I played the HD version on an emulator for free, it was a lot of fun, it scratched my nostalgia itch, and I really gotta say it feels like it could be a definitive version of Dark Moon. But I would feel ripped off if I actually payed 70 bucks for it.
I also played this on the 3ds, but I was so attached to the game I played it 24/7. The little cratrage stopped working and I was so close to beating the game bur now that it's out on the nitendo I'm saving up to bye and play my childhood game
I noticed this part where the camera shakes a little bit! Nintendo probably rushed this part and called it a day or they forgot how to move the camera better because the original never did that. They need to fix it. 15:00

After the original Luigi's Mansion game, the local tax board got enough of his loot so Professor Gadd arranged for him to have the "D-rank Mansion" as his own place free and clear. However, all that wealth led to a financial crisis that plunged the value of a gold coin from 5000 G to one NeoG (the "G" that is the money unit from Luigi's Mansion 2 then on). The first upgrades to the Poltergust and Dark-Light were 2000 NeoG, the the last two are 3000 NeoG each. Finally, a Super Poltergust is 10000 NeoG. Anything after paying for those upgrades is going towards Gadd's services in managing the money and "sequel stuff" (the Poltergeist G-00). He also has 5 complete gem collections if he did 100%, so those get donated to Gadd to avoid tax issues, or does Gadd use the cash to help Luigi avoid those issues too, you wonder? (And they look great in his place.) Luigi's Mansion 3 had even more loot, and 70,000 NeoG (350 million G) is enough to make "Last Resort 2.0" like a luxury property (Gadd's services to get equipment, building materials, room and board for the non-ghost folks, and restocking the hotel and stores for business). Again, either Gadd manages the property to make it "friendly to ghosts and normals alike" or at least "a ghost haven so nobody worries about a ghost wandering around and making trouble." Not sure if Luigi gets a stake in the hotel as a result, or the cash from LM3 is a "donation to the betterment of society in uniting normals and ghosts alike." Gold Bones are "extra lives" but Luigi can only have one in a round in LM2. If he still has it at the end of the round, it gets cashed in for 200 NeoG (like a HUGE Bone-shaped Gold Ingot). LM3 lets Gadd give one to Luigi to start, but can sell more with Luigi's stock 4 bones at max (by reusing what he saved then cashed in from LM2). Mario even convinced Luigi to save Peach before going back to Gadd (though if Luigi was low on gold bones, he was out of luck as he didn't have extra lives to waste at that point of LM3)

I had a good experience with the first Luigi's Mansion on Gamecube and had to look up very few things to complete the game, even before UA-cam was a thing... I appreciate his playthrough and Scarescraper is fun :')

there aren't platinum ranks i dont think and yes you need gold medals for every level including catching every boo and finding every scarescrape rare ghost (i think)
