Matthew 25:14-30
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

People forget that they call Jesus "Christ the Lord" for a reason. He is our *king,* and as our king, he gives us tasks and duties. To some are given a talent for making money; it is his duty to use that talent in Christ's name. To others are given a talent for speech; it is their duty to use that talent in Christ's name as well. Being Christian is so much more than having faith in the Lord. It's more than proclaiming him as our king. Once we do *that,* it's time to get down to the business of building the Kingdom of God here on Earth, and preparing for his ever-imminent arrival. That's what this parable is about: once you admit that he's king, become his dutiful subject, and don't simply wait for him to come save you.
But we do wait for him to come and save us. I know what you mean though. We have to wait actively, working hard until he comes back for us.

Mormon? Do you not know that all who believe and obey the Word and Will of God shall inherit eternal life? So you too should follow the Bible in all its’ teachings. Many blaspheme, saying, “The Bible was not written by God, it was written by man”. But the Holy Spirit inspired them, that they may perform His perfect work in His word.
In all things in scripture, follow them. If you choose Christ, follow everything in scripture, not just a few things, for God delights in an obedient child. In all things, follow God. See to it that you do not base your beliefs from how you feel. Do not use your emotions to justify your sin. But know the truth, claim the truth, obey the truth, which is Gods word, and it shall set you free. Amen.

And those who are in the front line can copy the dance very easy, while those dancing in the last row have problems to see the choreography. And so they start their own choreography. Even those who fell apart and are very low. Even they somehow remember some sort of dance, but they have perverted it. Be careful that if you dance not to pervert the dance. There is only one church of Christ. All churches of brick and mortar are corrupt for Christ’s church is not brick and mortar. Only true Christian Israelites know they together are the church.

Forgive me Lord, I may not bring very many talents with what I have been given. Not many people listen to me or care of what I say. But, give me strength for I would rather fail you trying than not try at all. Thanks for your blessings Holy Father and my Lord. Please forgive me my many, many sins and failures. Amen.

This parable fits with James 2: vs 17-18 Where it speaks of showing faith by my works. The parable has to do with faith, not works. You can't get salvation by works. The one with a single talent was cast into outer darkness. If the parable was about using God's gifts then he would not have been cast out because he didn't use God's talent to his gain.

Brother, do not worry if people do not take notice of what you say. It is clear you have humility and that is the most important thing in life. We we're already forgiven by God's UNCONDITIONAL love for mankind before there was any sin to be forgiven in the first place.

There was a place in my good book, that says to empty my house and place out, and go to another home, and bless the home, eat what is offered and if they treat me well I'm to be good to them, also do it only a little bit, not house to house, and if they do not treat me well I'm to kick the dust off and keep moving. I like this idea... I wonder if there's many people who explain why they are choice homeless, I heard a man once say he tried this on welfare... they denied his welfare once they found out.

In my point of view, talents are the word of God. We need to be fruitful in it, doing charity, being patient, sharing the gospel, following the 10 commandments... Those are fruits of the spirit. Works are filthy clothes, but the fruit of our hearts is what God wants. Be humble, love one another, live chastity, love your lord.
I hope you are right because I don't have the ability to increase earthly money...

The whole gospel is about how to live a humble life, which means that It's about not having and owning things including work.
The gospel is about how we are all sinners and have broken Gods law and deserving of death but God sent his son to die for oir sins on the cross so we be made righteous and all sinless before God
You surface read scripture. You refuse to dig deeper, because of how you feel towards it. You base your beliefs from how you feel, not the truth. Furthermore, the truth is not subject to ones beliefs, nor is it subject to how you feel. How, then can you understand? You cannot understand. For your heart has been made barren.
There are a few things I’d like to address here. The first one is your assertion of a general, stereotypical rule of what you think the Bible is. The entire book has many pieces of info, including proper healthcare, how to manage finances, ones relationship in marriage, ones personal lifestyles, and how to maintain a healthy emotional state.
Secondly, I’d like to address your accusations against the Holy Word of God, expressing that you think you are not allowed to have anything that delights you. This is simply not true.
As a loving Father, God wants His children to be happy. He knows that you have a job, and He knows that you have a life. He also knows that you want some form of entertainment.
And the Lord will give it to you. But what this video implies is, is that you should get rid of the things that keep you from growing in your relationship with God. This includes playboy magazines, video games that promote murder and invoke a sensual desire for fighting, music that promotes blasphemy, (etc).
Thirdly, I’d like to address the issue that you’d assume that one should be lower than everyone else, in order to please God. While it is true that the Lord promotes humility, it doesn’t mean that He wants you to let yourself get ran over by everyone, and taken advantage of.
So, your indiscriminate generalization of how people should live their lives, according to what the Word of God implies is redundant.
Stop surface reading scripture. You have to dig deep and find the true meaning, and really pray for clarity. Otherwise, you won’t know the full message of what God conveys through His Word.
meaning the talents duty is to gain more souls by spreading the Word of our Lord Jesus Christ.. More souls to be added in the Kingdom of God in heaven.. We have to preach the Word of God with our families, relatives, friends, and acquaintances and to obey God's commandments and He will judged us accordingly at the last day.. the Gospel of God is for us to obey Acts 2:38Repent from our sins and be baptized in His name.. (in the name of Jesus Christ) and we will received the gift of the Holy Spirit(this is the assignment He gave to Peter and Peter gain more souls. not just Peter but also the other Apostles and also St. Paul) read the new testament.so we have to spread His Word (the Word of God) and we will gain more souls to be added in His Kingdom. If we know His Word we should spread it so that more souls will be saved in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And we can do this through music, through art, through poetry, through friendship and love, which lead to the building up of our brother and sister souls into happy places for the lords spirit to dwell. "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwells within you?". To love our neighbour, is to love the spirit of God that dwells within them and gives us all life. To share ourselves with others is to give them life and to labour in his vineyard of souls :)

The Savior used the phrase, "Well done thou good and faithful servant" to the servants that increased their talents. Done means you have done something. You have acted. You have served or worked. You have provided increase to society. You have given of your time and talents to build and uplift others. In so doing, you have literally served the Savior himself. The Savior then uses the word, "Slothful" to the servant who his his talent. Slothful means you didn't work or provide any service. You didn't help, serve or provide any increase. What's interesting to point out is Christ referred to the person that his his talent in the earth as his servant. Christ provided him the talent and means to serve him. Instead he buried or rejected his talent and in the end he chose not to be Christ's friend/servant and was cast out.

Talent is a form of money not a physical talent.
Talent in the parable is a sum of money to be invested and produce for the master. In application it could be what ever we have: money, land, manpower, even skill, or what we call talent, an ability, a gift. It is not all about money, even some people are focused entirely on that.
Hayley Weston, so good are your comments. I always noticed in this parable that this servant did not trust his master. He actually tells him right to his face that he thinks the master is unjust and harsh. Even if you think that about a person you would not say that like so. This servant is actually rebellious against his master. He is saying: I had to be afraid you would punish me, if I failed to make you some money, so I rather just refused to do anything with it. He is accusing the master. It shows his true heart.

The Parable of the Talents has a powerful message to us all. Jesus Christ is our older brother and without Him we would not have the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father. "BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN GIVEN MUCH I TOO MUST GIVE…." very strong words to live by.

Margaret McCoy, I agree with you and I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ if Latter-day saints. In John 6:40: And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day". Just believing in Christ and his grace he provides through the atonement provides the "bread of life" or everlasting life. You are absolutely right. The Savior himself gives us a reward for simply believing. Rewards are a good thing. If we believe in Jesus Christ we will receive the reward of everlasting life. Just like with our own children here on earth, we provide them with gifts because we love them and on top of gifts we also provide them with gifts/rewards for good behavior. Adding to the gift that we receive of everlasting life through the grace of Christ we also can receive further knowledge/talents/rewards/increase. It doesn't stop with just everlasting life. Their is a difference between believing in Christ and loving Christ. Both are good. There are not levels to believing in Christ. You either believe in him or you don't. Loving Christ is different. Love is a verb. It is something you have to sacrifice and work for. You cant just profess to love someone without showing them that you love them. Christ's answer to the apostle after he professed to love the Savior was this: If ye love me, feed my Sheep. The Savior not only wants us to profess our love for him but he wants us to show our love for him by serving his sheep (others). The servants who invested, served, worked, sacrificed (in essence, loved the Savior by feeding his sheep received a reward). The servant that hid/rejected/didnt use the one talent/gift (the one gift given to every man freely through the grace of Christ-Everlasting Life) was sent to hell with wailing and nashing of teeth. God gives us gifts/talents according to the desires or our hearts. When we are given gifts/talents we choose to use them to serve Christ's sheep and by so doing will receive a two-fold reward. If we dont use them, work and serve others they, "will be taken, even that which he hath". Sometimes we love/serve others even when we don't have the best intentions (I.e. to gain a reward or get the praise of men or when we don't feel like it and just do it out of duty). All of us out of human weakness are guilty of one of these examples. However, we don't know the intentions of someone's heart. Only God knows that. One thing we do know, the more we feel God's love for us the more we desire to share that love by serving others; and the more we serve/love and share whatever our human weakness/intentions may be, the more we know and feel of God's love for us and our fellow men. We can receive more knowledge/talents/spiritual gifts, "line upon line, precept upon precept" until the perfect day where we will receive, "All that the Father has" which is everlasting life and eternal life (live forever and live with our heavenly father and receive all of his knowledge/talents/gifts) and eventually fill the commandment, "Be he therefore perfect even as your Father in Heaven who is perfect". In the process of serving the Savior we come to "know" and "love" him and find that there is a Father in Heaven. Christ is literally God's only begotten son. "If ye had known me, ye should have known my father", " all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known", "because they knew not him that sent me". When we know the Savior and love him we become one with the Savior and " joint-heirs" with Christ", "one fold, and one shepherd", " that they may be one as we are", "that they also may be one in us", "Be ye therefore doers of the word and not hearers only", " If ye love me, keep my commandments". "If he had known me, he should have known my Father", "Depart, I never knew you, ye that work iniquity" "bring forth therefore fruit meet for repentance (don't just profess to repent, show me), "by their fruits (good works), ye shall know them", " tree that not bringeth forth not good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire", "good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit", " fruit of the spirit is love" (love is a verb),

The word 'talent' in the original Greek is not human abilities. It's true meaning is a weight of money. 1 talent = about 15 years' wages of a laborer. Money is something that when is invested can increase and grow. Do you really think that Jesus is going to throw someone out in to eternal darkness if they aren't using their talents? I believe Jesus was talking about our knowledge of Him. As we seek to truly know him, not what some religious organization has taught us, but Who He really is, then we will grown in our faith, and as a result of faith in Him (not in ourselves) then we naturally bear fruit. If we bury our knowledge of Him, then darkness represents a world without God in it.

He is the ONE and ONLY true God.
The Lord Jesus, who is the divine Spirit that took on the appearance of a man, created the Christ (the perfect loving mind).
And all of creation will receive this mind, this consciousness (soul).
(Sanctification).
All in their own order, no exceptions.
All will be justified in attitude (spirit), sanctified in the mind (consciousness, soul) and glorified in strength (body).
All will receive a clear understanding of how to treat another as how we would like to be treated.
All will be saved, all will receive a perfect image.
NOTICE: Image = *a body with a spirit FORM a soul.*
Because we are subject to fear we corrupt our thinking, our soul, our consciousness.
Because of fear we create an egocentric mind (soul).
This egocentric mind does not understand how to treat another as how you would like to be treated, and thereby we become enemies in our own mind towards God.
We fall in "sin", if you will.
And He will treat our mortally wound and will bring us back towards His understanding of love through the concept He created called The Christ.
The Christ: a mind (consciousness) that perfectly understands how to love one another.
Only God who is The Divine Spirit can create such mind.

I think this Parable means that God showed his wonders in us, we have to proclaim it to others and we should not hide in ourselves . If we are shy to speak to others we can use the social media platforms to speak about gospel. So that when he returns he will see some fruitful results.
