- When Jesus Christ began his ministry on earth He healed the sick, He delivered the demonically oppressed, He fed the hungry, He raised the dead, and more. He also gave the authority to the 12 apostles, and then to 70 others to do the works that He did. He said that we would do works greater than He did because He was going His way toward His Father, Yahweh.
Many years before Jesus Christ came to earth, there lived a prophet by the name of Elijah, and then, Elisha, both of whom also performed powerful works such as Elijah commanding the weather and later raising a child from the dead. Elisha also raised a child from the dead.
After King Jesus returned to heaven we are told of experiences wherein the Apostle Paul raised a young man from the dead after he fell out the window.
In the video, I stated that this experience of the dead person coming to life after touching the dead bones of the servant of God Almighty was a New Testament account found in the book of Acts. In correction of that statement, the account is found in the Old Testament, in 2 Kings 13 where we are told the story of a young man whose body was thrown into the grave where Elisha's bones were. Upon touching the bones, this young man came back to life. He was thrown into the grave because the people carrying his body to be buried saw a band of tomb raiders, so they threw the body into the tomb and then got out of there. But as I mentioned the body touched the bones of Elisha and the young man came back to life. That is potent.
Let me share this because I found it to be interesting...
Old Testament Resurrections:
Resurrection of the widow’s son in Zarephath (1 Kings 17:17-22)
Resurrection of the Shunammite’s son (2 Kings 4:18-37)
Resurrection of the man thrown into Elisha’s grave (2 Kings 13:20)
Resurrections by King Jesus:
Resurrection of Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:41)
Resurrection of the young man at Nain (Luke 7:14)
Resurrection of Lazarus (John 11:38-44)
Resurrections occurred at the time of Jesus death:
Resurrection of unknown saints during the crucifixion (Matt 27:52-53)
Father Yahweh raised King Jesus back to life:
Resurrection of Christ (Matt 28:1-6)
New Testament Resurrections:
Resurrection of Tabitha/Dorcas (Acts 9:36-42)
Resurrection of Eutychus (Acts 20:7-12)
Promised Resurrections:
Resurrection of the Church (i.e., Rapture, 1 Thess 4:13-18; 1 Cor 15:23)
Resurrection of the Two Witnesses (Rev 11:7-11)
Resurrection of OT Saints and Martyrs (Revelation 20:4)
Resurrection of the Wicked (Revelation 20:5)
These things should be happening today also. Jesus gave us the authority to do so IN HIS NAME. But the problem of why it is not happening is twofold.
1. Like with the 9 powerless disciples, the issue is one of a lack of faith. Oh, Ye of Little Faith is what King Jesus said regarding the situation when it happened and the 9 could not heal the boy with epilepsy.
2. Pride is the second issue because these occurrences are supposed to give praise to the Only True God Yahweh from whom comes this power to resurrect. But many today are going about ministries in their own names.
We are definitely operating under the potential that King Jesus said that we had as His representatives and in His name.
