I am so happy the director never added any sounds or music on scenes that progressed throughout the film e.g their first kiss, the station scene. He knew we would understand by feeling our own heartbeat, which beats any music score forcing us to feel something. This movie is socially and emphatically important.
I’ve watched the movie several times and it was always as good as the first time. But i can tell you reading the novel and the sequel after watching the movie is something else. The novel is so well written that it makes you feel like you get in the inside of Elio and live his experience while you’re laying at home. The sequel is called ‘Find me’ and it’s also so good cause it tells you about the real ending and not the ending of the movie. I totally recommend reading both.
The best thing that happened to Elio are his parents.. so caring and understanding the feelings of their growing son and he has such parents in the 1980s itself..how lucky.. Amazing film.

I think this scene shows Elio digesting what his dad told him to not block out the hurt but to allow it so the love can also shine through and not be lost to darkness. You can see the conflicting emotions. That scene with his dad's talk was so heart warming. What a great dad ❤

Most of these relationships end with how one person loves another unconditionally while the other person pities the way the other person loves him and ultimately ending it.
Reading all these comments makes me want to cry. So many different emotions were invoked in me. If I really experienced everything he experienced I may have died. This movie made me fall in love with Timothee chalamet. His acting is beyond words in this movie. Rarely do you get the privilege of witnessing someone’s true raw emotion like this. Te escribo a ti. Escuchando tus pensamientos, leyendo tus miradas. No puedo escapar.
i came here after reading in somewhere that the song could mean that elio was gideon and oliver was his god, so after he left elio is thinking if that summer actually happened, if that was real. i'm crying
ik for oliver...elio is never a joke but its the reality bro the reality...and timothees acting in the last scene is a masterpiece no wonder that he got nominated for best actor in the oscars..
Oliver is Elio's first love. Pure, strong and attached in so many ways. He feels a need of him that it almost makes him cry. He's so in pain because of the heavy feelings he has and he doesn't understand them at all. He just knows that there's something in him that desires or loves or just needs- those feelings, they are not possible to describe- Oliver. You will know if you ever experienced. How much that hurts. And in the other hand, Oliver, yes he might've had feelings for Elio but it's clear he doesn't feel the same way Elio does. All he sees at the end is just a summer fling, even deep inside he, himself knows there was something special. Elio, to him was just a you know- he liked him too, he was something new to try and experience. Maybe he didn't have to be the way everyone else is. Yes, it was over the hills, for Oliver too but it was never more than physical attraction and desire and yes, those feelings are as strong as love but not that deep. It was amazing, just impossibly amazing but at the end, Elio was just a summer fling for Oliver. He always knew he'd left in a month or two. He had jobs to get done. He had a life ahead of himself. He couldn't do what Elio would've wanted him to do. He could not stay, because to him, I am guessing, there was more important things than love. And this kind of love is not accepted always, maybe he feared that too. If you remember, Oliver asks Elio "Does all of this makes you happy?" it isn't important to him how he feels himself, because he knew it's just once in a life time and Elio would so hurt after he'd be gone. He just did it for Elio, if he was as happy as Elio he wouldn't even thought about those things. There would be no need. So, after all of the things happened, I don't think Elio did ever recover from them. It stayed as a scar- a wound. Something he couldn't get rid of. Something that bleed forever in him. He's so heartbroken.
He came. He left. Nothing else had changed. I had not changed. The world hadn’t changed. Yet nothing would be the same. All that remains is dreammaking and strange remembrance.
😭😭
Omg... 😔

A never ending emotionally pain. Still can't over the greatest film of all. I want to re-watch the film again but I don't want to cry again.
You know what’s so powerful about this scene? It is the sight of suffering in silence - something human beings can universally relate with. Elio is sitting facing the fire (which personifies two things: fire is a symbol of suffering and sitting by the fireside on a cold evening is perceived, I believe universally, as something quite intimate) while his back is facing his home, his family...the world, which continues to operate as if nothing has happened. But in that very instance of apparent normality, Elio is experiencing a moment of ultimate suffering, battling a consciousness of perpetual loss that he must come to terms with and which, paradoxically, he cannot come to terms with without suffering. This simultaneous coexistence of calmness and pain, of silence and screams, of love and loss is what makes this scene truly transcendental and, indeed, one of the finest.

ITS KILLING ME 😭 I THINK I CANT MOVE ON TO THIS.
Why he had to married?
I kept reminding myself to hold back your tears everytime i listen to this song.
Trivia - Timothee listening this song while shooting this scene for his emotional expression and for real cry ,sad feeling ❤
A friend of mine suggested the song & I must say this is a beautiful version, emotion, feelings and a bunch of memories that just rolled out in the form of tears. It has become my 4 AM song. ❤️🎵🌺🌌🌑
I always tried to finish this part but i've never had the courage to do so i can feel the pain knowing that there are people out there in real life living in tears for the same reason... I just adore this movie full of feelings and love! I will never forget it never!
and after 6 years i'm still crying for this film..
First Love
I cant see Elio cry 😭😔
it's so sad to understand elio's feeling in this scene, i'm staring my wall for half an hour with this exact feeling
This scene broke my heart in little pieces literally but is also one of my favorites ones ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Only true romantics understand and love this exquisite movie. ❤ I have friends who enjoyed it but were unmoved to see it again, or think of it again 😔 . I am obsessed 😍
I cried so damn much.... I felt so deep sadness, it really hit home....
A great movie that I have ever seen about love. No words can describe the feeling at the end of this movie. So sad and so special
We fall in love hoping for a future together and when it doesn't happen, it hurts like hell. Tears express the inner agony.
What a lovely movie!! It reminded me so many good moments. I watched it a day ago, and now I'm watching it again. 😊
Just finished this movie.. Impeccable, immaculate, I'm in awe for sure ❤️❤️✨
Most of these relationships end with how one person loves another unconditionally while the other person pities the way the other person loves him and ultimately ending it.
We need more movies like this!x
Call me by your name is one of my favorite movie 🎥!
It was a love story between 2 people that crossed the bounds of gender and age. Beautiful. Euphoric. Painful. Haunting.
It’s that moment when you’ve stopped all feelings then you remember the love you lost for someone. It snaps back. You remember a stranger.
My heart broke watching this movie 💔 !! Kudos to you Armie & Timmy What a beautiful couple

It's been 4yrs ..How can't I fall in love.with this song again and again...
1 of the best scene ive ever seen
I honestly didn t cry at all in this movie even tho it has a sad ending but instead i loved that about it because even if maybe in the second part there will be a happy ending it still shows that not every story has one and even if it s sad.. it s true
Please read the books : "Call me by your name" and "Find me"
@@kellysipewou5155 I’m reading find me right now. Some people said that half the book is about elio’s dad, is it still worth reading?
@@Leo-nf7po Please don't stop reading! There is so much more in the book than in the film. It gets better and better. Page 67 is the beginning of the second part and this is where things take off. The tension, the sensuality, the atmosphere, the love and more. The end is quite different but still great. And the very last paragraph ... perfect. Please don't stop reading !
There will be a second movie ?
@@vanillassweet9908 for now it s nothing sure but it will probabily be a 2nd one in a few years maybe
Breaks my heart until now. july, 2021
This song and love story are beautiful. It conveys well all the emotions you are feeling when you're heartbreaking. It hits so much when you've experienced like Elio an intense love story and it's all done. And you can't remove him/her of your head and heart
This part in the movie I cry ever fucking time 😢
Te escribo a ti.
Escuchando tus pensamientos, leyendo tus miradas.
No puedo escapar.
Where did you get that from?
@@WreckingYourAss uhmm I wrote it while listening to the song, didn't finish tho hahah

this movie broke my heart...
It had to end this way. It’s the early 1980’s. Although it broke my heart that Elio had to go through that pain.
i came here after reading in somewhere that the song could mean that elio was gideon and oliver was his god, so after he left elio is thinking if that summer actually happened, if that was real. i'm crying
ik for oliver...elio is never a joke but its the reality bro the reality...and timothees acting in the last scene is a masterpiece no wonder that he got nominated for best actor in the oscars..
reading human thoughts with this music it's beautiful
This song is pure heartbreak
Man .. the silent , the smile, the tears - its a best ending and a masterpiece of love.
Can the feeling of heartbreak be addictive...?
