Takeshi was not his rival. Takeshi's true purpose was to train Kouya to be the Greatest Crush gear fighter in the world. those Flashback was due to his ANGER. Destroying their Crush gear. like the time when kouya felt ecstacy after spamming shining sword breaker destroying his opponent.
