Well of course A Lange & Sohne are German!!!! Apologies for the mistake all!!!!! Please still let me in watches & Wonders !!!!
The slip of the tongue didn’t ruin my life 😂
Thaz iz nein acceptable , little anglizh man...mine little Führer...
I'm sick of hearing this single brain cell logic......"without this......../we wouldn't have had this......."
Making things is not built on a house of cards, just because one watch was/wasn't a success DOES NOT mean all the other lineage from said watch would not have happened.
It's the same as saying, if your mother didn't sleep with an un-anthropomorphicsized Thomas the Tank Engine look-a-like you would not have existed.
Of course you would existed, you simply would not have been so pug ugly.
I bet the Misses shuts her eyes when you come.
Really good video though 👍🫡🫡

The art IFL is making with highly trained squirrels is really impressive.
It would have been nice to have acknowledged the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, a model that has been in continuous production for nearly 100 years!
Number 15!
I have it and love it!
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso deserves to be in the top ten - iconic, beautiful and versatile. Created in 1931 it was a pioneer and still really unique. I'll never be able to afford one but (sigh) what a watch!
Love the video MWC. Great to see Breitling getting some love, and as an aside, i’m into my first week owning a Sinn 104, and thoroughly enjoying it. Lovely.
A. Lange Swiss?
Oops
Nein! 😂
Yeah ooops!!!!
Lange und Sohne is made in Burundi.... 😊
What an idiot....
My top favorite 5 watches: the Omega Speedy, G-Shock square, Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical, Seiko SKX009, Tissot PRX Quartz.
You can argue the watches and the order, but bravo on the presentation. You are a gem in the YT watch world. All the best from Calgary, Alberta.
Thanks for sharing MWC, love all your picks and especially The Speedy! My grail watch one day!
Enjoyed the quick history lesson. Thank you Sir!
really enjoyed your top 10 some nice changes in there which reflects your style in watches
Great review. I truly appreciate the education
Great review! Thanks Russ!
Totally agree mate - great list.
Great selection, Russell. Much better than Paw Patrol one 😉
"Once you see the meat and two veg at 12 : 00 you feel a bit differently." 😅😅😅
So true, What they where thinking in Omega when they designed the great Speedmaster?
BTW, Kudos for the Casio G-shock Square (DW5600 & variants) on the number 2 spot.
Very nice countdown Russell &
I agree with you: Apple watch is NOT a watch.
A little surprised the original trench watch didn't make your list. Seeing that it was adapted to wear on the wrist versus the pocket while timing attacks from the trenches in WWI. That adaptation opened the door for all other wristwatches. Great list Russell!
Bonkers .....one of the best watch review channels you'll find
Very kind my friend!
I have to say, I really like your show but there were two major blunders in this one: 1. The GS Snowflake (owner here) is very accurate indeed but not 10 seconds a year. That would be the 9F Quartz. The Snowflake 9R is accurate to 15 sec a month (but it's better than that) and 2. A. Lange & Söhne shows the craftsmanship of Swiss watchmaking? The Swiss would wish they could come close to the craftsmanship of that sublime German brand (I'm living near to Glashütte, where they are built).
Otherwise, great show, as always. ;)
Edit: Just seen the amendment in the pinned comment. Phew... Credibility restored :D
Love what IFL have been doing!
thanks, glad you like it 🖌🎨⌚
Great vid. Interesting list for sure (both theirs and yours, though yours is way better) and for the record, funnily enough my smart watch was what got me into watches, and I still love mine too this day
I love that! I’m gonna start calling my iPhone my pocket watch. Thanks Russ
Love your top ten, respect your opinion, what did wife think of Gear Patrol’s list? Thanks, a learned a lot.
Another good one, cheers.
Excellent choices.
You just nailed it! Top 10 top list!!! :)
Great personal list Russell, l hope one day you get a Speedmaster and be able to enjoy its amazing charm and historic importance
For me a simple model of seiko quartz in the quartz crisis era should be no. 1. And the SKX should also be there
Brilliant MWC!
Here are my top 10
10. Seiko Turtle/6105
9. Squale 1521
8. Citizen promaster ny0040/eco-drive
7. Hamilton khakhi field mechanical 38mm
6. Rolex datejust
5. Omega Seamaster 300m
4. Grand Seiko Snowflake
3. Omega speedmaster
2. Rolex Submariner
1. Seiko SKX
I’d switch the sub and Speedmaster but other than that I agree with your list🙏
#1 Rolex Daytona #2 Rolex Sub #3 Omega Speedmaster #4 Blanc Pain Fifty Fathoms #5 AP Royal Oak #6 Patek Grand Complication #7 Rolex Explorer #8 Square G Shock, #9 Seiko Turtle #10 Rolex Day Date
I know this list is heavy on Rolex, but the watch industry without Rolex wouldn't be half of what it is today, and they are by far the most iconic brand, with the most iconic models
Probably you have to include the Jaeger-LeCoutre Reverso to the list, a design so iconic, maybe even more than the tank!
Then a calculator watch, like the Casio Data bank instead the first resin. We are not talking about news, we are talking about iconic -and copied- designs! Resin is not iconic, it's just a way to cut down the prices.
Oh, and you have to include Swatch, the iconic design of them it's recognizable everywhere.
Thanks for the list Russ!
A fabtastic video sir,
I’m not going to mention any mistakes or stuff like that because doing these things is bloody hard and shit happens.
So here is a positive comment to readdress the balance.
Loving your work.
Awesome vid Russ ❤ Ide add the Rolex Oyster Perpetual which is still, annoyingly my ultimate grail watch. Nothing seems to be able to shift it from my top spot. One day...😊
Hey Mr Mad, what about a video comparing servicing costs or case finishing on all those 10 watches.
Great vid, I love the little nuggets of historical info. 😊...
No F-91W!!! 😮
Spring Drive is good to +/-10-15 sec / mo, not per year! per year you'd need a 9F movement. great vid!!
My F9 Quartz I was thinking about!!! Still unrivalled by most watch brands out there!
SD seem to run about .5 sec a day fast. About plus 15 a mo. And that special sweep❤
Great choice
I love your selection but… Where is the SKX?
Got to be a Casio in there , my faves .
Love my 1861 Speedy as my main watch. And the G shock 5600 as a bonus messy watch...
I think an Explorer 36mm would be a great choice.. and IWC Mark 15 or 16
that citizen watch is looking good. similar style to the prx.
The only glaring watch missing from the list is the SEIKO 62mas....(mic drop!)
I love that watch possibly even the most but they broke the mould literally with the 6105
Rolex 1016 and Daytona, Tudor BB58 and Aqua Terra
Great choices! I definitely prefer your list.
In defence of the Moon Watch's 50m rating - that's an Omega 50m, which is very different to other brands.
Omega very explicitly says on its website that even a 30m rating from them means that you can wear the watch at 30m depth for extended periods of time with vigorous arm movements without limitation.
Gotta love that confidence in their product. I've swam with my Moonwatch many times with zero issues.
Prefer your list, but what about Cartier Santos, Longine Weems, Hanhart 417, Omega Marine, jlc Reverso, Rolex GMT. Cheers love your content
my top ten watches ever made
1 rolex gmt master 2
2 rolex sub
3 omega speed master
4 rolex daytona
5 ap royaloak
6 casio f 100
7grand seiko snow flake
8 universal geneve polerouter
9 rolex dayjust'
10 casio g shock
Are you going to do a review of Aragon watch's there similar to Invicta but higher quantity great prices.
Brilliant choices, though I'd replace the Casio F-100 with the CA-53 calculator watch 😎 Cheers!
Happy with the top 10’s as I have a Submariner (which I bought in 1994) and a Speedy.
Since I'm old, I have original 1969 moon landing watch Omega Speedmaster
Good morning from Vancouver Canada
YES RUSTY PRONOUNCE TSUYOSA CORRECTLY or at least better than some people did
I have two spring drive watches , a Seiko LX and a Grand Seiko diver's watch . Plus a modern Prospex Captain Willard . Not bad
I'd have had to have shoehorned a Zenith El-Primero in the list somewhere, but I'd also have the moonwatch at No1 personally.
Bought a GBD200 gshock a few months ago havent worn anything else since :D
I like your list better. Simply because I have both your top two in my collection. But then, I also have the Casio F91-W.
Great review. Smart watches have a limited time before they are no use as software developes. A true watch, mechanical will go on for decades and can be passed on when your gone...
What about the 900W panasonic micro watch in the kitchen.?
You're more than welcome fella ❤
One missing from the list is the PP Calatrava from 1928. Yes, pricey, but pretty much all modern dress watches derive from that. There is the standard fieldwatch look, which has no representative on the list, but probably also no true original it would be based on - I take Citizen's eco-derive fieldwatch as a rep of the class, as that also covers the solar watch thing, and Citizen nailed that. Another influential military spec one is the type-b flieger from WW2; not just often copied, but a really well-thought-through design when the minutes of the hour are your main concern; originally made by several companies, I'd go for Laco or Stowa. On the technology side, I'd put in the Junghans Mega, the first radio-controlled watch.
Honorable mention- the Mad Hacker Field Watch 😁
Great list. I’d be tempted to throw a BB58 in there, too…
It’s my favourite diver matey but a homage to several others back in the day
The picture of the lange that you showed is of the Lange 1 and not the datograph. It's selling the datograph a little short, however I think the Lange 1 is also very lovely. The datograph is a perpetual calendar with a chronograph function. Which is pretty rare, and very impressive. Also they are German watchmakers.
Thank you my friend! Slip of tongue
It's also German Watchmaking and not swiss watchmaking
@@ilanser think that’s been said already my friend! Little slip of the Swiss tongue ay!
Blancpain 50F yes but much higher up
Fred Flinstones sun dial wrist watch is the OG 😂🤣😂🤣
The A. Lange & Sohne shows the craftsmanship of Swiss watchmaking? While being made in Glashutte, Germany?
Nine of the top ten are Rolexes and the other is a G Shock DW5600.
I definitely agree with your list much more than that of Gear Patrol, however in the end it is all subjective. I don't think this is a hot take, however the Rolex GMT would have to be on my top 10 somewhere.
Love the list but the Square is numero uno - it’s been to space and both spawned and saved the G-Shock line. I’m keeping the Cartier Tank and the Patek Perpetual Perfection in the top ten. Also, the Casioak has to be somewhere on the list. I didn’t even like the Royal Oak until I saw the Casioak.
The Apple Watch: why have a pocket watch, when you can have a wrist phone?
But in all seriousness: no F-91W in the list?
Hehe another hilarious video, very contentious list for some - but I mostly agree... I think without all the Watch hobby BS - a person probably doesn't need another watch other than a Casio/G-Shock... But definitely Grand Seiko HAS to be there, sure doesn't have brand cache of Rolex or AP but from technology and art perspective its one of the greatest watches ever made!
Your 10 is easier to agree with. I wish omega seamaster was on the list. To me, an early omega watch would have pioneered the concept of the oyster watch. And starting the commercial ability of water resistance as a marketable feature.
I may be biased but the seiko alpinist has to be one of them
Based on internal influence I would say the Seiko Astron, the first quartz watch, has been the most influential. Based on external appearance, I would say the Patek Philippe Calatrava has.
If I know the interwebz, I'm sure you'll get 100% agreement on your choices
Doesn’t seem so ! But hey!!! It’s all about opinions PH!
Dont you like the sbbn tunas MCW?
Wake up babe MWC posted
Citizen promaster aqualand should be in there.
I love my Speedy pro, but to be honest, I would put it #2 and the Subbie at #1 just based on recognition factor. I think your list is more tthe real person's top 10.list, and the other one was by someone trying to show off.
GShock square is - without question number 1, for its shere influence....
MadHacker has to at least be #10!! 😁
Your list was much better. I'm especially biased because my collection is your top 4 sans the Submariner.
Not having the Rolex GMT seems like a miss, as well as the oyster perpetual
Good choice on the Speedy at number 1.
"Some of them were a little bit iffy"
Its gear patrol Russ.....its not surprising
You showed us the Lange 1 and not the Datograph when talking about A Lange Sohne. I feel you went for more old school watches and not contemporary ones aside from the Grand Seiko.
Good spot my friend!
I just went for the watches that had an impact on the watch market! Missed out the Astron !!
I've always wondered what Omega was thinking putting the "meat and two veg" on the dial! And leaving it there! Good for a laugh, and I love the watch, so win-win. I think your list is pretty spot on Russell. Well done mate!
It's so if you pick it up in the dark, you know which way up.
Wouldn't the crown give that away?@@rooflessdriver68
@@dadmodswatchesyou have to touch it to guess where the crown is in the dark... And the peepee is iconic, you know where your sausage is, you know where it has to be on the dial!
@brunocraighero2460 Nobody can argue with that. There is an intuitive understanding of the orientation of this type of pointer.
I like your list better. I’d swap the submariner and the speed master perhaps.
I think the snowflake will move up the rankings in the years to come - the movement, the dial and the use of titanium were all pioneering in their own way for a mid-tier luxury watch. The latter two are becoming more and more widely adopted by other makers.
Most of us can’t afford most of the the watches on the list but the thing is would i buy one if i won the lottery probably not because I love my cheap Casio value for money watches besides I no longer do the lottery when the price went up
"In 1983, a new watch came out that was designed by the tough team of Casio" , Rest is history.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHSSSS! 🎉
Citizen promaster NY0040 the last mechanical frogman’s watch
"We wouldn't have any man!"
We might be getting there shortly.
Apple watch is more like electronic bracelet with showing time function... but it's not a watch :D
Mad watch collector😍🇮🇳
07:32 lol
WILLY BREITLING! 😂
at about the 5 minute mark - A. Lange does not show the craftsmanship of Swiss watchmaking, but rather of the German
