Hey, what’s up brother I found your channel 2 or three weeks ago, and I’ve been been binge watching your videos ever since! You really opened my eyes to a lot of things man… And this is coming from someone that worked at multiple retail locations and owned my own brick and mortar store for six or seven years… I mainly specialized in doing large builds and custom fabrication..leds, fiberglass, Pods, pillars, doors and custom enclosures, etc. I barely sold product but once in a while I would ! it got to the point where it needed to be very convenient and necessary for me to complete my job or else I wouldn’t even bother… This was right when Amazon started matching everyone’s costs, well damn close anyways who the hell wants to make five dollars off a $300 item lol but either way you’re the man and you don’t get 100th of the credit that you deserve just wanted to make sure that you knew that shit!!! What you’re doing is an absolute necessity in this crooked ass industry that we are in, and love(most of the time anyways… Just so many douche bags… too many. People pushing false information and retailers lying to customers just to make a sale…fockkk. Get rid of the douche bags and the industry would damn near clean itself up!! LMFAO) I kept wanting to leave it, and I’ve been up damn near all night finishing this enclosure, and decided now was the time to make sure that I didn’t forget with my old ass again, just in case no one else has let you know lately! 💯💯💯😎😎😎

I used to import that cone but the factory went out of business. I have to track down what place has the tooling. Obsidian Audio used to use something similar.

Do you have any 10s that handle say like 600w or so good for HT use? NVX has their VC 10s that are 6 or 800w rms, fs is 29hz and 22mm xmax. I know it really isnt a HT sub but really for $109 each you cant beat it. Im kinda limited to 10s cause box is going behind my couch so box like 12" tall, about 12" deep, width like 74", anyways i can get a little over 5 cubes net tuned in low 20s with 2 4" or a 6" port just throwing #s around in my head. Oh probably a cheap 1000w or so car amp powered by a 12v computer power supply. Then probably a 4 pack of the dayton pucks powered by a plate amp from an old ht sub like 50w or whatever. Anyways the NVX just seem like a sweet deal as the 10s are $109 but go to a 12 and its $189
@greenbassboosts8872 eh, you are thinking car sub, which yea I would shoot for a 3.5 cube box and some mid 30s tuning for a more boomy box, but this is a HT sub, just gonna play whatever is on the tv, that my gf selects. 99% not music, just want the box to be really flat with some low end extension. I will have plenty of power, that I won't need or use. Really a couple hundred watts in your living room will make shit fall of the walls. Port area should be plenty fine. Seems like nowadays everyone recommends insane port area that you just don't need. That kinda started in the early 2000s when slot ports became popular, Round ports were breaking windshields since the 90s and Strokers in big boxes with round cardboard port tubes in auditoriums were shaking the sidewalks outside since the 80s. They didnt need much port area, a 4" per 15" woofer was kinda commin. I bet I would be ok with a single 3" in the box and nobody would know or tell the difference. Probably at most there may be 2-300w being pulled from the amplifier to reach the output I need.
@@josmith213 ah yeah a couple 4" would be good enough for 2-300w. I hope you simulate the design in HornResp because winisd simulated output is nonsense lol.
@greenbassboosts8872 I use bassboxpro, but really this is such a low power sub enclosure, few hundred watts, couple 10s, etc I probably won't even put T/S parameters into it. Just gonna play flat, add a little boom when I watch war movies, and the low end ass shaking will be from some dayton tactile transducers that I shove in the couch somewhere. I'll just figure port length with the psp calculator, probably the single 6", ill just adjust the box a few tenths here or there so I can use the 18" or whatever length, just too lazy to cut it, and then if I need to reuse it I'll have a full uncut aeroport!

I'd just go with the NVX subs. That's a really good deal.
I think you'll need more port area, plus it sounds like you're making your enclosure quite over size if you want to put two 10" In 5 cu. Ft.
