I laughed because the vintage buses you mention are the ones I recognize from my time in Falikirk. I can't quite understand why a bus station is not needed, but I'm out of touch for a long while. It sure looks busy.
Will there be a new bus station? I am thinking Melville Street car park would be an ideal place. Newmarket Street does not feel like a proper bus station.
@@@AlpakaWhacker But it's not a proper bus station though. Nothing will ever be done to improve the Newmarket street stance I suspect. No bus station cafe, no bus ststion toilets will ever be created and no passenger information screens will ever be installed but these screens have existed everywhere else even at standard bus stops in msny other towns in Scotlsnd. And to top it all up almost as far to walk to change buses as you from one end of buchsnsn bus ststion to the other in Glasgow plus you are often forced to cross the road in Newmarket Street in order to change buses unlike at all the proper bus stations. What was really annoying was the councils all over Scotland havr developing brand new bus stations for their towns where there was already an existing bus station to replace their rickety old bus stations or a brand new bus/train interchange. Yet Falkirk council.were one of the few councils in Scotland that did nothing and Falkirk retained their rickety old bus station with the bus station only ever receiving piecemeal repair and touchup work. Falkik must be the only town area in Scotland that has the full monty of mainly hard seated rickety old bues, with more hsrd seated buses in service in Falkirk than anywhere else in Scotland as well as a rickety old bus stsion or no bus statikn pluss high fares, snd no.proper connection with the trains. East Lifhoan snd tbe borders lost theur tickety old buses, and Stirljng (as well as First bus old uncomfortable stock) have at least regula Citylink/Megsbus, and Stagecoach plus few small friendly bis compsnies also providing local services zerving them plus a proper modernised bus station too. To/from Falkirk you can't travel from bus staton to bus staion like you csn Stirling can or even on Citylink cosch between Stirling and Edinburgh with relevant passenger information screens for their journey and have a drink or meal snd go to the toilet at both ends. Falkirk has to put up with the rubbish Newmsrket Street and teminating at the dreadful Waterloo Place bus stop and there is no cafe or toilet, and yes there are passenger information at the bus stop it only relevsnt to Lorhisn buses or Lofhian Country huses, snd you get no chance of trsvelling by coach between Falkirk.and Ednburgh the way you can from Stirllng, just on a standard carriage service bus.
@@dvidclapperton Come on! If you're going to type a long-winded rant, you could proofread and check the spelling before posting the comment. I agree with much of what you say. Falkirk needs to have a decent transport hub as other major towns and cities do and not have travellers getting lost and missing their next bus or train.
They should never have shut that place even though the services were rubbish they did provide information on each of the stances. Firstbus is getting worse, even some of the drivers are assholes. 6 times in as many months I have been challenged for not wearing a mask although I am exempt and wear a sunflower lanyard. One driver almost refused me on and I showed him the website that says so. During the journey, I was on the phone to the Firstbus headquarters and it was confirmed that I do not have to wear a covid exempt badge with the sunflower lanyard. I was told that there will be a meeting where the driver concerned is involved. I said that I wanted this raised to a complaint issue as this was the sixth time a driver has raised a private illness to public view. The operator on the phone agreed.

First Bus! That explains it! Falkirk was the home of Midland Bluebird. So sad.
That is when first bus and midland bluebird met
Real shame there's only that newsagent place and the furniture store there anymore.
Shame that falkirk station has come to an end,so will it be demolished or what?
Yeah its unfortunate. A lot of people saying its going to get demolished and turned into flats but could be just rumours though

@@dvidclapperton no plans for a replacement bus station. Newmarket street is intended to be a permanent terminus/"hub" for all buses
