I dont play ranked anymore really, but a year ago i have changed my name to HitTheNexusPls because i lost so much games because my team wanted to get kills over hitting the nexus :P
The unfortunate outcome of an "almost" asymmetrical map. The map is littered with pretty subtle biases towards one of the teams (mainly affecting jungle and top, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if there was a significant difference in win rates for top lane and jungle based on what side they're on). Edit: Actually just checked and blue side has consistently had the higher win rate since 2016. There's a significant vision advantage since the camera is angled towards red side, so blue side has more vision. An even greater disadvantage is when red side bot is fighting under turret, because they have to fight vertically with the camera angle working against them. I would assume this is why the tri-bushes exist in the horizontal portion of the lanes, so the advantaged side is more gankable when they're pushed up into the vertical half of a lane. Also, who asked me? Why am I spewing this shit.
@@jizzmastercumstack red team normally is picked for the team with higher winrates, to counter balance the problems with the camera. It stills having a higher win rate for Blue.

I feel like this is way more of a problem for some champs than others. Like I don't think Ziggs cares too much. Maybe you can just pick a comp that's good at bombing enemy summoning platform from range?
I think it's due to the nexus' height. I don't think a lot of people know this but in league you're not really clicking a chessboard. The map does have verticality, and that's why a lot of weird things happen. You're interacting with a fully 3d environment, from an isometric camera perspective. The end result of that is stuff like this due to perspective warping. You can see it most if you for instance were to place two champs at a mathematical axis of symmetry with varying z coordinates I.e. one on the stairs and one on the rift and fire a skill shot down that same mathematically defined line joining two xy value points. It would appear the shot would miss due to the difference in z value at that camera angle, generally seeming to pass further up on the map, but it will in fact land. As that skill shot which actually projects in a straight line covering any conceivable z value, still carries the corresponding xy vector. Edit. X value and y value are explanatory. If the map were viewed from a top down perspective. The z value is the height. This is why that Nidalee spear and lux ult fired from jungle into river always seems to miss visually but still ticks damage. It's xy vector overlaps with where you are sitting. The Nidalee is sitting at a slightly higher spot on the map which at this camera perspective makes it appear as though it were a clear miss. The actual fix oddly enough is to just make every object on the map the same height at baseline. The map curves down into the river, and those stairs are real stairs. Issue is, this wouldn't look at all aesthetically pleasing. The nexus is actually the highest point on the map. This is why it's hitbox is so jacked up. They need to improve the hitbox though and make it actually the right shape as here it seems to actually just be one big cylinder.
I think both team should oppose them horizontally so camera angle works the same for both. Just turn the map and camera 45° clockwise. This way both sides' base will be completely equal.
my suspicion is that its because the top of the nexus is much narrower than the base and the hit box is just a cylinder sized to suit the base then extend upwards, and the side difference is caused by the slightly different camera angles in wither corner of the map
No, they're done with caring about their players wanting to be able to kite around the nexus so they can finally end the damn game Also, they're lazy fucks with no common sense who constantly ignore bugs and buff broken champions while simultaneously nerfing champions who are already six feet under

The worst is when your teammates want to get more kills and you decide to dance next to the nexus so you let them do their stuff but the emotes make you attack the nexus for some reason.
tbh, an ADC can just hide behind the Nexus hitbox and try to stop them from killing it. You don't really want to ignore a lot of damage while you finish the game, so this can be rarely exploited.
I get it yall on comments just kinda trolling with the "it's so that players actually start hitting the nexus and not throwing", but there's too many comments about this which maked me think people actually believe this to make sense, which is an extremely stupid take, because there's plenty and I mean plenty of games where even with the open nexus you will still fight the enemy team who is trying to protect it, and when this happens obviously you can't just click nexus and hope they don't instantly kill u before ur team can end. No, you have to fight them. Take 1 or 2 out make them low, kite, dodge you know like a normal team fight and then foccus the nexus, problem is with this you can't kite or dodge whatsoever, and not even to mention when you try and backdoor, it's basicly impossible to backdoor now if someone recalls for you, because you are literally stuck hitting the nexus and can't auto atack and move, so unless riot wants people to stop backdooring I truly don't see the point of this, besides of course riot being completely out of touch on their own game.
This happened to me when I was trying to spawn trap the enemy team and I thought riot added a feature that forced you to hit the nexus when you’re next to it with no enemies around.
