I hope that Ableton would implement also new user interface where you put all your scene and setlist. Like what Studio One does now, they have show page and perform. But the problem with S1 is not just fit for 80% of musician who do live performance. There song to song switches doesn't have crossfades and also you can't set song parts. They just assume that musicians have the same patches from intro to outro. That's why it can only set song to song. And that's a drawback. But I love the looks for there show page. And when you go to perform mode, the looks become clear to see. You can see you song. And knobs and faders clearly. It's like mainstage with just different look. It looks like OCS in you phone. But I am staying with Ableton because of the drawback I mentioned which is more important.
I just need a basic tool that doesn't demand intense tech savvy skillset. I'm a solo keyboardist for a small church and need help for a more full presence for Sunday worship. But Im a windows user. Do I need to just buy an iPad and use Sunday live?
What about either of these vs the stand alone app. Is there a comparison? i.e. I don't see patch snapshots in the Mainstage version like there is in the iPad or desktop standalone apps.

@@mtbrogue88 Thank you, checked out the lite version and it worked well, I like the warmth of mainstage hopefully with some tweaking we can achieve this in Ableton.
@@luchology Mainstage crashes on me during Sunday performances... it doesn't happen all the time but its definitely enough to make me start looking into Ableton
Shouldn't it be possible to transform the overwhelming uglyness of this huge Ableton Interface into the simplicity of "just seeing what you need to see and control"? Basically: Seeing and controlling an interface looking like Mainstage or GigPerformer3, yet, running everything through Ableton which is running in the background. Maybe by putting Touch OSC above Ableton, with a tidy and visually clear List of VST-Sounds + Knobs for Live-Performance? Anyone has done that?
All I hear from MainStage is "visual, layout, visualize, customize, colors, link to color, etc" wow, so pro, I think the Pros use it cuz they invest more on hardware than real great software when talking about live performance DAW
The sounds from Ableton Live sound much more realistic than in MainStage though Ableton is more complicated to use than the other.

Ableton also has a free trial to try it out

I thought about getting Sunday keys but wasn't sure cpu load. I think I downloaded a free patch in the past and it was cpu overload.

Thanks did the content. Good comparison
Why dont you work on Android?
@Sunday Sounds are the pad sounds identical between the Mainstage and Ableton versions or are is it a completely different library?
whats the RAM usage on Abelton vs Mainstage??
16 GB for Ableton and 8Gb for mainstage , its a huge difference. is in the Faq section of each version
What midi controller do you prefer? I want to get 1 with a really nice keybed.

@@SundaySounds thanks. I just sent the request to join.
which one is more cpu intensive?
mainstage 3
Ableton manages CPU really well. It also launches very quickly and no lag. It is also a more stable DAW

Ableton is way more stable of a program. it may "require" more but it definitely runs smoother and quicker than Mainstage

Do these software work well with a 49 key midi keyboard or i have to get an 88
doesn't matter, as long as the keyboard has midi functionality, it'll work with both templates
Alex Santos thank you 😊
It works well with both...

MainStage does have some great plug-ins, plenty of Pros out there use it or Logic Pro (which uses the same plug-ins).
