My son is 4, almost 5 and completely obsessed with Pokémon. Him and I open a couple packs every night at bedtime just as a little bit of fun. Today, on the very first pack he pulled of the new expansion, he got the two star Mew EX card. Never has the quiet at bedtime rule been broken so quickly by us both.
That's awesome cause it's the same. Thing here. My son is also 4 almost 5. He loves opening up packs in the game. I even got him a real pack to put in his stocking for 🎄 now
A couple small corrections on electabuzz. Its not random damage. You choose, just like zebstrika. If its the active pokemon, weakness applies. If its the bench, weakness doesn’t apply
Another small correction is that the new Ponyta card actually averages to 25 which is more than the original Ponyta. Ofc it’s more luck based but it’s still an improvement imo.
The terrifying part about the new Vaporeon is that you can use ti to keep looping the same three energy to whoever needs it, like if your first articuno gets sabrina'd and next turn you use vaporeon to bring that articuno active
9:09 The new Eevee is evil. I faced it in one of the new PvE decks. It did 9 heads in a row against me in one of my matches. The coin flip RNG is pure evil!
I was very relieved when I saw that I could still pull cards from the Genetic Apex decks (I'm still missing a few, mostly rares) I'd like to get 1 of each card except the full art trainer cards!
I just started testing out Celebi/Serperior and it does take a bit to set up. But also...400 damage to a poor Raichu... Then knocked out Mew EX in one turn too... My fire deck might have some competition for my favorite deck spot.
@@DanBlabbers Thanks for that idea! Kinda forgot about that card. I was just running Shiinotic and its ability to make your opponent go to sleep to stall. But Liligant definitely sounds like a much better idea.
I just run only Serperior and Celebi EX. I just use Erika and potions for early game healing if things aren’t going my way at first. Only real worry is Mewtwo EX if it gets set up first. Same for Charizard EX.
I’m being as transparent as glass here , when I saw the Celebi card , my first comment to it was , and I quote “Celebi is gonna be OP with ‘’’ *misty* ’’’”
Bruh, I hope you were joking about Mythical Slab, cuz that card is insane in one of the most meta decks out there. Finding your Ralts evolutions in Mewtwo EX is the whole point of the deck. 😂
@goldlemur8 I'm still unsure if it's worth extra card slots just to make sure the Slab hits. Kinda feel like it's good enough if it's just "sometimes, draw an important card", but I could totally be wrong there.
I feel like if you build your deck right it can be a win-win whether you get it or not. If you are running Psychic decks with many evolutions (Gardevoir, Alakazam, or even Beheeyem because that's a card now) then it's good to get those cards out right away. If you draw something that isn't a Psychic pokemon (like a trainer card,) then you probably didn't want it anyways, since you are looking for an evolution, which makes it a good thing that it's moved out of the way. Worst case scenario, you send a Professor Oak to the bottom of the deck, but that can be resurfaced through a pokeball or the new Chatot. I think they're trying to give each type a more unique character. Grass is setting up tanky pokemon with lots of energy to deal lots of damage and heal at the same time (which is why Serperior is busted), and psychic is meant to be knowledge and drawing a lot of cards. They added a psychic specialized Meowth, made Mew more accessible, and added Mythical Slab, all are meant to manipulate the deck and give you information to your benefit.
It takes an energy and has to be active, which is a huge cost. But it IS far better than red card. Just harder to get to use (though red card is a trap)
I kid you not my third pack in my first ten pack was the crown rare mew. Some friends of mine saw me open it live and I was SO HYPE! What a great set 😂🥳🙏
It’s been nice having new cards, me and my daughter have really enjoyed opening new packs together. The deck I was using in the most recent PVP event was a Zapdos only deck 😅. 2x Zapdos EX and 18 items and trainer cards. Disgustingly I have never lost with it.
I got a 3 star celibi on my first pack and was so excited to get it Edit: not talking about the comment but in the video, there are some cards i could take advantage of because I found a strat that most of the time, i get heads flipping the coin.
8:00 it actually averages out to 25 (average of 50 every two turns) making it slightly better on average than the base ponyta (which is a guaranteed 40 every two turns)
Just an fyi, if you're using an attack that can target either active or bench like Zebstrika, if it hits the active, then it'll do weakness. If it hits the bench, it'll ignore weakness
Saved up a little over 300 hour glasses. Got the Celebi immersive art on my second pack. Only opened 12 packs, but I'm half way to that emblem. About to open some more with my girlfriend, then the real cards come Christmas day 😊 got to open my first Japanese cards last night in about 25 years and got the Jolteon EX full art. My dog Eevee picked the pack with the pull.
3:47 You get to choose haha, I replace my Pincurchin for this Electabuzz in my Pikachu ex deck. 12:25 Beheeyem is literally the abbreviation of B.E.M (bug-eyed monster) and Egylem is L.G.M (little green monster)
I pulled the regular Mew ex card, both the Marshadow & alternate art Marshadow, alternate art Surperior, & a Gyarados ex with the rainbow edge card. To say I'm addicted would be an understatement. It's a full-on obsession now. Even got the gold pass just so I could open more packs! 🤩
Given that we got Blue and Leaf in this set, I bet they're saving Red for the A2a expansion (I'd guess themed around Mt. Silver, to expand on A2 that we assume is base Johto)
i love a deck that i run rn. it´s a split line with one new exeggutor and one exeggutor ex and i run it with serperior and one celebi. The exeggutor ex is a good starting tank and then the new exeggurtor is good anagiens celebi and mew-two
Yeah I feel forced to run Blaine at the moment. Should die down in a few days once people find all the counters. Pidgeot ex can be a good card against it but alas I’ve yet to pull one!
I pulled 2 crown mews in back to back days as a f2p player without saving pack hourglasses, just from my daily packs and the free hourglasses for 2 days.
Are you able to test all the different interactions of the Serperior ability? For example, a pokemon that would need 2 energy to retreat, would you be able to retreat using only 1 grass energy. If the opponent attacks you with psychic will your energy be counted as double for this too? ( Like alakazam does 30 damage for each energy attach to the opponent pokemon. If the opponent has 1 energy and a serperior on the bench. Will it still do only 30 more or will it do 60 more?
First time I came across the new Eevee card it hit me for 140 damage (6 heads), on its first turn. I lost before my second turn 😂 Used it twice myself so far and got tails first time both times 🤷♂️
8:15 Just wanna say 10 and 40 does not average out to 20, it averages out to 25 meaning the new ponyta does more damage on average. I would definitely prefer the new ponyta, 40 is a very meaningful chip and still being able to deal at least 10 on the whiff is very nice.
Bro I got on to use my pack points and I went ahead and did a "10 open". I only had enough to do 10 so I was over the moon to get my first crown as the MEW EX. I was livid

Getting to the age for his first game boy colour pokemon experience ☺️
That's adorable
That’s awesome🎉 My little brother got me to play, yesterday I Pulled Interactive Celebi ex from my very first pack!! I was screaming
Fun fact. Austin made it 2 seconds before misspeaking in this video. or maybe he did it so people have a comment to leave? we'll never know
HUZZAH!
8:14 it’s actually 25 average, so a little higher!
No he said mythical jungle instead of mythical island
PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS ON POCKET! WE MISS YOU! literally strategy/deck videos ANYYYTHIIIING!

A couple small corrections on electabuzz. Its not random damage. You choose, just like zebstrika. If its the active pokemon, weakness applies. If its the bench, weakness doesn’t apply
Lumineon has 0 retreat deals 50 damage but only hits bench. I like the bench pressure in these cards.
@ they’re really laying into pokeflute

Just came to say the same thing!

I pulled two immersive Celebi ex’s in a single 10-pack opening, and I’ve gotta say, this Celebi/Serperior deck is putting in some WORK
Yeah that deck is nuts. Have to run Blaine now cause everyone is using it lol
It's bad, they need to cap the amount of coin flips or reduce damage or lower it HP. It's making the game boring.
9:09 The new Eevee is evil. I faced it in one of the new PvE decks. It did 9 heads in a row against me in one of my matches. The coin flip RNG is pure evil!
That’s like a .19% chance
@@TheMobiusTrap i rolled 13 heads yesterday and honestly its kind of sercet tech now. + flareon being able to 1 shot Celebi
6:35 did bro forget about the mewtwo deck
Better to use pokeball for basic Pokemon
@0ratratA Pokeball doesn't help get Gardevoir on the field. That's the point op was making.
@@ClockworkEn then that wouldn’t make sense for op to say “forgot” abt the deck. Bc Austin said that that item card would be useful for evolutions.
@@0ratratA Ya but he only say Alakazam, he didn't mention Gardevoir but it's okay.
But if you need a Sabrina or oak it’s gone for the game

@@DanBlabbers Thanks for that idea! Kinda forgot about that card. I was just running Shiinotic and its ability to make your opponent go to sleep to stall. But Liligant definitely sounds like a much better idea.
It’s about as fast as Mewtwo Ex, but more potential damage.
I just run only Serperior and Celebi EX. I just use Erika and potions for early game healing if things aren’t going my way at first. Only real worry is Mewtwo EX if it gets set up first. Same for Charizard EX.

I can’t wait to try a Serperior Celebi deck with Liligant
I need Mew more than anything ever
Have you seen the blue one
I got the gold mew on my third pack! Although I never managed a crown rarity in genetic apex, so maybe it balances out...
So far the most broken new meta deck is Celebi EX with Serperior. Serperior’s ability doubles Celebi’s coin flips for its attacks it’s insane!
i got the imersive celebi card and a god pack from the charizard set … pretty fun
Marshadow is really difficult to play around. I can't wait to include it in my deck.
