sorry to colin firth, but matthew macfadyen IS mr darcy. his acting with his eyes and body language is so nuanced * chef's kiss * and keira ofc is always incandescent in every role ✨
If there is a battle between Colin Firth and Macfadyen on staring contest, then Colin Firth is the winner. 😂 Either way, both are Mr. Darcy in their own unique ways. ❤️
One of my favorite scenes which I rarely hear anyone mention . . . . . Mr. Bingley giggling at Lizzie . . . . . . "a fearsome thing to behold!" Of course, the PIVOTAL scene in the movie for Lizzie, I believe. I love the shocked look on her face as she looks back at Mr. Darcy. I think there is a change in her heart which causes her to pause, then soften, then . . . .
from all his films, I like Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. I really appreciate the director of this film in directing the body language, the eyes of Mr Darcy as portrayed by Jane Austen. Mr Darcy is one of my favourite character, as played by Matthew Macfadyen and Elizabeth by Kiera Knightley (2005)
I was reading through the comments for the longest time but had failed to encounter one that greatly complemented the choice of music/songs used in this movie. So let me be the first. Such great songs that matched perfectly with each scene where they were played. Made me fall deeper in love with this movie that I just could not get tired of watching..., and sometimes just listening to it with my eyes closed. Has anyone felt and done the same?
@@barbaradigman2228 it's right before he proposes to her on the rain. It's in the church that his friend tells her that Darcy was the one that separated her sister and the man she loved.
Something else I like about the church scene is that it displays her cousin's ineptitude at preaching. The letter where Mr. Collins tells Mr.Bennet to forgive Lydia as a Christian but not as a daughter shows his lack of true understanding of the faith. (Christians are called to forgive as many times as is necessary) The church scene demonstrates this further.
