrelated topic and it went on for so long. I'm wondering if it's a genuine error. Would love to listen to the rest of Amy Porterfield's contribution as the video is quite interesting and opportune.
I don’t understand her editing. Why does she jump from one person to another? I do t like the sudden jolt. Why not hang out with that woman she was interviewing or, if she feels she must make a transition, then do a private pivot to the listeners, weird.
I so wish that I can listen to your podcast without the cursing. Not everyone is comfortable with the language used especially if kids are around. The information is so valuable from your podcasts but unfortunately I would have to unsubscribe. Such a pity.😢
So the first thing I need to do is create a UA-cam channel that not my friends, family or co-workers can find. I don’t even have my coworkers as contacts on my phone yet when I’m on FB or Instagram their pages pop up so I’m able to find them without knowing their email without being a follower …have to research how to make myself unsearchable by those people around me
Mel please let her talk and tell her story❤ I love your podcasts.

Wrong mindset! You want to be wealthy to be a blessing and live a life of FREEDOM!!!❤
