Brings back some memories of my years at boarding school in my country of birth, South Africa where I played in the school cadet band. A little military discipline and learning to march to music did not hurt me and I believe ALL kids should learn the same as it has more advantages than disadvantages. To those here that are bitching and moaning and groaning ans especially the so-called ex military, please get off your high horses or maybe you fell off yours and hit your head. Before criticising these children, yes they are only children, and expecting them to perform as elite soldiers say more about you than them. I watch loads of military events and even among the adult soldiers there are sloppy examples that have difficulty keeping time and even "dance/bounce" in an attempt to march. These children did an outstanding performance and should be applauded.

I went to school in Pretoria and enjoyed the straw hats, summer and winter uniforms and the chance to shoot Lee Enfield .202s and of course the many sports available.

As a retired Scottish CCF Contingent Commander, I enjoyed this video. In our CCF Inspections we never attempted march pasts. I think you need a band, like you do, to keep everyone in step. Your pipe band is superb and faultless. Perhaps you need a supply of glengarrys (hats) which will improve the overall uniformity greatly although I notice that your London parade in January, 2022 everyone was wearing appropriate head dress.

Yeah, the fact saluting the colours command @ 7:16 was nearly audible, together with the length of the kilts and that they hardly lift their legs and bring their feet down for a firm coming to attention all as well as the lack of head gear all add up to a parade cobbled together from scratch nearly a week pervious!!!

No doubt Ill be corrected but the Colour parties kilts were more of a skirt length. Traditionally the kilt ends at the knee or just above apart from that I enjoyed watching it.

Very nice video. This seems to be a semi military boarding school in Scotland. The bare headed swagger sticks got me a bit confused at first. But i reckon they are not house bound but age bound. You need progress to earn the cap(?). All in all great composure and marching, and the band really got the swaager of the bag pipe march. And i am from Sweden so had never heard of this school uuntil i got it on the right hand side suggestion.

This school is a state boarding school with military backgrounds, and we actually do have the funding for uniforms however people in previous times stole all of the glengarries and there was not enough time to fulfil an order in time for this parade, the most recent parade however all uniforms were equipped to their highest possible standard

The drill is absolutely dreadful. Pipes and Drums are NOT in step.
    Playing seems OK though.
If you are going to wear military headgear, be it a beret, bonnet, glengarrie, Tam O’ Shanter or whatever, hair should either be short or “tied up.”
I know that these people are not regular or even reserve troops, but a few weeks under the tender ministrations of a Household Division Sergeant Major or Drill Sergeant would work wonders.

@@trollmeistergeneral3467 as a member of this school, particularly a member of the pipes and drums, I will not choose to accept the statements you have to make upon our school, we are not any form of troop in the military, bar maybe a few who have elected to embark upon that path, but I would like to point out that as an ex-member of military, or so you claim, there are many 11/12 year olds partaking in this parade, all of whom have less than 1 months practice marching and some had never marched in ranks before. So before you claim that your the best marcher in the UK, we only have 1 hour a week to put this parade in place, and in this instance only had 2/3 weeks, therefore 3 hours is the maximum amount of time we were able to practice for this particular parade and in that time with 7/800 children I would very much like to see you do better
