  • Here's a way to get trash out of the parks more easily. You use a rope with a pulley on it and use that to carry trash up to the road from the river. It's probably mostly only interesting to people who really want to clean up parks and protect Nature. But it's practical!

    This is great!! I need to haul firewood up a slippery hill and your video is more helpful to me than a schematic. Thanks!!

      Thanks Zeke! Just be sure you have a nice strong rope which will stay pretty tight, if it's for a long-term install. Pulleys are awesome!

    Thank you. I wasn't looking for this great idea but it is certainly going to come in very useful as I have a very steep slope at the bottom of my garden where I keep gravel, compost, pots and such like. I hope you and your family are all well at this time. God bless.

    This is great! I am trying to come up with something to transport trash and groceries up and down a steep hill for my elderly parents. Biggest problem is we don't have any trees handy in the area to use. Thanks for posting!

    • @evanandnature

      Shawn, just be sure to use a very strong "Pulley rope", the pull-rope can be weaker but the main rope the pulley goes through has to be real strong. Hope it can help!

      what kind of rope do you recommend and to pull the groceries? what do you recommend that i do so it won’t hang down? i’m really trying to make this happen

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  3 роки тому

      @@ninamarie2312 I found the best for me was a 1/2" hard nylon twisted rope. Really strong and stood up to lots of tension which is important to keep the line from sagging. The pulley rope needs to be strong and have good tension, but the pull rope you attach to the pulley can be less strong. Best of luck!

    Is there a way to ask you a question off public? Injured vet trying to figure out how to work on my hard which needs material. I can't lift 5 gal buckets so I have 2-5 - 3 gal buckets. My questions revolve around weight changes from a carry to a pull. Thanks for your post - large help - just need a push info wise for my project. Have gmail - just do not know how to contact if that is ok -

    How does this work. You don't demonstrate how it works!

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  3 роки тому

      Sorry Drew, I sure tried to! It's very simple in practice, just put a pulley on a rope, tie between two trees or anything solid, then clip a pull rope onto the pulley and then you can pull all kinds of things up steep embankments. Has worked great for years to pull tires and junk up steep areas in parks! Sorry I didn't show it better, thanks for asking.

  • @john-bullenglish6343
    @john-bullenglish6343 2 роки тому

    Instead of rolling it up the hill, I bet you’ll spend more time and effort using a pulley to drag that rim and tire on the ground as you demonstrated

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  2 роки тому

      No, that's not true. We usually do this when we have 30 or more tires and other trash down a steep hill- there is NO comparison between doing 30 tires by pulley or by hand, not even close. Thanks though!

You were invited over so I could watch you with my wife. No, but that wasn't good enough. You had to take the youngin. I was supposed to get first taste of that. She is gone now. Across the smoky mountains staying with grandma Eldridge. You won't see her again you wicked wicked man.

      Yeah this is only for TRASH, I'd never put more weight on anything than it can handle. On most cleanups I've been on, most trash bags and tires weigh less than the critical weight capacity of these tools. But yeah, don't go zip-lining on it!!!

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  4 роки тому +2

      Well, I promise if you're rolling 50 filthy tires up a steep embankment (which is uneven, rocky, trashy, etc) it makes good sense! In my experience anyway. But if you're looking for exercise, yeah, I agree.
