My favorite part of the trailer was when Kraven said "It's Kravening time!" and then Kravened all over.
I am actually impressed that they made the whole movie in just 3 minutes-and they even included the post credit scene 👏. Saves me a trip from going to the theater 😂
There are several things you don’t know about the plot from watching the trailer, unless you were not paying attention and just overlooked them 🤷🏻♀️

crowe has more of the real kraven accent than ATJ does and that's what is really bugging me with this film trailer.

It looks like they turned him into an anti-hero. He had something like superpowers in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
He always had powers. He had a potion that gave him animal senses and strength. He was similar to Wolverine, but had super strength.

Sony don't have their own super-heroes so they turn all the Spider-Man villains they can use into super-heroes lol
Yes this movie is giving him that title. They'll all still be Spiderman villains. Its just they have their own stories with adversaries as well.

The Kraven in the comics was NOT some animal lover. He was a great hunter, and he hunted for the sport of it...NOT because they were "Bad Guys"...thats more the Punisher's thing!
As for powers...YES in the comics he DID have Superhuman strength, speed, stamina and agility AS WELL AS Enhanced Senses, but that was via Chemical/Magical Enhancement after ingesting Calypso's mythical potions NOT from a drop of Lion blood! He did NOT have a connection to the Animal Kingdom...thats more The Beastmaster's/ DC's B'wana Beast's kinda thing.
Personally I woulda preferred Joe Manganiello or Jason Mamoa for the role of Kraven as they are older, BIGGER and physically stronger and overall just look the part as opposed to this guy who's too young and is WAY too scrawny to play Kraven (A character whos SUPPOSEDLY even stronger and faster than Captain America)
It's weird, he looks GREAT in the poster when hes on his throne but doesnt look as intimidating while on screen, but then again, you then again thats the magic of photo editing! You can do a LOT with photoshop that you CANT do in the movies.
All in all I think its kinda cool, I DO like that they went more R rated for this rather than ruin it like they did with Venom, but I STILL think they're making a mistake by making him an anti-hero, protector of the wild kinda guy...we ALREADY have a guy like that...he's called The Phantom!
@@BIGDaddioJohnBhe's young, what's wrong with that? Still time to develop his character into a more kraven type one from the comics. I think there will be more to the story as to how lion blood transformed him, maybe his mother injected him with Calypso potions as a kid to protect her son from his father etc but didn't get time to finish as kravens dad killed her so needed that extra blood to work? All in all looks like a much needed R movie.
I’ve been a huge Kraven fan all my life. I’m perfectly happy with this take.
He’s always had mystical endowed powers and an obvious connection with animals. I understand why they simplified it and went with more of a Wolverine track. Far better than when they made him a giant Lion in Spectacular Spider-Man.
The thing that excites me is the movie doesn’t look like a typical superhero movie. They’re actually committing to him being a violent badass. They don’t treat him like a joke or as some white male strawman.
I’m more excited to see this movie than anything Marvel or DC is putting out.

I agree. It feel like Wolverine, Beastmaster (anyone still remember that film) and The Punisher had a love child. This movie might get me to watch a Marvel (well marvel-ish) film again.

Not a typical superhero film because he isn't a superhero he is a villain bad guy
I have 1 issue. Raven was never a hero fighting corruption. He's always had mystical ties to animals he got from Africa but he's just a very strong smart hunter. No super powers to run on walls and shit.
It's just the trailer my guy, we ain't seen nothing yet .
And I’m the comics he actually does have some superhuman abilities from ingesting special herbs he stole from a witch doctor or something. Speed, strength, stamina, slow aging. Kind of like captain America

This looks pretty good and as a Spider-Man fan from the age of around 12 and now I’m 41…this seems like a decent portrayal of Kraven from what I remember. 🤷🏼♂️
Not gonna lie … kinda liked it. Looks pretty brutal. Definitely not the same character as the comic but we will see. I am interested how they will weave Spider-Man in. Obviously setting up the sinister six. If this was done by Disney’s marvel it would have been a woman

Crowe is the more interesting than "Radioactive Lion Blood" guy just by talking.
I physically cringed when he got magical powers from Lion blood instead of an infection and sepsis.
I always thought as a Spidey fan that Kraven doesn't have powers, he's basically more like Tarzan with human peak abilities, hence why he developed his animalistic instincts in terms of tracking and hunting.... i'm okay with him having powers, but c'mon man, a random lion's blood grants him powers?😂 If it was Oscorp made lion, i would've believed it...other than that, this trailer looks good, wished Venom had this R-rated moments too
I think in the comics that he used rare potions to make him like a Captain America type as in he doesn't have super powers but he's the ultimate human physically. The film doesn't look bad at all. Kinda weird that they chose him to make a movie about. I'd rather that they did the Hobgoblin or do a better Venom and put him up against Spider Man. Venom as he is in the films is terrible.

I know nothing about the character, and I'm sick of Marvel, but that trailer really makes me want to see this.

The lion blood thing is stupid, but it could be interesting. In the comics he takes jungle herbs to be juiced up and is around 80 years old. The herbs extend his lifespan. There is also some voodoo witch involved. If you haven't read it, Kraven's Last Hunt where he beats Spiderman, buries him alive and takes his place as a more brutal version. And the end will blow your mind.

Kraven was just another Evil Marksman-type, back in the 80s. Like MCU Falcon said "Everybody's got a schtick..."
Aaron Taylor Johnson is likeable and Kraven was interesting as a character in the 90’s Spiderman cartoon, so I’d give this a go.
Looked good to me, especially when compare to all the recent crap we have had.
When I read spider man comics as a kid, I loved Kraven. But I think this will be another “Morbin time”…

Not gunna lie I actually kinda liked this a lot, I was super hyped through most of what was shown, I also personally liked adding some powers to him (caviot in not super knowledgeable on the comics) but I think this is one of the first times I've been like I'll go see that in theaters if it stays that quality...and I haven't seen a movie since the demon slayer movie so yea it's been a hot min
I don't think the trailer is helped when the first voice you hear is spot on Kraven, then you hear Instagram model Kraven with his David Beckham pitched voice.
Aaron Taylor Johnson - good actor but he looks like a jacked young man. They should have cast someone who looks much more mature, someone in their 40's - preferably that's smoked since he was 12 years old for the voice.
Kraven should look like he has been through some stuff, that he is this experienced hunter - you cast someone a little older it makes it more believable and contrasts better against Spidey's youthful exuberance and inexperience.
But maybe they are being optimistic and see him in the role for the next 15 years (still wont help his voice).
It was the same with Hemsworth - when I first saw him cast as Thor my first thought was "give him 10 years and he will look more like Thor from the comics".
Also they should have kept Kraven more grounded, yes give him powers, but not all this wall running rubbish we see from nearly every superhero nowadays. Kraven is as much about his intellect and cunning as it is his keen senses.

My 11 yr old is super excited for this movie. He loves Aaron Taylor Johnson (from bullet train)and kraven. He’s been trying to figure out if he wants to be tangerine for Halloween or now kraven. Lol hopefully this movie is good. His all time favorite character is taskmaster and was devastated when he saw what marvel did
Kraven has powers in the cartoons i.e. 90’s Spider-Man the animated series, Ultimate Spider-Man, and ESPECIALLY Spectacular Spider-Man. I wasn’t a big fan of lion blood dripping into one of Kraven’s wounds and it giving him lion powers but considering how he’s been adapted in other media it’s fine; it’s not weirder than Spectacular Spider-Man was, that’s for sure.

Maybe Kraven and his lion’s blood can have a team up with Charlie Sheen and his “tiger blood.” They can call themselves the Blood Brothers.

They did change stuff which the lion attack itself was very strange even to have the blood drop into his body. Which that in itself was awkward but the overall it looks cool. As long as it sets him up to take down anyone against him and being the biggest game hunter around, then that's good.

I don't remember anything about this character from my comic bood days. I didn't even watch the trailer (till now) becaue 'oh, another marvel movie meh' but, now that I've seen it, this looks really good. I'm not sure why they seem uninterested in it. Is it because it's from Disney/Marvel? or something else, that I'm missing? Honest question

It looks well made(and the director is very skilled so at least from a technical side it will be good provided Sony doesn’t mess that up) but my problem is that Kraven isn’t Kraven, he’s a hunter who lives for “the thrill of the hunt!” And they’re positioning him as some kind of Anti Hero? Why?
I hope it’s good because jc chandor is very talented and has made good movies
In the first minute, it made me think of Tangerine at full power, lol. Bullet Train is a bit underrated.
Among the few things I liked from the reboot of X-Files was the idea of an animal turning into a man, with the animal feeling us like savages, it was a refreshing idea. A man turning into an animal is not what Kraven is, and somehow feels like a generic idea. But except the parts where the actor jumps like a cat seems a movie that is not restraining itself as Sony did with Morbius, and Russel Crowe has that fighty intensity that goes even when he is playing scientists like Jor-El.
It looks like a great stand alone action movie. ATJ looks great in this role. I don't think we're gonna have another Morbin Time on our hands, boys. Cautiously optimistic for this one.

Looks god enough to at least go watch. I only remember Kraven from Spiderman and I think he had a version of Captain America Super serum.
Been this way for a while, if a gutsy studio just went R rated (anti Disney) in the comic book genre they would clean up.

In the comics, Kraven drinks a herbal potion which enhances his physical attributes. Marvel's Official Handbooks say he can lift two tons and run at speeds of up to 60 MPH. The potion also slows down his aging. He was born before the Russian Revolution in 1917. His family was part of the old Russian nobility that was overthrown at that time.
This trailer looks interesting, although I'm not keen on this trend of Sony making films about Spider-Man villains in a universe where Spider-Man doesn't exist. Feels like such a wasted opportunity.

I read spidey in the 90's and didn't see Kraven pop up much. I think he was deceased at the time but they always implied Spider Man had to kill him or something and therefore the character was always in the back of his mind. I could be wrong about that but I also have no other knowledge of the character.
Usually the less I know about them the more I enjoy the films. I knew plenty about Morbius and....
the tone caused whiplash it was all over the place. BIG red flag though is Russel Crow and an accent.

Unlike Disney , I will give this film the benefit of the doubt. It might be a good movie with bad trailer as opposed to bad movie with good trailer. Venom was good although it was cheesy still loved it. Also a plus a comic book movie with maybe no identity politics.

In classic Marvel comics from the 1960s, Kraven beat up Spiderman pretty easy in Spidey high school years. Kraven with the potions is nearly as strong as Spiderman pound for pound. A great comic book character from the Silver Age, really cool costume too, unlike this Kraven from Sony.

I have the slight impression that this Rhino will be as skinny as Spider Man 3's Venom, compared to the comics version.

Kraven the Hunter was originally one of Spider Man's archenemies other than Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Let's see if the MCU can put together another Spider Man sequel with Kraven in the film as the main villain. That would be a box office smash for sure...easily a billion dollars globally!

The only thing I have a problem with the trailer is that Russell Crowe sounds more like Kraven the Hunter than the actor playing Kraven, that’s the only small flaw I see so far in this film besides that looks good.
Never read the Kraven the Hunter comics, so I’ll leave to comic book fans to debate the finer details of this trailer. From what little I know about the character, he’s a pretty intense character and I’m not getting that completely from Aaron Taylor Johnson in this trailer. I get the intensity and screen presence more from Russell Crowe than Taylor Johnson or maybe it just me. Well, I hope Sony did a better job with this movie than what they did with Morbius. It would be nice to have a good live action comic book movie again. We’ll see.

Yeah, Kraven had superhuman strength, slightly below Spider-Man's level, enhanced senses, agility, tracking & durability. The Earth 616 Kraven didn't have any familial connection mystical or otherwise with any animals, so that's a new one and he was obviously an expert marksman.
Trailer looks great only thing I hated no Spiderman and didn't get his powers from a drug like in the 90s Spiderman cartoons
So the writers saw The Beastmaster and thought that was the inspiration for the comic character?

The biggest thing is that it looks on par with Venom and Morbius: average but nothing remarkable. The one thing going for it over those two is that, I imagine, it will be rated R based on the amount of blood which is something Venom should have been. And at least they acknowledge him as a 'villain', which would be refreshing if they actually embrace it as a villain story (granted they made his dad an even bigger villain so he ends up being an anti-hero).
However it is still unclear what Sony is building towards. That is, they have been trying to get their Sinister Six story going since The Amazing Spiderman, but what after they get there? It is not that everything needs to be connected but the Sony movies seem to be stuck in a weird place where they aren't of a grand scale as a story or adventure to launch the individual Spiderman adjacent characters to create their own standalone franchises, but also not small enough to be ignored.
