Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (also known as World Soccer: Winning Eleven 10 for PS2, World Soccer: Winning Eleven 10 Ubiquitous Edition for PSP, World Soccer: Winning Eleven DS for DS and World Soccer: Winning Eleven X for Xbox 360 in Japan and South Korea, and Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 in the United States) is a video game developed and published by Konami. Released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows platforms and following on the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable afterward, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is the 6th edition of the Pro Evolution Soccer series for the PlayStation 2, 2nd for the PlayStation Portable and 4th for Microsoft Windows. It is the first game to debut on the Nintendo DS and the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version features improved graphics, but retains gameplay similar to the other console versions. The edit mode has been stripped down for the Xbox 360 release, due to time restrictions. The graphics engine on the PC does not utilise the next-gen 360 engine but will again be a direct conversion of the PlayStation 2 engine.
As with previous versions, the game features an edit mode allowing the player to edit certain elements of the game. It was the last release to feature the German Bundesliga (in the game as German League) for Winning Eleven Installment before it was replaced by a generic league because of losing the license for the following releases from Winning Eleven 2008 Onwards.
A Bundesliga license was supposed to be a feature of the game for Pro Evolution Soccer Installment but Konami were forced to remove the teams, which means the Bundesliga is not present in PES6, not even as a series of unlicensed teams, with the exception of FC Bayern Munich who were fully licensed with the omission of their shirt sponsor T-Home. From then on, no further games featured the Bundesliga, with the participation of German teams restricted to a few of its teams appearing in separate blocks (like the UEFA Champions League teams without their own league). It is also the last Pro Evolution Soccer game to use a sequel number, being replaced with the year featuring in the title from then on. PES 6 was succeeded by Pro Evolution Soccer 2008.

PES 6 on PS2 had an very nice graphic, the PC version used PS2 conversion instead of new-gen graphics that used used for XBOX 360, in an similar vain to FIFA 07, which also released their next-gen graphics to X360. No matter how FIFA adopted 06 year digit tiles, i am suprised at how PES never adopted year moniker from PES 5 through 6 until PES 2008, when they decided to adopt year moniker to compete better at EA Sports FIFA. Even when PES 2008 upgrade their next-gen graphics to PC, there's no dobut that EA Games we're far behind in terms of implementing their next-gen graphics to FIFA 08 and instead use old-gen graphics from PS2 for PC.

At the cost of not having a PS2 version. The reason why the PSP version was close to the PS2, is NOT because the PSP was so powerful, but because the PS2 version never improved. PS2 could do a lot better than that, but they chose instead to develop 2 games (the PS2 and PSP version), they just develop 1 version that can be easily ported to PSP.

Even better than the pc version, pes 6 on ps2 is much more superior in terms of quality, even the gameplay feels better on the ps2 in my opinion.
