Bukavu residents pray for peace in eastern DRC

Hundreds of residents in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo's Bukavu gathered for interfaith church services to pray for peace on Wednesday, as fighting between Congolese forces and M23 escalated despite a unilateral ceasefire declared by the rebels earlier this week.
The prayers, led by local religious leaders and officials, aimed to unite communities amid fears the violence could spread to South Kivu province.
