    This is most likely one of the things I'll be hauling while working on the freight side of ARR. Definitely an interesting and relatable job.

    Best thing of ALL is that if you are not working you will still be charged the $15.00 Dollars a day and the pay is Minimum Wage at best. Just a bunch of Bull S-----t and Companies make millions of dollars of the low wages.

      Most companies do not charge room/board for the day unless you got 8 hrs in.

      For people who are unskilled, this job gives atleast 15000$ to work for 3 months, that's enough to live for an year.
      The company pays for your flight to alaska and the return ticket as well.

      LOL not even. Did the math, boats are promising "crew shares" now of 3-7K for 2 to 5 months. They expect 16 hour days. 7X16 =112 hours per week. 112 X 4.3 weeks = 481 hours per month, X 2 = 963 hours worked on a 2 month rotation. SO . . . $3000 in "crew share"will net you about $3 and some pennies per hour. Of course that is BEFORE expenses and taxes.
      Like everything else, this "processor" crap job probably USED to pay a lot better, but now it's just a terrible slave labor job that must be worked under third-world conditions. Hard pass to anyone with any self-respect or talent at all. You CAN do better than $3 an hour.

    Is the pay taxable or nontaxable since its made in int waters

    • @CathyGoes
      @CathyGoes 3 роки тому +1

      Taxable just like any other wage. Most of these boats don't go far enough out to not be under normal Alaska state wage laws.

      my dude, start walking the docks, that is the best way. If you get on a boat that the cannery sets you up with then you will make less money. The boat owners are in debt to the processors so you will be making less in all likelyhood.
      Walk the docks, say you work hard, you can get on a boat
