It’s ridiculous! Most Vancouver living in those places are either some third world political kids or drug dealers No normal Canadian afford to live like that nor wants that. Vancouver have become a shithole after drug epidemic after the Olympics.
Amen to this, bro. Though we were always poor before, my husband's small business is doing well, and we were just able to buy a very modest house in East Vancouver. (The sellers sold to us, though our bid was not the highest, because we said we're old school East Van, and won't tear down the house.) We know that we're extremely lucky. Most people can't even afford rent. Vancouver was not always like this. I weep for what is happening to our city. I literally have bad dreams about it.
I visited a friend who was staying there for a bit. There was only one elevator working in the building, and I ended up waiting for 30 mins for one to come that wasnt too full. I should have just taken the stairs lol
PLUS the MIT - Maintenance, Insurance & (Property) Tax of maybe $7500/mo. $22K/mo RENT cost certainly is a genuine figure. "A fool and his money are soon separated."
The Vancouver house is literally falling apart. I would urge anyone thinking about it to not buy there. I work in the trades out here and know people that worked on it. Cracking foundation, plumbing leaks, electrical issues. It was a very difficult building to engineer and it shows. Junk.
Lol Van is more expensive than you think. I've done design work in that building and many of the other newer builds DT. Assuming a mortgage, his 22k a month is anywhere from a 4 to 6 million dollar property. The new CURV building downtown is boasting some of the most expensive condo real estate in Canada. There are PH level units in the 10-15 million range there.
Looks at his measly annual salary of $55000 and wonders how the fu** is he still living within his means and saving money every month. damn, some people have way too much
I had no idea we had this kind of wealth in Vancouver. I've lived in New York, and I saw and loathed this kind of wealth there, but here? Man, I'll take my little East Van life over this any day. This is obscene.
I'd say you need to go ride around British Properties neighborhood but you'd prolly get super pissed off. There are $10-15mill mansions up there that are vacant or vacant most of the year. There are houses on pillow and shit for like $60-70k per MONTH to rent. I just got a house in North Van because my apartment rent just bumped over $4k a month.
If you live in Vancouver and you haven't seen the Lambos and Rolls and Bentleys rolling around.....it's everyday. I see like 15 G Wagons everyday on the way to work.
@@patrigdon4205 I thought you meant up by UBC. I looked it up. You mean in North Van. I had no idea that was going on! I'm really happy to nestle down in East Van, though I get pissed off to see all the yuppies moving here. You're giving me perspective. Compared to other areas, it's still relatively modest here. But all the genuinely poor people are having to leave altogether and I hate that. I miss the Drive as it once was and is no longer.
@CharlotteIssyvoo I don't know how you don't know that this is one of the richest cities in North America but I guess that can be considered a blessing. At least you apparently don't see how much this shithole misappropriates your tax dollars. It's fucking disgusting what this place does. Drug policy....housing....all of it.

It's not the Ocean. It's the George Strait. Go to Tofino or Ucluelet or Banfield to see the Ocean. The Pacific Ocean. I grew up on Vancouver Island in Port Alberni at the end of the Alberni Inlet which is Salt water too and we don't call it Ocean.

Totally agree and looks like the suite did have a flood already . Lol , they could of taken the big blue X on the floor prior to filming

Problem building though ..
22k doesn’t make sense, this apartment is at least 5 million and the mortgage on that is around 40k with current interest
And $2500/m mntce fee & $27K/yr property tax
PLUS the MIT - Maintenance, Insurance & (Property) Tax of maybe $7500/mo.
