This piece pulls you from sorrow, sadness, grief, deep emotions that portray desolation in one's most trying times. It helped me heal from a beloved's loss. I would like to hear this song as my final welfare before I go to heaven. Peace to all of you who were touched by this scintillating piece of music.

When the heart opens, love arises, melting all obstacles; then arises a profound stillness and a connection with the very source of our being which is sacred. Thank you, Stefan Hauser, for this experience.

I cannot get enough of this magnificent interpretation of a timeless and magical piece. It moves me to tears each and every time......my being is transported to a plane where only beauty and majesty exist. This brought all of us together, without words, speechless, we all feel the love, feeling, and emotions througth this notes. A world as it should be, all emotional, all United throught the time and distance. A hug to all of you outhere!
I whole-heartedly agree! However, if you close your eyes and enjoy the music, you never even see them. I've finally got to listen to this, as it's name implies, for strings, and it takes on such a different feeling versus being sang. @Mad Doc - you're so right...I realize that I should have learned to play SOMETHING in the string family.. @HAUSER - BRAVA!!!!
Hauser will one day be enshrined in heaven for this deeply felt, unbearably moving and majestic rendering of this noble music. Truly balm for the soul in these trying times.
Hauntingly beautiful, Hauser is at one with his instrument and the best cellist I've ever heard and I'm 60 now. This is better than the orchestral version, a performance for the history books. It's become clear to me that Western culture will survive in the east. Thank you, never stop playing.
Agree. It's dead in the West, thriving in E. Europe and E. Asia. Witness S. Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Even the "Communist Bloc" countries of Asia are bringing more to Western Classical music than W. Europe and the Americas. Shame on us.
This version with the cello leading is beautiful... I had Adagio for strings playing at my husband's funeral, almost 3 months ago... As he was being buried... He loved this song, it is our families' favorite strings piece... So incredibly moving... It is so very hard to hear it now, after he is gone, and it transports me back to that time and place.
So sorry for your loss. I lost my precious mom recently, and this reminds me so much of her beautiful soul and gentle spirit, so I can relate to your pain.
I listened to this song many, many years ago, when I was a child, in the story on vinyl of the Happy Prince, when he gave his gold leaves to the poor in the city... then life took me to places and moments where, as a soldier I wouldn't have wanted to live or be... I had this song on my walkman, then I listened to it in my mind while fix-aid my wounded core mates... today I live with the memory that my life wasthe right one...I have two children and four grandchildren...I think I've done enough...I'm tired...I want to sleep and dream that it's quiet...like in this piece...for the memory of those who are no more...
Inger Droob yes, and incredible musician....and not to mention very handsome and a lot sexy! Grateful for his talent Nd gift his shares with the world !
Wow, perhaps one of the most beautiful renditions I have ever heard of this epic piece of music. You can see on his face, his sheer passion for the beauty of the music.
This piece is helping me grieve the recent deaths of my mother and aunt. I feel everything when I listen to it. Tension, pain, disbelief, anger, loss, lost, sometimes confused but also loved. After this piece climaxes, I sense resolve. I'm not 100% there yet, but I am doing better.
Lovely that it helps you. The piece, in my opinion, epitomizes everything that you can't say, and everything that cannot be said to you. My sincere condolences for your loss.
@JUDYACST That's it. I really can't verbalize how I'm feeling to anyone. This song does it for me. Today, with a tutorial, I'm learning it on piano. Oh my goodness! It's just so beautiful. Thank you for your condolences.
Guys, I’m telling you, after you watch all the ads and finish the video, listen to the whole thing again in its entirety without interruptions. This has to be one of the best recordings I’ve ever listened to of any piece on UA-cam. Bravo.

Hauser: I don't understand how you can play such a variety of different pieces so flawlessly. I guess that is what professional musicians have to do, but you are in another class entirely. It's beyond passion; you are one with the cello and I can feel your heart beating in every performance. Thank you!

With such passion, love, and absolute conviction, Hauser does not play an instrument known to us as the cello... they ARE the instrument. When someone bares their soul like this, not a word needs to be spoken. No way to know what was on their mind in this performance, yet... there are glimpses in breathing, in softened glances to the side, how the cello is held. The wood itself tells a story, edges rough instead of net-new from the workbench. Life itself has left its mark. Simply incredible, and unbelievable. Not a word more can be written; it would be ineffective to do so.

@@graemeferguson3243 But that doesn't make it a song. I find it really annoying that people call everything a "song". Opera arias, symphonic works, chamber music, doesn't matter, as soon as they hear two notes put together it's a song! I don't expect all people to know all terms in classical music, but couldn't they just say "I like this music"?

He plays like a man making love to a beautiful instrument. Not just playing notes or making music. But feeling passion and embracing the experience.
Beth Cooley Well, he has said playing cello and making love is the same thing to him, no difference.
He says his cello and him have had the longest relationship
This brought all of us together, without words, speechless, we all feel the love, feeling, and emotions througth this notes. A world as it should be, all emotional, all United throught the time and distance. A hug to all of you outhere!
Absolute beauty. But it should be a crime to interrupt this piece of music with ads.

Beautifully put 57 monk!!!
57monk
I have never seen such a musician who moves out the notes and melodies from the instrument simply unbelievable

Hi Fredrik ! Listen to Gauthier CAPUçON, another very brillant cellist of our time. He is French.

Every time I hear this piece i get emotional this is so good
This version with the cello leading is beautiful...
So sorry for your loss. This piece is so raw and I always cry just from that emotion. 🙏🏼
@@jjlady552 thank you, yes incredibly moving piece
So sorry for your loss. It is a haunting piece of music.

This has to be the best looking group of musicians ever
As in, attractiveness?
Don't think that they're Americans because they are thin! (No blondes!)
Italians ?
LOL is this a commercial for a new fragrance? Or a concerto? Either way I'm all in.

I listened to this song many, many years ago, when I was a child, in the story on vinyl of the Happy Prince, when he gave his gold leaves to the poor in the city... then life took me to places and moments where, as a soldier I wouldn't have wanted to live or be... I had this song on my walkman, then I listened to it in my mind while fix-aid my wounded core mates... today I live with the memory that my life wasthe right one...I have two children and four grandchildren...I think I've done enough...I'm tired...I want to sleep and dream that it's quiet...like in this piece...for the memory of those who are no more...
much love to you Xxx
I hope you have many more years with your family especially your grandchildren .
May you always find the peace you seek ...
Respect to those who saved other lives and souls with their lives.
Hauser is the most talented cellist I have ever heard. When he plays its poetic, romantic, emotional and brokenhearted. All written in his face. 👏🙏⭐
Inger Droob yes, and incredible musician....and not to mention very handsome and a lot sexy! Grateful for his talent Nd gift his shares with the world !
True... He makes the Western music very endearing even to Eastern ppl like me.
It's his passion he's feeling it to his core

it is actually Yo-Yo Ma.
I hope that you will soon feel peaceful and be without anxiety and sadness.
@mattdevaux7202 Thank you. It's getting better.
Guys, I’m telling you, after you watch all the ads and finish the video, listen to the whole thing again in its entirety without interruptions. This has to be one of the best recordings I’ve ever listened to of any piece on UA-cam. Bravo.
Despite Hauser being absolutely AMAZING, can we just take a moment to PRAISE the cinematography? FLAWLESS camera work. Hats off to the director and his team! Gave me CHILLS.
Without Hauser no party 🎊!!!

@@tomthomasmusic It takes real skill to keep it simple.
incredible ... we are in awe of him here in new zealand.
Not only that they play excellent, but its like the most attractive orchestra ever.

I do hope Hauser didn't select them for their look only...in the recording it's actually the London Orchestra.
So I am not the only one to notice all the beautiful women.
Noted that as well, looks a bit "staged" to me. In my opinion he also overacts in terms of facial expression.
Aside from that, amazing music.

Hauser: I don't understand how you can play such a variety of different pieces so flawlessly. I guess that is what professional musicians have to do, but you are in another class entirely. It's beyond passion; you are one with the cello and I can feel your heart beating in every performance. Thank you!

Mejor explicado imposible ❤
1. TALENT (FROM GOD, BORN TO BE and PAST LIFE(I WOULD SAY WHENEVER I SEE A GENIOUS))
2. EFFORT ([ENDLESS DEVOTION)
3. PRACTICE TIME (ENDLESS...)
IF ABOVE ALL THOSE CAN BE POSSIBL, YOU CAN DO IT TOO...BUT I DO NOT THINK SO.
OH, I ADMIRE HIS MOTHER :)
WITHOUT HER, WE CAN NOT MEET HIM.
What an audible breath while playing. Hauser always gets deep into the music he plays. Bravo 👏
The comment I was looking for! I thought I was the only one that heard it!
Yes very true words my friend with nothing left out and magical passion Hauser is the best
Perfection- by composer, by musicians. Exquisite.

I just found this cellist tonight, and the tears are streaming down my face. Being home bound because of this terrible pandemic, i need something this beautiful and soothing and majestic to help me remain calm. Beautiful!
He is also famous for being in the group: 2Cellos if I am not mistaken. They have a UA-cam channel. Just look up on youtube: 2Cellos. This...this is perfection. What inspires a human being to make such music as this?
The only song I know that can sympathize with human suffering throughout history, like what we are all enduring now. Bless you all.
It's not a song.
Have a listen to symphony of sorrowful songs
Feisenbach but oh how it sings!
