Band Maid is healthy. They are very good for your mental health. Feeling down? Just listen to Band Maid and they’ll cheer you up.
They keep it fresh by upgrading their outfits every couple of years and they call their Maid Costumes their battle outfits. They have done something completely different twice, first as their Alter Ego, Band Maiko and then last Christmas when they did their Acoustic concert in 'normal' clothes. Band Maid has been my latest obsession! I discovered them maybe a week before their world tour this year and that was was a huge bummer seeing how much I wanted to go. Misa, the bassist, is an absolute monster but tbvh, they’re all crazy talented!
If you wanna check something else out, I recommend Domination. Definitely the gateway drug into the Maid fandom but, my favorite as of late has been their instrumental, From now On *the official live version,* and a slightly older song, Different. Both are great at showing off their technical skills and musicianship as well as their artistry!

Band Maid's Secret Super Power is to sound familiar and make you nostalgic for rock you grew up on. It hit's so good.
2 of them love the maid outfits (the guitarists) the other 3 tolerate them, and if you watch enough of their videos you'll notice how much the other 3 stray from the maid esthetic over time.
If you love the Bass, I'd recommend Dice. Really, just go to their channel and pick videos, you'll be fine. There aren't any bad ones (yes, this sounds like fanboy nonsense, but you'll learn)
I saw them in Dallas last October - and yes, you can't help but fall in love with them. It was awesome! They played "from now on" which is an instrumental, followed by "Rock in Me" and "Sayonakidori" which are Miku-led songs. You should react to any of those. There were several maids around me, one in particular with a white wig and a complete costume, so yes, I'll watch if you wear a maid outfit.
Kind of weird being a first comment. There's so much to recommend from this band, it's tough to know where to start. Since your an anime fan I think you'd appreciate Unleash which is their anime video. Pretty well done with high end production imo. They've also recently released From Now On which is an instrumental tour de force. That being said, their live performances are where they really shine. Try Domination, Freedom or Play from the 2020 World Domination Concert. You can't go wrong with any of those three. Have a happy holiday and I look forward to your next BM reaction

The official live version of "Domination" is a demonstration of their stellar on-stage performances before an audience. Their new instrumental MV called "From Now On" showcases Band-Maid's beautiful compositional skills combined with their expert mastery of their respective instruments. There will be many other recommendations, of course, simply because all their music is so consistently great. By the way, looking forward for your maid outfit.
Old Mr. B already did a few maid outfit reactions. You haven't even scratched the live stuff, which is where they really shine. For Christmas 2021, they did an acoustic live stream (now available on DVD) dressed as Santa and the reindeer.
"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic.
Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. I only ran across Band-Maid earlier this year and was astounded to find out that they formed in 2013 and have released 10 albums and EP's. I have yet to click on a Band-Maid video and not be entertained. I do not understand why the maids are *not* filling stadiums. Their live shows are incredible.
Yes, most of their music rocks hard but watch out for when they slow it down, quiet down, and get serious: no other band performs a torch song or ballad like they can. Check out "Daydreaming", "About Us", or "Page".
Also check out their BAND-MAIKO videos, they're a hoot! They rewrote several songs as Japanese Folk-Metal and performed them as apprentice Geisha (Maiko). Lots of subtle humor in the "Secret Maiko Lips" video

Band-maid has the perfect balance of masculinity in their sound and femininity in their delivery - if that makes sense. I think that’s the magic that makes them untouchable.

They wear the Maid outfits any time they are together as a band ie. doing shows or out and about except when travelling during tours. Miku is mostly the only one to wear her maid outfit at other times. Saiki, the lead singer, has a real fetish for top end stylish clothes and shoes and in the past was a photographic model as well as a few other interests.

The girls refer to their costumes as their "battle armor", and it has evolved over the years. That means I'm not a bonnet at all. I'm a helmet! A battle helmet, with bullet proof lace, nano-fiber ribbons and able to protect Kanami from *all* the pillow fights!
You should react to "Wonderland" and their recently released instrumental "From Now On". Saiki shows her vocal range and versatility in that song. "From Now On" shows the incredible talent of the group outside of vocals.

Fun fact, the lead singer, Saiki refused to wear the maid outfit, which is why she's the only one in all black (edit: MISA, the bassist, is also in black, but I don’t know if there’s a reason for that). I forget why exactly she refused though. Choose me is also my favourite Band-Maid song!

@@adamlopez2275 It's almost the same reason why Saiki does not like the Maid costume. I guess a unique black maid costume (I believe MISA mentions that Chinese maids wear those type of costumes) does really suit her more than the costume you find her wearing in the MV of "Thrill".
Well, looks like it's maid outfit time for you! Here's the thing - they look at their maid outfits as their "battle armor" - and when you react, avec maid outfit, to "Don't you tell ME!" (MV is great, live from Zepp Tokyo even better but you'll have to go underground for that one), you too may feel super powers coming on. You'll want to do everything in the maid outfit from then on, and you may even feel the urge to knock over tables and shit just for fun.😉
Well, since you seem to like the lyric line 'Become my prisoner', there can really only be one recommendation for your next video from these ladies. 'Don't Let Me Down' 😎... Small hint, the lyrics are completely in English, but maybe hard to understand. You should either open them alongside (as they are not included in the video) or definitely have a look at them afterward. 🤭 If I would ever let myself be willingly imprisoned by anyone, then by these ladies, or more precisely the vocalist Saiki. They don't make it difficult to choose them. :)

The LIVE version is even better. Check it out sometime. At first they did feel a little self conscious, except for Miku. She was used to it from the Cafe'. But later on they felt like it was their armor for going into battle. They have a new instrumental you could do celled, 'From Now On'.
About the maid outfits, Matt, or "the gimmick" as some have called it. Miku, and later the whole band, wanted to show that cute "Kawaii" girls (dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling without even breaking a sweat) could rock as hard as any guy band (sweating all over their so called, hip street / grunge clothes and making it look like what they're doing -- their "art" -- is so painful and hard)... and by showing that contrast (they call it the "Gap"), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! The Gap is all about women empowerment.
Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working all too well. Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. They are considered by many as the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
I recommend Kiskei knot by hololives 4th gen it was a farewell song made by the group for a member who was leaving. I would also use the captions on it because they have cute little Easter eggs to all the members

Comment for outfit, its already there but I have to support this anyway. Everyone suggests Domination Official Live for a reason you can't go wrong there, or with anything this band of maids does. Personal favorites for me are Blooming, and if you liked Choose Me I think you'll like Blooming even more and Influencer one of their newer tracks and videos is great. Pick anything though it's all good stuff.
Mattables, if you really want to see Saiki's talent, react to "Puzzle" the official acoustic video. The back story on the song is the singer is in love with a man (maybe from an affair), and seeing him with his significant other and realizes she will not be part of his life. The frustration , anger, and eventually grief that Saiki's evokes in the song is heartbreaking. It could make you cry from listening to it. Also, Kanami, on acoustic guitar, provides beautiful background vocals to the song.
More Band Maid but live please .
suggestion for best Band Maid experience.... LIVE, LIVE, LIVE....The only one I have seen that is not better than the MV, is Dice. Just go to their page and pick one. There is no bad song there.

The genius of Band-Maid lies in making you think you're familiar with the riff (and you might have heard something vaguely similar some time back) and, as you said, you feel "at home" with it, you feel that the melody is "right" and you have an affinity for it. Very few bands have ever done this consistently in their music, like the Beatles and Pink Floyd managed to do. Mostly it's one-off songs and sections of albums that hit you like this, but these girls seem to hit the mark every time.
Not sure why so many reactors end up at choose me so early- i dont think its even in their top 50 tracks imo- tho ofcourse its good- ALL their songs are :) And its certainly one of the better early tracks. But they have like 30-40 songs MUCH better.
