For me the MacMillan version will always be supreme, but Cranko’s choreography is surprisingly sweet and tender. And Friedemann and Polina are gorgeous as always
This is more traditional than either MacMillan or Ratmansky but has some lovely details. I really love the way Romeo fetches Juliette off of the stairs and sweetly places her back. Cranko offers another viewpoint which I think I will watch again and again.
This is so beautiful that time dropped for me and I stayed these full 8 minutes hypnotized by them... I love Friedemann Vogel to the moon, and it's such a pity I only got to see him live in ballet once (Kameliendame)... I also love what John Cranko has created, I mean the neoclassical ballets... I think this way of expressing in ballet comes mostly from him amd Macmillan, and I'm so proud to be in his school 🥰
Thank you - I also love Friedemann Vogel so much in every role he performs. Even as a young dancer, when I first saw him in live performances, he stood out as an astonishing dancer! All eyes were on him when he was on the stage. Congrats on being in the Stuttgart Ballet School! 🌟

well, that's a matter of taste I guess....
this is the best Semionova performance I've seen, I think she is very good at this kind of a role that requires a lot of whole-body body language dancing instead of dances that focus primarily on the steps or the legs, because she is a free form kind of dancer, I think that's her main talent

@tfg200808 The choreographer of this version is John Cranko. John Cranko was originally from South Africa, but went to Stuttgart where he created ballets, notably Romeo and Juliet and Eugene Onegin. This is a beautiful and wonderful R+J! Semionova is one of my favorite ballerinas and Vogel is perfect as always and they dance so well together! Thank you so much! I'm not sure but aren't they dating?

@GymnasticDancer i'm not sure, I think I might have read it in a review of one of them, but I could be wrong. Dating or not they are both wonderful dancers and dance beautifully together!

@9415908 Polina is dating Christian Krehl. He's in the same company as she is (Staatsballett Berlin - corps de ballet) :)
she's married now hahahaha to someone that isn't friedemann but i don't think they ever dated.
I like this much better than the MacMillan choreography.
