This is the video I've been waiting for ever since GoPro announced the boom. Thanks!
I gotchu 😉
Love the shots!
Very informative and on topic! Thanks!
Glad you like it! Taking suggestions on future videos!
Dude..ive found you..really like the way you present your video..im now going to watch some more
Glad you like it 🤘🏼
I am a skier. I want to connect the Boom to my shoulder (using both arms) to create the fake drone effect with my Hero 12 or Insta 360 One X2
That’s cool! How are you planning on connecting it to your shoulder?
@@TG_Shreds…. I have a GoPro backpack with built in shoulder mount.
Can I buy one of those booms with suction and later on just buy the bar mount to use with the boom? Thanks!
Yes definitely! if you look at GoPro.com you will see the Boom mount sold in three different configurations. If you are looking to buy the arms only, then check out the cheapest option called: "Boom + Adhesive Mounts"
If anybody broke the boom arm let me know.
I got the adhesive boom arm because I had already a suction cup mount so I could attach it to the boom arm.
I had plans on putting it on outside my car but when I put the gopro 12 along with its cage , I put it mounted on my car rear window inside my car and Shot a couple of videos. All of a sudden I heard the thing falling off the window.
I stopped and pulled over my car and I saw that the thing broke in 2 , just where the 2 tubes make junction .
I went like * good thing I didn't put it outside my car , otherwise I would've have ended with a lost camera.
I mean , 75 bucks for that thing.
What do you think it was ?
Did my gopro cage put extra weight in there?
Did I assemble the tube backwards?
Should I get this mount again and correct things that probably need more attention?
Definitely a bummer to hear. I personally haven’t had any break or have heard anyone else breaking any boom arms. I would contact GoPro customer support if you haven’t already. They are going to ask if you were using the GoPro suction cup or a third party mount/ suction cup. For any suction cup to work properly, it is essential to have the cup clean and free of any dirt or debris. Even a spec of sand can ruin the suction. Suction cups also work best on smooth flat surfaces that also need to be pristine clean. I’m curious about the “cage” you are referring to? Can you let me know the brand and model of cage you are referring to? It’s super important to not let the camera (and cage) hang too dramatically in one direction without the support of another boom arm hence the triangulation adapter and having multiple points of contact. In the video I made, refer to the car mount and how I used multiple suction cups and multiple boom arms to mount with confidence.
@@TG_Shreds thank you for your reply.
I have the gopro brand suction cup. That one is intact.
The boom adhesive arm is the one that broke in 2.
I got the boom arm through B&H site because when I wanted to order through gopro site they said they had the item but I would have to pay (85) bucks for just shipping and handling , why that much for that item? I Idon't know but I grabbed it from B&H photo site. Luckly yes, i wll be able to get a full refund. They also asked my of I was looking to get the item replaced but i went like "nah, i need more info or research if there has been someone on this situation and maybe i just should wait until I study the whole thing then I can just order it again.
The cage I am talking about is not a cage, but it looks like one. I think is the media mod where you have options to mount a light and a mic. Where you as well have 3 inputs on the back of the unit like charging cable, micro hdmi cable and audio jack.
I also intended to add this mount for my next trip to the beach for body boarding but now I am really hesitant about it. lol.
@@TG_Shreds B&H photo site also sells this boom arm and yes, it is a gopro brand.
i get all my accesories through gopro site but this time I didn't because they had no other option but for me to pay 85 bucks for just shipping and handling.
Why?
Who knows!!!
It was free shipping and handling on the B&H photo.
Really bad as I am subscribed to go pro.
Could i attatch this to a shoulder mount? I want to record myself hiking
The likelihood of you being able to attach it to a shoulder mound is pretty high! Do you have a shoulder mount specifically that you can link me too so I can check it out? If you’re just using it out of a backpack or using the GoPro seeker backpack, then you should be fine.
Superb video , very informative......just want to clarify , is the bar/tube mount made of metal ?
Thanks! The pro handlebar seatpost mount depicted in this video is made of metal… if you look online on gopro.com they sell a plastic handlebar seatpost mount, which is different
Hi and thanks …. I know I’ve been waiting for them to change the mount to metal as those bar / tube only mounts break quite easily which I’ve unfortunately discovered
@@steezeysteve747 I hear ya.. if your looking for the metal version only, try searching: “GoPro Metal Pro handlebar seatpost pole mount” on Google shopping.. it’s an older discontinued product
Is mount mounted to skateboard with suction?
This is mounted with 2x boom mounts and the adhesive mounts… the adhesives are more permanent and sticky than the suction cup.. the suction cup is only rated for smooth flat clean surfaces like glass
Is this okay to use in motorcycle ?
I would not recommend anything that protrudes from your helmet. I don't believe GoPro is legally allowed to recommend mounting it to your helmet because of the dangers. I'm sure it would make for some cool footage and a unique angle, but only you are responsible for your own safety.
this is so flimsy and a waste of cash
That’s a bummer to hear… Have you used it? How did you have it mounted? There was a bit of a learning curve for me. Happy to help if you need
Fake laughing is cringe af
Only for the clout 😅
This stick is crap. Too much vibrations, action cams are too heavy for this stick. Useless in Mptorcycles and waste of money.
There are specific mounting instructions for motorcycles specifically to only use one extension arm-length and the triangulation adapter. It’s also recommended to use hyper smooth stabilization feature on the GoPro. I’d be glad to check out your footage to help you achieve what you’re looking for. You’re also entitled to your opinion.
@@TG_Shreds it’s in general too weak . On the road maybe ok for sometime but off-road useless. For 100€ it’s a shame. I used it at vacation and disappointed. May GoPro in general gets outdated by the competitors.
