The fact that they are considering mobility, digital connections and resource management for the future of the city shows that Amsterdam is going to be so in touch with next generation's needs. Transportation is one of the most important parts in urbanization which brings many challenges including emissions and traffic. So facing these problems in advance while considering CE principles would be a huge step for making Amsterdam a better place to live. Another aspect of their program is about resource management which is already an issue to many cities. In order to make a city be a functional and pleasant place, it is important to consider people's needs and welfare.

From this video, I think the most interesting circular activity promoted by Amsterdam is encouraging involvement at the individual perspective. Often these problems seem to require complex solutions, and in this video, individuals with solutions to put higher values on waste streams are encouraged to participate in the market and encourage the economic shift towards a circular model. In bringing together governments, knowledge institutes and business, Amsterdam has facilitated conversation between key stakeholders that may not naturally engage in problem solving and generating new solutions.
I think Amsterdam’s circular strategy is likely to work because of its multi-faceted approach. It encourages key stakeholders, as well as individuals, to come together and create new solutions. It also demonstrates the key benefit - a circular economy enables business to make more profit from the same level of resources.

In my opinion, the most interesting circular activity that Amsterdam is pioneering is focusing on gaining value from resources that already exist in the system and gaining more financial value out of these resources. By creating a comprehensive Circular Economy Program: which aims to reduce the use of new raw materials by 50% by 2030 and to become fully circular by 2050.
Also, Amsterdam implemented another interesting initiative such as:
Repair Cafés, located in different parts of the city to extend the life of products
Amsterdam includes all sectors (government, knowledge and businesses) and all entities in their approach from a linear to a circular economy.
Many factors make Amsterdam’s circular strategy likely to work.
First, the fact that it's a collaborative approach (involving all stakeholders).
They also have KPIs to measure progress.
Moreover, Their approach focuses on encouraging businesses to first generate business value from resources in their system by re-use, re-furbish, and re-recycle, then second, by limiting getting new resources into their systems.

Two important factors for big plans to work is being practical and caring about butterfly effect. I noticed along with big organizations and government, the CE strategies also include small changes which could end in bigger changes like caring about people's life style and mentality. Also encouraging people to share their ideas, improves the chances for these strategies to work. The other important aspect of their plans is the financial part. The lady reminded us that in CE strategies, we can earn more profit from the same old materials and goods. It would be helpful for people to understand that participating in a CE economy, does not diminish their profit.

Great to see there is an independent group (Amsterdam economic board) focusing on future looking activities for the metropolitan area and where circular economy is a central part of the discussion shows the level of commitment to actually put a circular economy into practice. Engaging key players and stakeholders including government, business and research organisations (triple helix of innovation) ensures solutions are sound and innovative. recognising the value in this transition and the impact it will make to citizens is the best foundation to connect everyone around the importance of shifting to a circular economy.

I think some of the most interesting circular activities that Amsterdam is pioneering include their efforts in circular economy initiatives, waste reduction, and recycling programs, sustainable urban planning, and promoting a sharing economy through initiatives like bike-sharing programs. Also, I think is a good strategy to reduce consumption and the 'power of the people' to reach this target.

The lady in the video confirmed that CE programs and strategies involve different stakeholders and are open to new ideas from all parties. Government, Knowledge institutes and corporates are all involved and welcomed to participate and share ideas. Making them responsible would help CE projects to develop faster and more optimal.

    1) I think the most difficult part is really the way they bring together all of the stakeholders and create and environment to think about ways to put Circular Economy into practice, by circling the resources before recycling and finally throwing them away.
    2) They bring together the goverments, knowledge institutes and the corporates to discuss about the products to talk about the future of Amsterdam´s metropolitan area.
    3) It is likely to work because this is an inclusive social strategy which will have a positive impact in Amsterdam´s society.

    1)
They are tackling mobility issues and this will ensure that the city's transport system is affordable and effective, reduce congestion and pollution.
They have initiatives aiming to keep resources and materials in the economic process for as long as possible.
They aim to avoid usage where necessary, reuse, remanufacture, repurpose and recycle.
First they have an independent economic board that is tasked with promoting CE.
This board encourages and helps Government, Knowledge institutes and corporates to work together towards a circular city'
Individuals are encouraged to reconsider a need and to kee products in use for as long as possible
Entrepreneurs are encouraged to start circular businesses and municipalities later handle waste in a sustainable way.
    3)
There is a high level of collaboration amongst stockholders
The availability of an independent board that is tasked with promoting a circular city.
Circular programs are set up jointly and they are road maps
Their circular activities are covered by the media and broadcast e.g on youtube thereby raising awareness

What group, persons, body of experts defines the ‘ecological ceiling’? This is the effective cap on growth, the control of a persons individual economic contribution!

integration and inclusion of the major stakeholders: government, knowledge institutes and corporate businesses in the transition from a linear to circular economy is essential together with acknowledgement of "Power of the People!".

Very important are the activities of the Amsterdam Economic Board to achieve its goal that by 2040 this city will be a place where people like to live and work, for this they will work on their urban challenges such as urban mobility, digital collectivity and with the resources that are in the system.
Making synergies between local governments, knowledge institutions, and the business sector to promote jointly all the programs in Amsterdam for its transition from a linear economy to a circular economy, and a clear message about being smart with resources as the philosophy of circular economy does is an important factor to drive its transition. The clear message is that if one does not need a resource, do not use it and if one already has a resource keep it through reuse, repair, recycling.
This unity of parts in the circular strategy and clear messages to the people and institutions drive to create a culture that will engage all society towards circularity that will make their circular strategy work.
