I needed your message at the end of this video today; really spoke to me. Recently found your site via Captain Matt's site. I must say you both just seem like such good, down-to-earth people. Very heart warming watching your video.

Yes wetter beds are great for breeding. You may want to add some drier material till after the freeze then rewet... sounds like all is going well! Its all a balancing act to keep it all going.

Please provide a link to or the brand name of the black fabric bins with the white pvc support frames.
The ones you indicated were slightly smaller than 2 × 4 ft.
    Thnx in advance.

My bins in the basement are running around 55 to 60F. The bins with more moisture are producing more cocoons, than the drier bins. We are going to drop below zero here for at least the next 5 days, sure the basement temp will drop as well.
I usually keep my worms on the dry side when I bring them in for the winter. Seeing how I am keeping them in the basement this year, I have no problem keeping them a lot wetter than normal for me.
Was thinking of getting another heat matt with a thermostat for one of the bins, decided against it, have plenty of worms and castings.
Went through my bins this morning, had some luffa gourds I placed below the main feeding, loaded with worms and cocoons. I think the worms use the luffa to shed the cocoons, like a snake uses a rock to shed its skin.
Quite the operation you have there, how do you keep it all straight?
    Stay Well!!!

My breeder bins have been loaded with cocoons. My bulk bins probably need to be split and I haven’t seen as many cocoons, maybe due to population size. The bedding has been running in the 50 degree range.
