Great tip Lee! I do use this feature. Very handy for INAV flight modes and such.
Pro tip: The characters \up and \dn will display an actual arrow for up and down respectively!

"Best of luck" in the text file... 🤣
There's only skill and preparation here... 😂
Thank you for the tip and the laugh. Cheers.

What a Great tip! Another fine example of the power/versatility of Open/Edge TX, so much to learn so little time, your videos make RC life so much easier!

What a really useful feature. I use a notebook but this has the benefit of me not being able to leave it behind... think I'll give this a try.

Had my TX16S forever and had no idea. For some models, it's not needed but there are some where it will be so useful. Cheers.

Thanks. I didn't know about that feature, but I'll now be using it for all my more complex models that have switched functions.

Just what I need to remind me to add the elrs module to my t-lite pro. I only use it for my indoor quad, so leave it off most of the time.

Thanks for this tip, it works perfect on my TX16S but only for one model, If I save text files for my other models (of course with the same name like the models like AR WING.txt for the AR Wing model) in the model directory, they are not displayed when I switch on my radio and these models are selected by the start

I think I found the reason for this by myself, it was a missing underscore instead a space in the model txt file name

For everyone’s information I did a few test with EdgeTX and found out that a model name containing a space does not work. I created a text file with the model name with spaces replacing the space with an underscore and although the Note icon is displayed the content of the file is not. When I removed the spaces from the model name and created a text file with the same name as the model name everything worked.
This proves my theory that the use of underscores for model names with spaces does not work, clearly indicating that there’s a bug with EdgeTX

It DOES work in EdgeTX. :). Thanks Lee!!!
I notice that each line has a limit of 37 characters on the transmitter. Longer lines in the text file will drop to the next line on the transmitter screen.

@@Maltojo What version of EdgeTX are you using?
I tried it with EdgeTX 2.7 (nightly build) and it doesn’t work. I see the note icon, but the note does not open. When you select the note icon nothing happens.

      @Maltojo 2 роки тому

@@samavella8831 I'm using 2.6. I'd assume that 2.7 would still work, though. Just to make sure, the file name must be the same as the model name, if the model name has a space, substitute a "_" in it's place and the file name must have the ".txt" extension. But when I was trying it the note icon did not show up if the file was not recognized. So Hmmm. Hope you get it figured out.

      @@Maltojo Hi Mark,
I did all that and the Note icon shows up and as I said when you select it nothing happens. If I did not name the file correctly as you said the Note icon does not show up.
Now all my models have a space within their names! Do yours have a space as well?
