It's mainly when you have several extra copies that you see a difference. If a new pilgrim banner comes up (Usually Nov, Jan and May) consider using the gold ticket then. Scarlet is a good option for another great DPS unit. I would only use on Pilgrim/OverSpec and unless you have many gold tickets just get 1 copy. Obviously if happy to spend lots of money then that might change the above advice. I usually get 3 copies of any broken DPS but I've been playing since launch and spend a little.
Rapi will be added to the common pool so always a chance of pulling extra copies in the regular summon or any of the pilgrims but rate is lower than other units.
Good stuff, I am a new player and was searching for a comparison like this since the banners got announced. I am F2P and sadly I couldn´t pull Rapi and got pretty stuck at 160 cap without gems and meta team at the same time. So I decided to make an alt just to have some fun with the banner while I was inevitably stuck on my main. Turned out I got Rapi on first 10 pull and Scarlet on second 10 Pull there and Crown and Grave followed on Standard banner pretty soon. After 3 days I already had more Nikke than on my main, so I guess I have a new main now. Gacha Luck can be weird man. And with the newest meta Nikke progression feels completely different, it´s really interesting how Scarlet carried hard on lower def stages but falls off in those high deficit stages while Rapi outperforms more and more.
honestly if you are new just pull both of them (either by gacha or gold ticket) because both of them going to help you so much on the campaign and progressing. And more progression = more gems so it's kind of pay off in the end. But if you doesn't have the resource and can only pull one? i will say Rapi. Sbs can be wishlisted in the normal gacha, and while rapi would eventually be added there as well we still don't know when.
to add my reasoning to prioritize rapi is while SBS is the better campaign character, rapi had that double thing going for her. Double element, double burst, and the most important for new player : double tower. She can be used for both pilgrim and elysion tower and that is a very valuable resource of gems.

@themaximummaximus5784 so SBS (Scarlet Black Shadow) goes really nicely with Alice (you'll get her one point or another either through bonus recruit on the standard banner or the Alice diaries event that pops up when you get to chapter 11 (it could also be at the end of 11 but pretty sure its the start) in the story) as it sits a workable team would be (Rouge has to be in slot 2 or 4) Rapi:RH/Rouge/SBS/Dolla/Alice. Units that'll leave this team eventually would be Dolla and Rouge (Dolla because there are better b2s out there and Rouge is more for Cinderella/electric teams but in no means bad) so for optimal team it'd just end up being a variant of the meta team Crown/Liter(could also use Rapi:RH)/b3/b3/Naga your b3 slots could be Rapi:RH/SBS (endgame the b3 slots are generally just who do I have setup that is best for this encounter general suspects include Rapi:RH, SBS, Alice, RH, Modernia, Cinderella, OG Scarlet not pilgrim ones such as Ein, Quency: Escape Queen, Laplace(with favorite item))
Funny thing I pulled a Scarlet Black Shadow while watching this video. Been trying to pull Rapi Red hood for the past week to the point that I got the golden tickets ready from having 0 at the start. Then I just decided to pull once on Scarlet due to the title of the video then BAM! Scarlet on second 10 draw.
SBS has high dmg but in practice in some campain or tower levels seem to do little. Its because the distributed is spread across to many. I would call her single target dps like rapi/ein/cinderella/redhood
Last night I was so scared to pull because I,m f2p and very limited on gems and pulls and everything else but I got rapi red hood, scarlet black shadow, red hood, and Cinderella LMAO

Only nitpick i have with this is that the 'oh just use crown and red hood with them' team is very unlikely to be helpful for people who do not have SBS. People who started after Crown's banner have essentially zero guides or advice targeted for them.
I've had the worst luck in Nikke pulling for Rapi RH, I spent 150 pulls and only got 2x SSR (a dup of Scarlet BS and Phantom) but no Rapi RH. Ended up just having to resort to using 200 pity tickets.
threw just one multi at Scarlet and got her to core 1! Think I will hold off on Rapi for now and hope I get her off a Pilgrim mold or wishlist spook. I know she's strong but I finally obtained my first copy of Ein through the selector (bought her skin too, might as well) so she's my new priority to get online.
Having done my own set of damage tests, the following are my observation for Rapi: Red Hood as B1 buffer: 1. At low investment levels, Liter beats Rapi slightly even when Rapi is in her element due to cover heal. The DPS of both teams are about the same. 2. At mid investment levels, Rapi's team starts to outshine Liter's team. Her insane DPS with OL gears makes up for the lack of cover heal. I can only imagine the differences getting bigger as you put more investment into Rapi due to how much more she gets from OL gears. I'm sure that at some point, Rapi takes over Liter completely as a B1 slot, even when she does not have the element advantage.
i got one of each and the funny thing about scarlet is i think i pulled her during the ice dragon saga from standard recruit or the standard gold mold items cant recall which not too long after i started back in december

1 thing I don't know yet, how important is core 7? If I have a character at 0☆, how much stronger would she be at 3☆ and how much stronger would she be at core 7?
So excluding bond level bonuses (I have no idea how much they factor in) each dupe is ~2% increase in stats so if have someone with just the character and someone with core 7 (10 dupes 11 copies total) the core 7 Rapi will be ~20% stronger
I say get 1 copy of both and pity preferably because 1% is no joke.... Also next month we're getting the collab already which will have a new Rei and Asuka which will only ever be available then and never come back.
Man I wish i could pull Crown, missing her is really holding me back. Has Crown's re-run happened yet? If it hasn't, is it better to wait for that than pull for SBS? I already pulled Rapi so I dont need to worry about her.

@ although crown is “king” of B2 she doesn’t absolutely have to be duped; she amazing with just one copy; I feel April is plenty of time to resupply for pity; SBS is a meta B3 killer that shouldn’t be skipped; the key thing is getting base copy and letting the wishlist handle the dupe cards if you’re F2P

No. F2P is best stick to 1 base copy. Just because content creators pull multiple copies, it doesn't mean you should. Save your mileage for the next limited units, or the next pilgrim/overspec units because 1% rate is harder to get. There is a wishlist banner if you want dupes.

You can but it's not worth it. Save the gold tickets for future Pilgrim/Overspec. Ideally you would save the mileage tickets for 1% rate up banner like Pilgrims and Overspec. But if you really need to 3 stars to break 160 wall, then perhaps you should do it. Still don't recommend though, because you can wishlist her in later.
Is it easier to get Rapi Red Hood in normal banner in wishlist compared to Scarlet Black Shadow since shes a pilgrim they are generally harder to get right?. Or am i wrong? srry just got back playing after a 1 month break from the game so i missed quite a lot of things
I'm level 200+ and never used my Scarlet. I already have teams formed for other content. But, I am slowly building her up cause I know I'd need her for Kraken. There's no other choice for DPSer there. I'd say get a copy just for wind-weak content. It's hard to imagine her being power creeped in that area any time soon.

WTF? It is actually the opposite, SBS falls off when there are too many enemies on the map because she does distributed dmg, while Rapi does full dmg to all enemies. The real reason to pull for SBS over Rapi is that she is the only good wind dps that isnt limited and even if you include Summer Sakura, you have to consider that Sakura is only good against bosses with parts. Regardless of this you should pull for Rapi, because wind dmg is so niche that it doesnt make sense to pull her over Rapi and if you are at the point at which you bother with farming Kraken you are past the point at which you need to pick either or anyway. Also we already know that Asuka will get a rerun next month during the 2nd part of the EVA collab.
Burst 1 rrh or burst 3 rrh? Burst 3 all the way to the point that she gives more attack buff for herself for dps. Although her burst 1 gives all attack buff but its lower percentage and no survivability. So, liter is still the best b1 til now and it gives attack buff more to rrh on her burst 3 position
100% depends on what you need. Ever since RapiRH came in I jumped from chapter 28 allthe way through 33 last boss mirror container; why? Her at B1 herself pumps out WAY more raw damage than liter herself. Also the atk buff is not too far off from Liter. The calculation atk buff is entirely different between the two. Depending on how well you build up your RAPI RH the difference between the two isn’t much. The only time liter > rapiRH is when you’re fighting a boss that REQUIRES sustainability and has mechanics that require covering which is less than a hand full. (ie: boss momma Nilly); other than that campaign is all about dmg and kill asap which is what RapiRH provides over liter. If you have a roster of meta B3 killers already RapiRH is the call for B1 90% of the time
Imo, get at least one copy of Rapi right now. SBS is in the wishlist so you can get her there, other than her banner. So that way you kind of save your advance tickets if you are lucky.

Over spec is considered a pilgrim like unit so her and future over spec units will be with the pilgrims on the wishlist

WTF? It is actually the opposite, SBS falls off when there are too many enemies on the map because she does distributed dmg, while Rapi does full dmg to all enemies. The real reason to pull for SBS over Rapi is that she is the only good wind dps that isnt limited and even if you include Summer Sakura, you have to consider that Sakura is only good against bosses with parts.
Regardless of this you should pull for Rapi, because wind dmg is so niche that it doesnt make sense to pull her over Rapi and if you are at the point at which you bother with farming Kraken you are past the point at which you need to pick either or anyway.
Also we already know that Asuka will get a rerun next month during the 2nd part of the EVA collab.

Burst 1 rrh or burst 3 rrh? Burst 3 all the way to the point that she gives more attack buff for herself for dps. Although her burst 1 gives all attack buff but its lower percentage and no survivability. So, liter is still the best b1 til now and it gives attack buff more to rrh on her burst 3 position
100% depends on what you need. Ever since RapiRH came in I jumped from chapter 28 allthe way through 33 last boss mirror container; why? Her at B1 herself pumps out WAY more raw damage than liter herself. Also the atk buff is not too far off from Liter. The calculation atk buff is entirely different between the two. Depending on how well you build up your RAPI RH the difference between the two isn’t much. The only time liter > rapiRH is when you’re fighting a boss that REQUIRES sustainability and has mechanics that require covering which is less than a hand full. (ie: boss momma Nilly); other than that campaign is all about dmg and kill asap which is what RapiRH provides over liter. If you have a roster of meta B3 killers already RapiRH is the call for B1 90% of the time
Imo, get at least one copy of Rapi right now. SBS is in the wishlist so you can get her there, other than her banner. So that way you kind of save your advance tickets if you are lucky.
