- Nguyen Vinh Thuy, the Emperor Bao Dai, was the last Emperor of the last imperial dynasty (the Nguyen) of Vietnam. He came to the throne in 1932 but his efforts at reform were frustrated by the French authorities. In 1945 the communist revolution forced his abdication. He later returned as "Chief of State" of Vietnam until his prime minister ousted him in 1955. He lived in exile in France until his death in 1997.
Viet Nam is a beautiful country, with a very sad history.
So Sad that war destroy many country & their beautifull culture .
We today have Lost many Monarch Country , im more close to Laos & Viet nam .

most if not all of the modern Asian monarchies were highly effective institutions especially when it came to promoting both stability and progress - and like their European counterparts when they were eliminated disaster for the respective former Kingdoms followed.
@joel1923 lovely Country and friendly people. they have lived through great tragedy and have survived for over 2,000 years despite the attempts of the Chinese, French and Americans to "colonize" and/or eliminate them as a nation.

Chinese, French had to get out of VietNam but the Marxist from Russia and Red China did colonize VietNam ! Jewish German ideology with Marx, Engels, Trotzsky, Borodine...Mao were they not colonialists ?
How is Princess Thi-Nga who now lives in the State of Florida in the United States related to Bao Dai? Is she is daughter or granddaughter?
